Ford 5.0L Coyote Engine
The Coyote is a 5.0 liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine from Ford Motor used to power sports cars like the Ford Mustang and pickup trucks like the Ford F-150. Featuring a dual overhead cam (DOHC) design, in a V configuration, the Ford Coyote architecture has been part of the Ford Modular family since 2011. The engine has seen some revisions since then, the most recent being in 2018.
This engine was first engineered for the Mustang GT so it could compete with the GM 6.2L LS3 engine used in the Chevrolet Camaro at the time. The Coyote had to remain the same size as the outgoing 4.6-liter V8. It was also Ford’s first implementation of its Twin independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT) technology on a V8 engine, a feature which considerably improves fuel economy and power delivery all while reducing emissions.
About Ridetech
Ridetech started in 1996 with a vision of building a better lowered car. Using air suspension to accomplish the task, our reputation as innovators, problem solvers, and just good folks to deal with, helped us grow quickly.
It was just what we do - we Hot Rod. To us, Hot Rodding means you can always do better and “no” is never an acceptable answer.
Can we make a vintage car drive, handle and perform as well as a modern super car - YES!
Can we make a truck ride as good as your family sedan (even with massive changes in load) - YES!
Can we take a car built to handle on rails and provide a smooth compliment ride - YES!
Being a Hot Rodder is more than parts and problem solving, if you are one too, then you already know what we mean. It is a lifestyle and a passion, and it is built on sharing with friends. Being a Hot Rodder means you never enter any town as a stranger, you always have fellow enthusiast to sit down with and feel at home. This is why we spend so much of our time and resources on attending events, we want to meet you and hear about your story - even if you aren’t a customer, even if you buy someone else’s product…
Our approach to problem solving, “can-do” perspective and relationship driven business tactics have provided openings into many areas of business including agriculture, commercial transport and defense projects as well… but at the core, we remain true to who we are - we are Hot Rodders.

Rusty Nutz broke his old rear, until Lucky replaced it, with no trouble or fear. That wagon's worthy of a floor.
Lucky always makes it look easy. Also, he’s got the best background music. Really digging the wagon Lucky looks great.
Thanks 👍
Two tire Fryer. 👍. Great to see someone work on cars so calmly.
Thanks 👍
I love station wagons, specially those super sleepers ! 🇺🇸🫡
I love the '63. Yours gives me such good memories as a kid. My dad traded his 57 Merc for a '63 Galaxie 500 Country Squire station wagon. It had an early 289 and he had under dash AC. Wimbledon white with blue interior. Being upstate NY, he drove it only in the summer and trailered a 1957 Correct Craft inboard ski boat we restored to use up in the 1,000 islands. Eventually he sold it in the 80's with 30k miles. It was mint but I was in school and could not get it. "Good times" for sure.
As the owner of a 63 convertible I do recommend the following for the to-do list: 1) Quickor front and rear way bars (the original front one is way small for a car that heavy), 2) Fatman Fabrications tubular control arms with the offset bolt elimination, 3) CPP big brake kit if you get around to upgrading from the drum brakes. Also optional which you might not want to do since you have air ride already is the Fatman 3" drop spindles. They are designed to accomodate Granada front discs although CPP sells brake kits to use either the Galaxie or the Granada front spindle mounting points. Getting rid of the offset lower front A-arm bolt will do wonders to improve driving feel, get rid of that wandering feeling and improve tire wear. Been there, done that.
Thanks for taking the time to share this good info 👊🏻
@@luckysgarageshow The offset bolts were one of those ideas that was good on paper but didn't work out so well in practice. The first 3 model years of that chassis (1960-62) didn't have them. They were only used on the 63 and 64 cars. Supposedly they were trying to improve the ride on rough roads but the problem was the cars tended to toe-out under braking and toe-in under acceleration. Keeping the front end aligned was darn near impossible since the front of the lower A-arms were free to move around. It led to customer complaints of tires wearing unevenly. If the car was brought back to the dealer for that reason the fix was to install a brace bar that tied the mounts together to keep them from moving. I have one I pulled off my car that you could have although I live in central Alabama so not very convenient to you.
