We are fortunate, indeed, that those there, then, recognized that what JG was "sayin' " was important, valuable, and "worth" capturing (with state-of-the -art equipment) for posterity!
Link? He always rocked with a little extra "umph" when he was in his own back yard! Warfield shows always brought the heat too! Damn I miss that man! 😻❤️
I saw JGB in concert before i saw GD so i have a special place in my heart for JGB. It was Halloween (the "early" show) at the Tower Theater, Philadelphia (1982). An unforgettable time. Every single person in the place was flyin' thanks to the clown with the sugar cubes🌈🎶🌈🎶💃🕺🌹🎉
Love the Tower Theater 😀 remember watching those big maroon curtains breathing to the music…. Couldn’t smoke cigarettes in there but they let you smoke pot. Whoohoo Philly
@@stevenburke4209 yes, I meant 1981 the "late" show. Tnx. I didn't know at the time that there was an early and a late show until aquired the tape years later during my tape-trading years. So, were you at the late show or the early show?
Hunter Garcia grittiest blues line "Come on, come on, baby and tell me true Hey now baby, what did I do? I shot my dog 'cause he growled at you Valerie, won't you be good to me?" Classic
No, but they released some or all of that show as something like Volume 1.5 and it went quickly out of print. I'm keen on hearing it. Here are the songs and musicians for this release: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garcia_Live_Volume_20
Well thats the dirtiest Khan I've ever heard. Nothing at all like the 77 Khan I've been listening to mostly for a few years now.. maybe he needed to punch through the mix as Jerry seems highly aggressive in this one.
Obrigado.

Love and welcome any release from the Jerry archives but gotta say, I'm a little disappointed with this pick because there has been a high quality soundboard source of this particular show, 6-18-82, in circulation for many years. The circulating soundboard also includes the, 'How sweet it is' which opened the show and which is bizarrely omitted from this official release.
How sweet it is to be loved by you! Hey Jerry heads, god I love this music!
Great song. One of my fav JGB tunes. Miss you Jerry. The world was a better place with you in it. 🥀
Nobody has ever been as good or will be as good as Jerry! And I feel Jerry's vocals do not get enough credit.
Can't stop playing this Jerry's tone is so Grrrrrrr! Love it!
Top notch audio 👌 saw my first JGB 1983 at the hartford bushnell 👏✨️🇺🇲

you mean the 1981 show? In 82 they played Nov 7. That 81 show was my first JGB.

Every seat in the Tower Theatre was good. The balcony or the floor it didn't matter.
@@LucyLennon20 Tower was epic as was the Mann

So delicious!!! ❤❤❤
The filler on this JGB release has Phil Lesh filling in for John Kahn on bass for a show in California, Fairfax I believe.
