Haikyuu is probably my favourite sports anime ever because of how well it made me care about every single character, even ones on opposing teams and more minor side characters. Characters get really good development throughout the series too so, as you said, you get invested really quickly haha Haikyuu also manages to make every game (even practice matches) feel REALLY intense without the usage of more "shonen-like powers", so I'd say it's pretty realistic compared to some other sports anime. I think it has a good amount of slice of life and comedy in the mix as well! Even if you don't react to it, I'd say it's definitely worth a try!
Pretty realistic is kind of an understatement because every move they do in haikyuu is a move you can do in real life (except the freak quick) and they're actually not too difficult. Yes, this isn’t technically a slice of life anime since most of the character development is based on volleyball. The show does focus on one team but they do sometimes dwell into the stories of other rival teams (which makes watching tournaments tough since you don’t know who to root for ;-;). Haikyuu!! is an anime about Hinata Shoyo (MC) despite his short height (162cm) want to be a great volleyball player, he was inspired by someone called Little Giant who only 165cm height that manage to lead his team to national tournament. Hinata despite his height, he actually have a superior physical capabilities than others. He can jump higher, have insane stamina, fast speed, and fast reflex
@@ajrich it's better to use Crunchyroll Deutschland channel as there are some special openings and funny versions of regular openings (like the fail version of op 9, for example) which aren't present on Crunchyroll Collection (you should watch them all, they are hilarious). However, opening 17v4 is only on Crunchyroll Collection channel, so you can go there just for that specific version of the opening. Also there are Yorinuki Gintama-san openings (reruns of the best arcs of the series). There are 6 of them. Op 1 and 5 are pretty lame because they are just reusing video footage from the series and the movie and look like bad AMVs (the music is great though), so they can be skipped, but op 2, 3, 4 and 6 are fantastic. You can find those on Katsura channel
I really recommend Haikyuu!! It's one of my top 3 favorite anime. I love pretty much all the characters, all the teams, the songs and visuals are nice too. And some of my favorite OSTs are from this series :D
This was the first ever Sports anime I watched and when I found out it was just volleyball I didn't care that much but after watching more and more episodes I grew attached to the anime and my god I just loved every single thing of the anime I know you will enjoy it AJ Rich :D
I don't really like sports anime but haikyuu I instantly fell in love with it and op 4 is my favorite op but I love all of them. also the girl is the team manager. season 4 will be out this september I think I don't remember but it is ongoing Edit: please watch the endings and the last one sounds like a Japanese Bruno Mars song
Hinata's (orange-haired guy) motivation/goal is basically "to be on the court as long as possible". The show is very fun and takes the sport seriously, teaching all the rules along the way where it's easy to follow but not overbearing. It's fun and really pumps you up without needing superpowered moves to create that excitement. It is something I highly recommend if you want a character-driven show where everyone is important and likable/loveable. Also, you should watch the endings too. They are fantastic in my opinion.
The funny thing about the 5th opening is that this season (3rd season) is to cover one single voleyball match. It's against one of the most difficult teams from this show. My favorite openings are "Hikariare" (5th op), "Imagination"(1st op) and "Fly high" (4th op).
Op 5, 4, 1,3,2 Haikyuu is my favorite sports anime of all time, so it’d be great if you reacted to it:) maybe another sports anime you can react to is diamond no ace (it’s my 2nd favorite sports anime) Can you please react to your lie in April openings please?
I've been watching sports anime since the 90's, and this one is absolutely one of my favorites. First half of seasons do tend to be a bit slow because it's mainly training, but it does give you plenty of character development, getting to know them, and then the games start and it gets hype, they're very exciting. I was never interested in volleyball till I watched this series, same with my best friend and my cousin's teen son. It's absolutely a great series.
