I learned so much from cutting this film!
Raja Bell is one underrated defensive player and I have not seen many players who make as few mistakes as he does. Particularly in Philly Raja really did not make many mistakes, I imagine it was because to solidify himself in the NBA and Larry Brown's high demand on defense. Phoenix different defensive system but he was still excellent and he was stronger.
Now Kobe was something else. in 01 he was a top 3 player but he significantly got better in 06 and 07 where he was by far the best player in the league. He was stronger, a better ball handler, and his jumper was cleaner. I noticed in 01 in his jump shot he would do an extra full body bend but in 06 and 07 it was gone. The biggest difference is his post-scoring. Kobe did a great job of getting to spots where Bell had no choice but to guess and even if Bell guessed right, Kobe's elevation on his jumper still was enough for a clean look.
