- My name is Araf, and in this video I visit the Metrocentre shopping Centre in Gateshead, Newcastle, England.
Metrocentre is a shopping centre and entertainment complex in the Dunston area of Gateshead. It is located on the former site of Dunston Power Station, near to the River Tyne.
Metrocentre opened in stages, with the first phase opening on 28 April 1986, and the official opening being held on 14 October that year. It has more than 300 shops occupying over 2,000,000 sq ft (190,000 m2) of retail floor space, making it the second-largest shopping centre in the UK, behind Westfield London. Additional retail space can be found in the adjoining Metro Retail Park and MetrOasis.
I hope you enjoy the video! Have a great day!

Looks a lot like a Chinese indoor commercial pedestrian street, thank you for this video showing the Metrocentre Shopping Center in the UK.
Glad you enjoyed 😊 I'm making a video of Durham next which I'm sure you'll enjoy!
Nice to wear a sweater for shopping, it is absolutely HELL around the Mediterranean sea right now..
Yeah must be so hot there now!
Apparently this is the second biggest shopping centre in the UK 😮 hopefully I can go to the biggest soon 😎 hope you enjoyed the video!
In America we have a store called TJ Max, I thought I was losing it at first when you called it TK Max
In Canada, we have Winners, Home Sense which are under the same parent company TJX. I am surprised TJX hasn't rebrand Winners into TJ Max.
I think it's the same but we just have a different name for it 😂
@@wpgc2 right!!
Apparently when TJ Maxx opened in the UK in 1994 they saw the UK chain T J Hughes and changed to T K Maxx to avoid 'confusion'.. useless fact I found out last weekend 😂
great content, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it 🙏
cuteee
😁😁😁
Nice vid mate. Been to Gateshead but not sure I've ever popped into the Metrocentre, but to be honest - since visiting Kuwait & their mega malls, every mall since is a bit underwhelming.
Cheers mate! Yeah I know what you mean 🤣 Even being in China and going to the local shopping malls they’re far better than anything here, can be very underwhelming haha. The metro centre used to be great when they had a theme park inside, but they took it all down. But if you’re ever in the north east it’s definitely the best shopping centre around
Miniso is actually chinese. the brand comes from guangzhou, China🤣also to my surprise
Ah right! Yeah I was surprised I found it here 😂
Yes I was looking for this comment :) I was surprised too. The're using a lot of Japanese design as a marketing strategy and it's working 😊
nice shopping mall Araf.. what's the property price up there like.. compare to the south.. might move up there..
Glad you you enjoyed 🙏 It's much cheaper from the south and you get slot more for your money. There has been a lot of people recently from the south that have bought property in York and Durham places like that especially after the pandemic when people were locked in small places with no garden in London. I think 250k gets you great home, gardens and nice area
That's a but stop stason three neare whare you had KFC
Ah right
Dragon ball z
It's great isn't it 👌