Since you asked Haikyuu!! curently has 3 seasons out rn (60 episodes total) BUT a 4th season has been confirmed with an expected mid-late 2020 release so now would be the best time to get into this amazing series! Also, just to toss in a recommendation, it'd be really great to see you react to the openings of the Monogatari Series. They're the most visually interesting openings ever, it'll be a one of a kind experience. Thank you :))
One of the best not so well known sports anime I'm currently waiting for the 4th season in September I think that's the release date (by saying it's not well known I mean it generally stays in its own community unlike my hero academia kinda known by alot of people)
@@noe4354 I'm saying alot of time people who are getting in to anime or what not sometimes pass up sport stuff cos they don't think it will be that good compared to an action anime or something

Yes, the show is still going (the manga isn't finished either) Also there is a fourth season coming out in the next couple of months so now would be an amazing time to get into this show
The 4th opening, fly high, is just so so good. It is easily my favorite out of the bunch and way up there as one of my favorite openings of any series. The band, burnout syndromes, sang both op 4 and 5, and they do some great great songs. The anime is still ongoing with the 4th season finally getting a fall release this year. The manga also consistently ranks high in the yearly sales rankings too.
The 5th op always gives me goosebumps when in the end lightning strikes between the two approaching teams and the eagle and murder of crows face off ✊🏼
My sister talked me into watching Haikyuu only last month, and it has CONSUMED my life. There is so much I could say about it, but it's really one of those anime that you need to just watch for yourself. I will say, though, that the thing that has made this easily my favorite anime (at least in recent memory) is the care and heart with which the story is told, not just from the main characters' perspective, but from the team's perspective as well.
this is honestly one of the best animes! i know you’re reacting to a lot of shows right now, but if you ever find time on your hands, please react to this one! this anime motivated me into doing things that i love and to be passionate about it, so this anime will always have a special place in my heart. you won’t regret watching it!!
Haikyuu currently has 3 seasons: Season 1 is good, Season 2 is the best, Season 3 is all about one match (and it's awesome), and we are finally getting a season 4 this fall.
I didn't think I'd like Haikyuu, and I remember my first reaction was, "It's just volleyball, that's it. Why does everyone liking it so much?" I knew absolutely nothing about volleyball, but the characters in this really makes the anime. It starts out slow, but they're much more grounded than other sports animes, and one thing that I love about Hiakyuu is how realistic it is and how they shape each and every character, and not only from the main team, but others as well. Season 1 is great, but Season 2 is when it pushes Haikyuu from great to phenomenal, and from the manga, I'm really hyped to see what Season 4 will be like after all of this waiting. The OST is absolutely amazing too (actually composed by the same person who does My Hero Acadamia, though I prefer Haikyuu's a tad bit more), so prepare to get impressed if you ever do react to this series!
The beautiful thing about Haikyuu as a sports anime is that it does not spoil the engagement by giving the characters special moves or superpowers like a lot of other sports animes do; you can feel a sense of realism in this anime which makes it one of the most beautiful animes out there
I would love to see you reacting to Haikyuu :D I never really was into sports anime and volleyball in general until i watched Haikyuu... Also a 4th season was announced so it might be good to start watching it... And my favourite Op is probably the 4th one but i also like the 5th one a lot
This anime is centered around the Karasuno high school boy's volleyball team, so all the girls you see are pretty much the managers (students that are not athletes but take care of everything the coach can't or doesn't: like water, food, organizing jerseys, note and data taking, escorting injured athletes... basically doing all the things that need to be done but not necessarily by someone like an athlete or coach so that they can be extra efficient.) we do see some women teams, but they are not the main focus, so we see them in tournaments and stuff, but pretty much only in passing. as for the team: basically every year, third years retire, and first years join, so the members of every team change every year. at the beginning, the players try to learn how to play together and how to complement other player's skills and whatnot, so we are not really focused on games. then, they start playing practice matches and go to training camps, and we follow their development. there is a short tournament arc in the first season, a longer one in the second, and the third is just one long match. the fourth has player development in beginning and then just tournaments. that is why the first ops were less game/competition, and more volleyball/teams/learning. The main character is average height but very short for volley. he jumps really high, tho, to compensate, and his partnership with the setter makes him really fearsome. their attacks attract the opponent's defenses' attention to make the other players' offence easier. the team name is Karasuno, and karasu means crow, hence the crow imagery. in fact, every team pretty much has corresponding imagery: in the last op, the eagle is their opponent. the anime is not over, you should watch it
you should totally react to it. it's not over- season 4 is coming this autumn, and it's a good balance of upbeat and hype. every character is unique, most of them get some spotlight + growth.
