Thanks so much for sharing these videos. You are much better than me but somehow "mortal" and it's great to see you dealing with some of the same problems I encounter when I sail! Have a great summer and keep sharing. I hope we both learn a lot this year!

You are doing great! Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor! I would be scared too to sail that far offshore in choppy conditions and deep water, good for you!

Super, great job, just keep practicing. In windsurfing there is no short cuts, time on water is the only way to get better.

We want some videos of your first 25+ knot day on a 4.0 or whatever you can hold onto 😂. Don't forget to put a smaller fin on too. Keep after it. Doing great.

Your harness is almost up to your armpits 😂 the hook should be as low as your belly button. No wonder you can’t close the sail. Your harness lines should also be longer to give you more comfort in sea state conditions and it will also allow you to absorb shocks much better with bent legs. Going downstream with the waves is the obvious solution to get planing. Once you have picked up enough speed and power in your sail, you can begin to push your board upwind without losing too much momentum. Also, try to be patient before going into the straps, the board must have enough speed to allow this. Respect to you for surfing in these conditions, well done.

I thoutght that it is my fat belly that cannot stand the harness.😂 I put harness on my waist level and once I hook it will go up, right under my chest. I haven't managed to sail upwind when i'm on planing condition indeed. As for the sail, I can close it but too much speed is scaring me.😬
Thank you for your comment and your advice mate.

@@stratosmuse try a seat harness. I have small hips and never got used to à waist harness, tried it but like you, it kept on creeping up all the time. I have an Ion Octane now: not cheap but worth the investment. Hook is not as low as in classic seat harnesses, a hybrid seat/waist harness is the way to go.

@@wisecoonie I use one, it's better on my old back. But going to get a waist for short sessions. It's about tuning/setting things up for what works for you in current conditions.
