Yes she just knocks it out everytime all the actors and actresses portray their character in such a believable way and draw us into all things Sanditon
She is absolutely brilliant throughout! I love her salute and very serious request to speak to Col. Lennox. And yes, that particular line is superb. I can't get enough of Leo.
Second Best Scene: I feel there are few things sexier that a man can do than live a life of integrity. Yes, BLH kills it with the puffy sleeves and the whole Regency silhouette, but sexiness resides between the ears, and with AC, it does not help our plight as observers that we are dealing with one heck of a sexy man. When he hugs his deceased wife's child, who is wise beyond the perch of childhood, and promises her he will be a better father, I lose it and melt. It's a profound moment that warms CH’s affection and says so much more than just the words being spoken. This simple but powerful scene is an overt demonstration of love that is appropriately rare in the show. Except for The Dance, with that exquisite dip and the cello’s tender adagio, with her hand clasped to his chest and the impenetrable lock of their eyes, and with words that sear through his isolation and bare his soul, the Better Father scene is my favorite. Breathing through either scene is not easy.
Well, that was SO beautifully said, Mary ❤️ ❤️ Thank you. And absolutely spot on. For Xander to have been right there next to Lennox, knowing how Leo was conceived, and to take her in his arms and profess that he will always be her father... that is a man who has set aside his own deep feelings about how it all happened in favor of the innocence of the child in front of him. I was already in love with Alexander Colbourne by that point, but I fell off a cliff after that scene. ❤️
Yes I agree. I think it is a revelation to himself how much he loves his daughter Leonora. I love the tenderness of the hands brushing against each other when he asks Charlotte to take Leo home. There is a scene in “North and South” where Margaret and John brush hands and fingertips when she serves him a cup of tea. It’s beautiful just like this scene. Such a simple thing but shows the deepening of their feelings for each other in both stories.
Love every word you said AC and CH caress each other with there eyes and as you say it is sexy beyond words 💜 calming his horse scene is also filled with the same eye play and it is one of my favorites and I think that she captured his heart at that moment
Little Leo AMBUSHED Colonel Lennox. He never knew what hit him. It's good that he showed a smidgen of decency and didn't tell Leo the truth. He's no paternal type, but I suspect that he will keep Leo's tin soldier as a keepsake of his offspring (I won't call her his daughter - she's Colbourne's daughter in every way, apart from biologically).
This is my favorite scene and the one I'll come back to on that long wait for season 3. I love the scenes with Leo and Augusta, so sweet and endearing.

OT, but at first I wondered where Leo got her child-sized uniform, boots and tin soldiers - especially considering how much her father is against her being a tomboy. I suspect they were once his and/or his brother's. Leonora must've found them in a trunk in the attic at some point! And little Flora Mitchell is doing a phenomenal job as Leonora! I hope that we see even more scenes with Leo and Augusta in Season 3! 💖💖💖
Lots of discussion about that -- whether it belonged to a relative and she found it in the attic. Or possibly even that it was a coat left behind by Lennox before she was born. We need a military history buff to tell us the age of the jacket, and when that type was worn by the British Army. Anyone out there that knows? ❤️

I know this clip is about Leo but I think Frazer quit after seeing this incident with a child an then the unpaid debts. I think he had enough of following an unworthy colonel.
Very observant. Yes, absolutely. You can see Fraser watch Lennox push his men out of the way, and he's been watching him scheme and gamble, and probably much worse that we didn't even see. He knows he can do better than serve a man like that ❤️