It's not Haikyui but Hype-kyuu. Basically it's a normal volleyball anime with no "super powers", but hypes you to the most. The premise is about a short guy wanting to become a "Little Giant" - his idol - who is also super short. I hope you watch the series, and if you do, I bet you'll really enjoy this.
Haikyuu is my personal favourite sports anime. I recommend that you watch it as it gives you a good feel of volleyball and the music gets you pretty hyped too.
Not just my fav sports anime but my fav anime of all time, not because it is the best but I have enjoyed it very much, I have seen it like 3 times and I still enjoy it as the first time. Also the manga is on going and in December was announced that the fourth season of the series would come out!
I'm so happy man, I just saw your Boku no Hero reaction video and just found your channel and I instantly thought, "Has he done a Haikyuu video?" and my wishes have been granted. Your content is really good man!
My boys! I actually looked on your channel just yesterday to see if you've watched it so this is perfect timing. I'm rewatching the show for like the 10th time and it's still incredible. I don't think I've ever been as in love with a show as Haikyuu. It has some of the greatest character writing I've ever seen in any show. Not just anime. I'm so happy right now! Please watch it. Please. (Opening 3 is my favourite but they're all great) Anyone wanna talk about it with me before I explode?
Haikyuu is the anime that got me into anime. I started watching because someone recommended it to me because I play volleyball, and stayed for the great characters and hype moments. It’s decently realistic compared to some other shows like Kuroko no basuke, but if you actually know about volleyball you will have to suspend your disbelief as they manage to do super advanced things with ease but can’t seem to figure out basic strategy like coordinating the block and the defensive. Regardless, it’s a really good show that has brought me a lot of joy.
Haikyuu is near my heart! While watching the anime, it made me wish that this was out while I was playing volleyball. The passion is so contagious! Also, it is still going on. Season 4 should be coming out next year or so.
There's going to be a Season 4 coming out this year, so it's not entirely done since the manga is still ongoing. Also yes, Fly High (4th Opening) is also one of my favourites
It is so hyped watching you react to Haikyuu. I guess you have a lot on your watchlist, reacting to new things everyday and getting tons of recommendations everyday but I actually really recommend this one. I watched about ~250 Animes and can confidently say that this one is in my top 5 Anime. I dont know any Anime that gets you so hyped about. It is so fun watching them get better at the Sport. You just sit on the edge of your chair in every match. Edit: Haha just saw your reaction on the last Opening. The third season is actually just one single battle. Vs the last team in the Final of their Tournament. It is just so good^^.
I never thought I would get into sports anime this is tied with baby steps for me which is about tennis I've seen both series completely through 4 times.
Ooooo was the baseball anime Ookiku Furikabutte (Big Windup!!)? After watching Haikyuu I wanted to rewatch Big Windup because I had also seen it a really long time ago. So glad you reacted to the OPs, Haikyuu is an amazing series and I’d recommend it to anyone so I really hope you check it out. 😁 Also I really enjoyed hearing your comments and knowledge of volleyball. It was really cool to see you connect thanks to your prior experience. I genuinely think you’d love this show! 😃
Hey AJ, new to the channel. Love your reactions! Very insightful and honest. Always good to hear what you gotta say. Your reactions have a certain clarity and thought that many other reactors don't have. I'm also following you on My Hero Academia :) Btw, a lot of your guesses are so spot on here haha. I think the 5th opening is the best because when you're into the story, you're able to appreciate the symbolism. Idk if you do this but you could choose to react to a couple of their matches before watching. Not sure if it'll ruin it for you, in which case, might be better to watch the whole anime instead.
The opening showing the gym with a lot of new characters and females is from the Tokyo Training Camp, which is from season 2 i think. My favorite season because it showed the main characters evolving and having some serious character development after season 1, revealing their old rivals (Nekoma) with a new player, and even new rivals (Fukurodani). The Gym #3 team is fun to watch too :3 But season 3 opening (the last one u watched) is my fave because it really gives me a thrill whenever I watch it. It feels like you really understand just how powerful their opponent is from that opening. Basically Haikyuu makes you love all the characters, whether they are the main ones or minor ones or their rivals. Everyone has very different personalities too.
