I like the idea but I think you should do a separate video instead of having it in the beginning of a new one for example you post a story on Monday and then post your reaction and comments on Wednesday and on Friday it’s a new story just my 2 cents love the content

And since you do the little outros, i have realized that certain stories had a prequel that i already knew. So i can just go back and listen to it right after, so adding comments is a great idea.

I like this new idea. Not that the old way wasn’t great, but I like the idea of listener comments also being included so it’s more like a group discussion.
This story feels very… verbose? Like it feels it’s dragging itself to get across a point that could be done with much less effort and time. It’s a captivating story it’s just it feels like it’s wanting to be long rather than needing to.
When you mix the great state of Vermont with a ghost tale with nice pacing, you got some Content thats hard to beat. Thanks Dark Somnium for the story and love your intro comment idea!
Your thoughts at the end of the video are such a delightful highlight that make you stand out from other reading channels. It’s nice to have a pallet cleanser after listening to horror. Especially for the particularly ‘icky’ stories, it can be nice to get a little aftercare. And the new method sounds like a cool way to make that part more interactive so I’m definitely in favor of it

This is by far my favorite story of yours, EVER! I lost my dad 25yrs ago and mom about five years ago. I was my moms caregiver for approximately 20yrs until she passed. She was old so it ws expected but the manner in which she went was far too fast for me. I miss them both but I miss her most. She had dementia and it was hard to watch but i wouldnt have been avle to live with myself if i put her in a home. She wanted to spend her days at home and im glad i could make that a reality for her. She would have died quite a bit faster if she was placed in a home. She told me that all the time. Ive never wanted marriage or children so being her caregiver was fine with me. A lot of what has been spoken on between him and his mom really hit home for me. It moved me the point of tears. Thank you for telling this story as I believe seniors are often just discarded. We throw away our elderly family members bc its convenient for our busy lives; this practice is disgusting to me! Anyway, thank you again for this heart wrenching story.

Hey man. As always, thank you for the top notch quality and great story. Please don’t change your end commentary. I like hearing your opinion of the video just as I’ve formed my own. I can also scroll through the comments (which I always do) at the end of the story. If you have time and want to discuss stories, I think an end of the month live stream where you play games or make music or do a “drinks” livestream while rounding up the month of stories with a discussion would be sick and great community involvement.

Great idea for the comments! Another way for us to be interactive and share viewpoints on things. For instance the video with the 2 astronauts and putting the dead ones body on the outside of the ship and the entire story. Avoiding spoilers so I won't say more. It was amazing how creepy it was. Such good writing.

It’s interesting in this story it’s like he is haunted twice, by his legacy with his ancestor and by his ancestors sins in the form of a prevalent. And you like the lack of sentimentality with the relics cause it gives nuance, that seems realistic. Good stuff.

I see the appeal of your idea regarding commenting on the last video and not the current one. But personally I feel like that creates a need for continuity I wouldn't like. For it to mean anything I'd have to 1. Remember what the last video was 2. Have seen the last video 3. Switch tracks in my brain storywise. 1 and 2 are fairly self explanatory, but I'll expand on 3 a bit. If you really a dig a story, you often want to sit in it for a bit, think about it. Let it soak over you while you toss it around in your mind. And you talking about the videos story at the end creates a great "talking with your buddy about the movie you just watched together" vibe. But if you switched to discussing the last video, I suddenly have to stop thinking about this story, and I can't sit in it, or bounce off of what you say while I think about it. But instead immediately think about a different story than the one I just heard. Which I feel will make the stories feel less memorable, because the audience won't be allowed to sit in them before they're immediately thinking of something else. I think your impetus is good, and worth pursuing, but I think the way you want to do it is a bad call. Just my opinion though.

From the angle of someone who tends to listen to your work up to several days out of sync with the upload and also tends to not comment toooo often.. I think the idea sounds nice. I get the vibe that the community interaction is a thing you really enjoy so you should lean into what you enjoy.
This could potentially fix a problem I've seen in your comment section for a long time. The first 10 comments, and a majority more after that are always praise for your superb narrative skills. Which is true of course, but it saddens me that so few people discuss the story told. What that man did out of sheer greed was terrible and cursed the land probably forever. And yet, I'm glad that rage overtook him in that moment, because he had probably planned to do worse before her death. It's sad she's trapped in eternal suffering, but she shouldn't have tortured a child for it. But maybe that's what made him better than his predecessors.
I haven't had the chance to even listen to this video, so I can't comment on your feelings about the story. But as to the first part of what you said, I completely agree. The top/most liked comments are always 'I can't believe I'm here early', 'you're amazing', 'first', 'how do you not have 1M subs yet?' etc. Don't get me wrong, he deserves the praise & appreciation, but people seem more interested in posting generic, totally unengaging comments that you see under every story of every narration channel. I love talking about the actual story, so I'm always disappointed by the lack of actual ideas & interpretations about the plot.

Would be great if there was a weekly video where you do more of a deep dive on it all with your thoughts, makes for a great 'daytime chores podcast' type listen as opposed to being thrown in with the 'bedtime narration to make me sleepy' content!

I see the appeal of your idea regarding commenting on the last video and not the current one. But personally I feel like that creates a need for continuity I wouldn't like. For it to mean anything I'd have to
1. Remember what the last video was
2. Have seen the last video
3. Switch tracks in my brain storywise.
1 and 2 are fairly self explanatory, but I'll expand on 3 a bit. If you really a dig a story, you often want to sit in it for a bit, think about it. Let it soak over you while you toss it around in your mind. And you talking about the videos story at the end creates a great "talking with your buddy about the movie you just watched together" vibe. But if you switched to discussing the last video, I suddenly have to stop thinking about this story, and I can't sit in it, or bounce off of what you say while I think about it. But instead immediately think about a different story than the one I just heard. Which I feel will make the stories feel less memorable, because the audience won't be allowed to sit in them before they're immediately thinking of something else.
I think your impetus is good, and worth pursuing, but I think the way you want to do it is a bad call. Just my opinion though.

From the angle of someone who tends to listen to your work up to several days out of sync with the upload and also tends to not comment toooo often.. I think the idea sounds nice. I get the vibe that the community interaction is a thing you really enjoy so you should lean into what you enjoy.
This could potentially fix a problem I've seen in your comment section for a long time. The first 10 comments, and a majority more after that are always praise for your superb narrative skills. Which is true of course, but it saddens me that so few people discuss the story told.
What that man did out of sheer greed was terrible and cursed the land probably forever. And yet, I'm glad that rage overtook him in that moment, because he had probably planned to do worse before her death.
It's sad she's trapped in eternal suffering, but she shouldn't have tortured a child for it. But maybe that's what made him better than his predecessors.
I haven't had the chance to even listen to this video, so I can't comment on your feelings about the story. But as to the first part of what you said, I completely agree. The top/most liked comments are always 'I can't believe I'm here early', 'you're amazing', 'first', 'how do you not have 1M subs yet?' etc. Don't get me wrong, he deserves the praise & appreciation, but people seem more interested in posting generic, totally unengaging comments that you see under every story of every narration channel. I love talking about the actual story, so I'm always disappointed by the lack of actual ideas & interpretations about the plot.
in regards to the intro, i think hearing comments would be awesome- but I would miss hearing your opinions immediately. It'd be cool to try out the new idea and see if it's working after a few vids :) Awesome narration btw!
I really like the idea we'll be able to make little community theories and stuff, it feel a little disjointed in the beginning but I think it'll settle nicely
