I ordered my Mavis on Thursday, arrived Friday and I built it on Saturday in front of my handful of fans on the tube... took me just over 22 minutes so I am currently soaking up Mavis videos and this just popped up in my feed drone is my thing and I enjoyed the examples shown off here... I will be returning to this in the near future, for sure cheers, andy 🙂
Wavefolder is nice (that its in there, sound is brutal!). And i think its a good choice to add something extra in "competition" to the B brand 😅 Its a big soundmodule, not a gadget I think 😅
Fantastic video, those patches were an absolute joy to listen to, could listen all day. I think Mike should demo the Buchla 208c, I would love to listen to heaps of patches, get weird as they did back in the day. Cheers for the video! :)
Hey im having troubles with the patch 12. the generative spooky plucks, i try to copy you 1:1 but if if i dont put my release knob to the left i keep hearing like an 808 that doesnt match the pluck please help me
Hello, thank you for your tutorials, please can you help me ? I have a simple master key Swing Behringer but i don't know how connect the master key to Mavis, i try to connect to gate to gate but play only one note...thank you
Cool demo, I am considering getting one to go with my Grandmother. I am not clued up really on modules, what I want to do is play the grandmother and use the Mavis as a extra oscillator, is this possible? if so how do I connect them together and does the mod wheel and pitchbend signal go to the Mavis also. Hope you can help. Regards Tim.
Hey there, yeah you could patch the Grandmother with the Mavis to make a 3 oscillator monster. Take a patch cable from the Keyboard out on the Grandmother to the 1v/Oct input on the Mavis. Then patch the VCO out on the Mavis to the Noise input on the Grandmother's Mixer. This will subtract Noise from the Grandmother and put the Mavis' VCO in its place. The pitch bend should work in this setup, mod wheel is a bit trickier and depends whether its routed to modulate the pitch vibrate or filter modulation. Filter modulation will work..but pitch vibrato will require some creative thinking 🤔
If you like the Mavis then you would love Korg's volca modular. It's built on the same West Coast additive synthesis, it's seems to be inspired by buchla. it's half the price of a Mavis it's got a sequencer and a built-in reverb. It is a crazy value for what it is. Pure aggressive wave folding textures
@@StoreDJ_online oop,,my mistake...it looks like the KBCV is multed and sent to LFO rate and to cutoff, what is the outcome of it being sent to the cutoff? apologues if this is a dumb Q!!
Ordered mine today and I cannot wait to get my hands on this beauty. Absolutely insane what it can do.

Man Mavis is perfect for creating your own sounds so you don’t sound like everyone else.

Strangely I cannot o the boucy ball pluck on mine. This is kinda annoying.
heya,,,,rad video,,,thanks,,,just a quick question,,,with the 19th patch, what is the intention and impact of the KBCV modulating cutoff? Thanks!
Thanks Will! On the 19th patch the KBCV isnt modulating the cut-off, not sure what you're referring to sorry!

great demo thank you. First comment!🤠

Great video. I would of happily swapped the blind packaging and deck saver for a midi connection or an extra lfo
May-vis. Haha pretty sure it's Mav-vis