Lucky, you ARE the Wagon Master!!👍
Lucky, nice to run into you at the 5150 club car show at Harrahs. Thanks for signing my hat.
Any time! Nice to run into you as well! 👊🏻🏁
Sweet ride, Lucky … hope you have a great weekend! 😎
Frying the tire material. You know the *old-school* lingo.
1:14 Rusty Nutz yeah that’s the ticket 🎟️ Lucky 🍀
You're living the dream, Lucky! Coyote wagon and six speeds sounds like Heaven to me. BTW, it;s "fryer".
👊🏻🏁
Dude!!! Nice video!!! 2 wheel peel!!✌️
Thanks! 👍
Check your rearend coz nobody else will.
Sleeperdude restored a galaxie wagon (country i think).
New floor, carpet, nice project.
Im still thinkin your Chrysler waggin is the best..!
Hope you still got it...
Carry on
The car is looking good 👍👍
El Bombodero, nice music.
Man I remember my friends and I cruising down the 405 in my first car .A1965 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS going to San Clemente which at one time was the Western White House for Pres. Nixon. We would drive back up to Orange County on PCH. We thought that we were so cool we weren't. We didn't have any particular place in mind we just went. Sadly some of those friends are no longer with us. 6=8.
Whatever happened with the big block Mopar stroker wagon ?
Would've loved to have seen the look on the face of the person that engaged you in the NOT a speed contest when Rusty Nutz "prevailed."..
Great video glad your looking great health again
Thank you!
Some video guy’s thanks lucky
Sweet!!!
look at lucky.. Getting jinky with the music when doin the speed time lapse. In regards to the "Lucky's smoke show" that is what it is. Not a fryer or or fire!
Thank you!!
Maybe...Posi Peel? I just call it fun. I am saving money by keeping the tire wear even. 😏
Ah the hot rod equivalent of a BBL. Neat
Damn I want shocks like those shit damminit
Fryer!!
Loved the music used in this video, who’s the artist?
Thank you very much, from Sydney Australia.
Thank you!!
It makes you a two tire "buyer"
2 wheel peel
2 WHEEL PEEL
I call it a one tire fryer when its an open diff. anything else would just be a "posi"
Definitely two tire fryer, sorry Alex.
Thank you!!
Um a standard 9 inch LSD, all Aussie fords fitted with a 9 inch are limited slip. No open wheelers ever..😎yes I had to fit a Yukon LSD to my open 3.00 63.5 myself😬
Rear Disk Brakes in the future?
Definitely "Fryer"
👊🏻👊🏻
Would newer Mustang rea end fit?
You're frying the tires, so it's a 2 tire fryer. Unless you're boiling bolognese.
👊🏻
fryer
I call it a one tire fire. So all that and you didn't tell us what you found wrong and what you put back in. I assume some sort of locker.
I love alex but the saying is in fact fryer.
two wheel peel
Two wheel peel
Two tire fryer. Duh.
Stop rubbing it in our faces.
The rest of the world does not simply drive to Earls to get fittings. You guys are spoiled rotten. You don’t know what it’s like to have to order all your fittings online.. LA people are lucky to have the Earls retail outlet
Lucky, what's your 0-60 & top end with that coyote engine?
2 wheel peel.
Lucky you make hot rodding look easy!! The rust `0` Wagon is looking great!
Thanks 👍
Love the wagon, Lucky, of course I love all the Ford content. Wondering how you're gonna change out a drain plug without draining the oil??? Anyway, thanks for the videos, going to the Chili Fest in LaGrange, NC, tomorrow, taking my '73 Mach 1 to the car show. I've always been a car nut and enjoy tinkering on it. Btw what happened to the Disgustang?
Thank you!!
“That Aaaarooo shouldn’t be in the differential.” That’s some funny shit right there….
Thanks!
Working smart 👍 Rear end on jackstands on the rolling cart. Then work sitting down. Super easy on the feet and back.
Right on
smarter not harder.
You commit a two tire fryer in order to get the two tire fire. What gears did you go with? Happy to see another Galaxie saved, Most around here were demo derby fodder. I bought mine so it wouldn't be another one. How is McGann is doing? I haven't talked to him in ages.
