  • In heaven our sin nature has been completely defeated. Since the wages of sin is death, Rom. 6:23 but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, it is clear enough that the gift of eternal life in Christ ends our sin. He died to sin; we died with Him. In this episode Dr. E breaks down free will and election as it relates to our life in heaven.

Ha! Yes, you all definitely filled the punch card! Love this answer, and it’s a lot to consider. My non-denom upbringing taught me that God gave us free to will to choose him or not choose him, as an expression of love, so that we wouldn’t just follow Him blindly like robots. While that is true, kind of, God also knows all things over all time, so of course He would know what choice we ultimately make. After listening to your response, it makes sense to me that no matter what choice I make, God already knew I would make it. Your arch analogy is a great illustration of this. So if God already knew I would choose Him, it would seem to take a lot of pressure off me worrying about friends of mine that don’t yet believe. Then again, maybe God’s plan is that we tell the good news to our unbelieving friends, they accept by faith, and also get to go through that arch for which they were pre-selected to go through. As far as the nature of free will in heaven goes, the devil and sin nature won’t be there, so I guess we’ll still be making choices just free of sin. Sin-free choices are still choices, just without the negative consequences. If the devil was never in the garden, I guess we’d still be there. Followup question would be, why was the tree put there in the first place? I’ll have to start a new card, ha! Thank you!

Really just read the title. How can there be a rejection with a body that does not have flesh? Now there is not many hints about this new creation in heaven. New bodies. I don’t think the temptation to fulfill a need illegitimately would arise. Now I’ll watch.
