Lockers make a huge difference, I need to rebuild the limited slip in the rear of the zj. I’d recommend a selectable locker if you can afford it, I have a lunchbox in the front and has made street driving a little sketch
Awesome zj just put a lunchbox in the rear of my 98 swapped a 231 and a 44hd axle a few weeks ago. Stock 30 up front (open) im not too worried about it on 31’s tho. Really awesome rig
@@jeepsquad1822 yea the 30 up fromt is factory untouched even the cv driveshaft is still in lol. The rear swap was a direct fit (love these things) as well as the 231. The MVF shift linkage is well worth the money too
@@silboersma4774 probably not, the xj is my friends, the zj is mine, which has a Ford 8.8 lsd in the rear, and hp30 trussed and sleeved with a lunchbox
Probably around 5in, started out as a rough country 4.5in lift, but now has metal cloak springs, and trussed axles that bumped the spring perches up a little. If you want more info let me know!
@@joshmammen4285 limited budget jeep builds are still awesome don't take it personally. I am almost 40 and I don't have lockers in my XJ yet either. If you have the 8.25 axle those things are more expensive than the rest. Keep on jeeping and having fun.
I'm building a 92 xj and this video just reaffirmed my thoughts on lockers. They are a definite must have.

Current 98zj, 4inch and longarm on 31s not locked articulation keeps all 4 on the ground and judicious use of throttle and air down can be tremendous
No locker No problem, ride your brakes where you have 1 wheel slip. This will help help get you through lack of flex + open diffs!
Had a 97 xj and had 3 96zj and currently 98zj, gotta say zj my fav jeep ever, but all quite capable even in totally stock trim
When you dont have lockers, stack rocks ;)

Nice! The 30 will definitly handle 31's if you want a direct swap that's a little stronger, find a high pinion from an xj and swap that in.

@@scottmalcum3472 ahh gotcha. I also have the MVF linkage, its great. I had thought about swapping the 44hd but I ended up going with a ford 8.8.
@@jeepsquad1822 from what i hear much better choice. 44hd has no aftermarket support 8.8 should be a bit stronger too
@@scottmalcum3472 Yeah, I haven’t done much to the 8.8 other than put a truss on it, the factory lsd in it seems to work well.
Don’t let the locker comments get to ya. Great job of drivin without rock bouncing it. Are you havin fun and on the trails is the question???
Thanks, we have a blast!
Nice jeep
Not everyone can afford lockers. We do what we can. I just bought a 95 ZJ. Lifting it, and Id like to run 33"'s.
Part 2 please :D
Probably not until the summer, we were having jeep issues the second time we went so not much footage got recorded sadly.
Lakin Light
Please purchase a dang locker.
Lockers*
Locker will be coming to the xj soon, but it’s rocking stock axles, lp30 and a d35.
@@jeepsquad1822 lockers on a lp30 and d35?? That is wild.

Definitely needed at least one locker.
I absolutly agree.
Daugherty Mountains
Casimir Pass
Aniya Forest
Kassulke Avenue
Axel Causeway
Crooks River
Lock in your axels. Oh you can’t.
Rice Center
Conroy Ferry
Gorczany Drives
Elton Terrace
Zieme Springs
Huels Neck
Lee Laura Hernandez Susan Johnson Robert
Young Paul Robinson William Lewis Thomas
All that work to the lift, and no lockers. SMH.
Couldn't watch.
The Zj is locked in the front lsd in the rear, xj is open for both
buy me a locker and we will make another video lmao we are college students