The long roof Gal is so sick!
👋 I have a 63' boxtop and was wondering what the wheel size/tires and backspacing are. Love your Coyote wagon, really awesome! Thanks...
Down south we call it 2 tire fryer, Sorry Alex. Yea those 8" rear ends are ok as long as you don't try to put a lot of HP in front of it and big tires. This cause's breakage. I am sure the 9" will work out fine. How about Country Coyote?😁😎👍👍
Two-Tire Frier... And rubber slinger.. The Lucky Metal Missile..
Love the car, its the epitome of what my first ride (63 Custom) should have been. What was the source of the whine and what was the background music, loved that too !
It just goes to show that any car (even a wagon) can be a muscle car.. I like to see cars that’s not what everyone else is building
lots of variety at South OC the two times I've been bugattis beside hot rods.
its two tire fryer! unless your tires actually catch on fire! that wagon is looking so nice lucky.
During a burn out you don't fire the tires, you fry the tires. Therefore it would be a two tire fryer.
Two tire fryer... because you are frying tires.
2 tire fryer if you can spin and smoke both tires at the same time.
I'm 78,I still fry the tires on my '04 C5
Can’t wait to see what all you do to Rusty Nutz. Such a cool ride.
Thanks!!
Where there is smoke, there is Fire.
After all those years working for foose, I understand you taking your time working on stuff.
...what ever happened to two wheel peel?
Can you do the howl again. LOL
Amazing work! Is the ride tech 4 link the universal 9” setup?
I have a 71 fastback mustang and looking into either lowering leaf springs or just replacing with a 4 link and upgrading to shockwaves later.
Thank you!!
In my HS days back in 59-63 we always were "peeling out" when we left a friends house to piss off their parents😁 so I would have to say 2 Wheel Peel.
Approved LOL " "peeling out" when we left a friends house to piss off their parents"
Finish the ol’girl.
Thanks Lucky. Nice content with GREAT background music.
Thanks
New subscriber here
You can only call it a fire if something is burning. Nice wagon
Welcome and thanks for subscribing!!!!
two tire fryer !!
"Wylie Wagon"
You are the hardest workin senior citizen I know of! Keep Rockin it Luck!
Thank you! Will do!
The rear end installation music is killer. I don't know who it is, but 🏆
Appreciate that!!!
Two tire fryer.
I hate to go against my girl Alex, but if you are frying the tires it’s a 2 tire fryer!! Sorry girl.
Thank you!!
Two Wheel Peel
2 tire fryer
Nice wagon., I Saw one racing at the salt flats in Utah once. It was a lot of fun to watch. Your wagon is way nicer though.🇺🇲🙂
Thanks 👍
@@luckysgarageshow You're welcome.
Fryer!
fryer
I’d say it was a two tire fryer not a two tire fire
Thank you!!
Equalized smoke distribution
I heard you say that on 1 of the shows
This rig is Supa dope!
big fan of this channel and keep up the strong work!
Appreciate it!
Lucky is slaying it! I friggin love that old war wagon.
Thank you!!🏁🏁🏁🏁
Paint and body deserve the same as drive train.
wutryunutz?
I usually don't even consider fords... diehard GM guy, that loves GM wagons more!
**i was conceived in a Chevy Citation, and arrived home in a 76 Monte Carlo**
Lucky you got me looking for a Mercury Wagon for my next project!!!
I approve of this build
I call that beast my mom's first car. Lots of bad memories, because I busted the back window with my skull during a crash.
I like the music, is it what the style you like or just filler. Love to watch and learn from you. Didn't have the benefit of builders on the east coast when I was growing up. Learning lots as a 61 year old.
Oh wow, there are indeed some rooms between the rear axle & fuel tank! It would be nice to make a box to hide the compressor in that space.
Two tire fryer better than the one wheel peel any day ! Dig wagons, they are a party ready to happen whenever you like 👍
It’s a TWO WHEEL PEEL!
👊🏻
Call it Coyote Ugly!
I love it!!
Party on Lucky
Thank you!!