Thank you for the content you make. It really is very pleasant to watch how people discover a new world for themselves. I hope you continue to record this type of vidos further.♥️🔥🔥🔥

Edit: I don't know if someone told you yet but there are 3 seasons and it's still going on. Now is a good time to watch it because this autumn the 4th season will be released!
Haikyuu!! is an anime about Hinata Shoyo (MC) despite his short height (162cm) want to be a great volleyball player, he was inspired by someone called Little Giant who only 165cm height that manage to lead his team to national tournament.
Hinata despite his height, he actually have a superior physical capabilities than others. He can jump higher, have insane stamina, fast speed, and fast reflex
Haikyuu is excellent when it comes to its character developments and overall hype with matches in the series, it's one of my favorites
Can you react to Gintama openings next? If and when you do please watch it on the channel called "Crunchyroll Collection".
And some of my favorite OSTs are from this series :D
recently started watching this to myself, I didn't really think I was going to like it. It blew away my expectations, definitely recommend it!
This was the first ever Sports anime I watched and when I found out it was just volleyball I didn't care that much but after watching more and more episodes I grew attached to the anime and my god I just loved every single thing of the anime I know you will enjoy it AJ Rich :D
This show does a great job of making you like both teams and feeling conflicted over who you wanna win.
when he asked if they will call out their moves to make it like an action anime...ROLLING THUNDERRR!!!
I would love to see your reaction to the series as a whole!!
I don't really like sports anime but haikyuu I instantly fell in love with it and op 4 is my favorite op but I love all of them. also the girl is the team manager. season 4 will be out this september I think I don't remember but it is ongoing
Edit: please watch the endings and the last one sounds like a Japanese Bruno Mars song
KabukiSenju it’s just exactly the lazy song isn’t it!!!!!!!!!
@@cartooncrazy9883 yep
I was never interested in sport's anime until I saw haikyuu, it gets you soooo pumped up
Op 5, 4, 1,3,2 Haikyuu is my favorite sports anime of all time, so it’d be great if you reacted to it:) maybe another sports anime you can react to is diamond no ace (it’s my 2nd favorite sports anime)
Can you please react to your lie in April openings please?
I've been watching sports anime since the 90's, and this one is absolutely one of my favorites. First half of seasons do tend to be a bit slow because it's mainly training, but it does give you plenty of character development, getting to know them, and then the games start and it gets hype, they're very exciting. I was never interested in volleyball till I watched this series, same with my best friend and my cousin's teen son. It's absolutely a great series.
"I think it goes on for a few episodes". Oh, you know, just an entire season lol.
7:50 The orange hair guy is a spiker, and it's why the anime is intrusting !
Haikyuu is by far my favorite anime, it teaches about the sport and gets you pumped
Please react to "Kuroko no Basket" openings if you haven't watched it yet
You should react to the Kuroko no Basket openings😏
One of the best not so well known sports anime I'm currently waiting for the 4th season in September I think that's the release date (by saying it's not well known I mean it generally stays in its own community unlike my hero academia kinda known by alot of people)
No the 4th season isn't in September.
September is when they announce the date for the 4th season, so its most likely coming in 2020
@@tkn9979 oh right yeah I saw the trailer for the announcement it's just been awhile cheers for correcting me
Haikyuu is the most popular sports anime lmao what are you talking about
@@noe4354 I'm saying alot of time people who are getting in to anime or what not sometimes pass up sport stuff cos they don't think it will be that good compared to an action anime or something
@@jaris4435 thats because they're ignorant and don't really have a sense of what good anime is. Haikyuu is still one of shounen jumps best sellers and is extremely popular in japan too.
Yes, the show is still going (the manga isn't finished either) Also there is a fourth season coming out in the next couple of months so now would be an amazing time to get into this show
It's really well written one of the best ones out there in character development. Always a joy to watch or even read
Haikyuu is simply a must watch.. thats it really, you just have to watch it to know it's greatness
this is honestly one of the best animes! i know you’re reacting to a lot of shows right now, but if you ever find time on your hands, please react to this one! this anime motivated me into doing things that i love and to be passionate about it, so this anime will always have a special place in my heart. you won’t regret watching it!!

i just finished Haikyu for the 2nd time last night . Only two words: MUST WATCH.
