First Glance is the seventh studio album by Canadian rock band April Wine, released in March, 1978. First Glance became April Wine's first gold record outside Canada.

One of their best albums. Saw them live 3 times in the 70's and they were great. RIP Myles.
This album and Montrose 1st album and UFO Force It.....are my favorite's...pure rock "n" roll.....!

Great Canadian BAND !!!
One of my favorite bands! Saw them open for Nazareth in Detroit in 1981. They were great! They began their set with Oowatanite.
Seen them in St.Louis a couple times and they opened with that. What a way to get you off your ass right from the get go. Thanks Jerry Mercer you kick major butt.

I bought FIRST GLANCE , in 1980, after having Harder Faster in 79, and hot on the wheels of Nature of the Beast. I loved this album!! Great tracks! Myles had such a cool voice. This guitar pick sliding sounds like saws. One sexy song with cool lyrics. Miss those days.
I thought the 'string rubs' Myles was doing on his Les Paul were dogs barking the first rime I heard "Get Ready For Love." That's one of the cool things about guitars, though!

How this album did not become #1 , upon release , is almost as mind-blowing as the album itself . Not their only killer album either , as Harder Faster , & Nature of the Beast would both do much better . April Wine is the Lynyrd Skynyrd of Canada . Silver Dollar is a fine finish to an awesome break out album . These guys are legend in America , & have been since the early 80s . The establishment censored them out , favoring the ones that paid for exclusivity . It certainly wasn't for lack of talent & writing skills ! The fans have always known better ! This is what Rock should sound like , feel like , & be like . They lost that vibe , trying to control it for money . Free , can't be held in a cage .

Okay for starter's, I'm a middle age just average Joe but I need a explanation for something that's been on my mind for a long time but answer me this ? Why isn't the brother on the drums 🥁 on the video on the Album cover? Really man ? Because he had to be the best or one of the smoothest , hard hitting, a true fresh meaning of playing some sweet drum melody's man? I have always wanted to know why he wasn't well his photo included because it should have been. Love these jam's man. Oh and if you wanted to know what I'm talking about the video "April wine " ' Roller".