I don't want to be that person but.... *2nd

The beautiful thing about Haikyuu as a sports anime is that it does not spoil the engagement by giving the characters special moves or superpowers like a lot of other sports animes do; you can feel a sense of realism in this anime which makes it one of the most beautiful animes out there
Season 4 is coming out in january, I think it’d be a good time for you to start watching this anime, it’s really good and “realistic”
"I wonder if they're gonna cal out special moves and such" ROLLING THUNDAA!!! 4:54
I watched this anime about 2 months ago and I binged it so hard, this show is so good.
Just want to tell really appreciate your vids
“Call our special moves and stuff” rolling thunder!
its such a good show! pls start watching it, its so mentally catching
Hikari are (the fifth op) is such a great song, every time I listen to it I get so hyped.
I would love to see you reacting to Haikyuu :D I never really was into sports anime and volleyball in general until i watched Haikyuu... Also a 4th season was announced so it might be good to start watching it... And my favourite Op is probably the 4th one but i also like the 5th one a lot
The show is done at the moment, but the manga is ongoing and a season 4 is confirmed, probably in 2020
I recommend you to watch each opening's full version.. each one has their own uniqueness
This anime is not ended till now. The next season(4) is going to start at winter. So next opening will be coming
You cannot imagine the mental backflip I did when I saw this lmao
Haikyu is that one Anime in which I like every single character
It's not Haikyui but Hype-kyuu.
Basically it's a normal volleyball anime with no "super powers", but hypes you to the most.
The premise is about a short guy wanting to become a "Little Giant" - his idol - who is also super short.
I hope you watch the series, and if you do, I bet you'll really enjoy this.
The protagonist is a spiker with really high jumps even thought he’s the second shortest
Haikyuu is my personal favourite sports anime. I recommend that you watch it as it gives you a good feel of volleyball and the music gets you pretty hyped too.
The entire 3rd season is just one single match, and I love that it's so epic
Not just my fav sports anime but my fav anime of all time, not because it is the best but I have enjoyed it very much, I have seen it like 3 times and I still enjoy it as the first time. Also the manga is on going and in December was announced that the fourth season of the series would come out!
I'm so happy man, I just saw your Boku no Hero reaction video and just found your channel and I instantly thought, "Has he done a Haikyuu video?" and my wishes have been granted. Your content is really good man!
Wooohoo! My suggestion on your discord actually got noticed! :o So happy! You gotta watch this show!
The fly high opening gives me chills everytime I watch it just because it's so amazing
Good job on 20K subs!
Please. (Opening 3 is my favourite but they're all great)
Anyone wanna talk about it with me before I explode?
really looking forward for your haikyuu reactions !!
Omg can’t believe you actually did it
Haikyuu is near my heart! While watching the anime, it made me wish that this was out while I was playing volleyball. The passion is so contagious!
Also, it is still going on. Season 4 should be coming out next year or so.
Dude same! I wanted to get right back into volleyball!
It is just so good^^.
well the manga is "on going", and the theres an haikyuu event in 22nd of september. and season 4 was announced.
I never thought I would get into sports anime this is tied with baby steps for me which is about tennis I've seen both series completely through 4 times.
AJ: “I wonder if they’re gonna call out moves and stuff”
My Brain: “ROLLING THUNDER!!”
Also I really enjoyed hearing your comments and knowledge of volleyball. It was really cool to see you connect thanks to your prior experience. I genuinely think you’d love this show! 😃
Phoenix>>>Fly High>>>Imagination>>>I'm a believer
Hey AJ, new to the channel. Love your reactions! Very insightful and honest. Always good to hear what you gotta say. Your reactions have a certain clarity and thought that many other reactors don't have. I'm also following you on My Hero Academia :)
Btw, a lot of your guesses are so spot on here haha.
The Gym #3 team is fun to watch too :3
But season 3 opening (the last one u watched) is my fave because it really gives me a thrill whenever I watch it.
“I’m guessing he’s a server or in the back maybe”
Nah he’s like middle blocker in the front row
Favorite opening- Fly High by Burnout Syndromes, opening 4, without a second thought.
Aj:I wonder if they have special call out moves
Me:say no more.ROLLING THUNDER
You can check Hajime no Ippo openings. It's about boxing, and is my favorite sports anime, haikyuu is second place (I like so much though). And ...monogatari...)
