At the same time as the Ghadir Khem Eid day, at 17:00 today, Tuesday, the fifth of Tir , the 10 km party of Ghadir in Tehran started.
This year's party is significantly different from last year's, and that is the starting point, which started from Damavand Street, Sablan Intersection (Imam Ali Highway) and continues to Azadi Square.
Of course, from around 16:00, the processions started their activities with the presence of people.
2,200 people's processions from delegations, religious organizations, Arbaini processions, etc. welcome people in this great celebration.
In 4 places of Imam Hossein Square, Ferdowsi Square, Revolution Square and Azadi Square, the main platforms of the celebration with the presence of speakers, eulogists, singers, actors and hymn groups are standing.
Eid al-Ghadir (Arabic: Eid al-Ghadir) is the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah in the lunar calendar and is one of the biggest Shia holidays. Shiites believe that Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, has nominated Ali as his successor on this day.
According to a long-standing tradition, Shiites also celebrate Ghadir Kham Eid in mosques, takayas and religious groups such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and other Muslim holidays and hold large gatherings. On the other hand, Sunni Muslims do not celebrate Eid Ghadir Khum and do not accept the Shiite belief of succession after Muhammad. Of course, Shiites consider Ghadir Eid as the biggest Muslim Eid and it is the most important religious Eid among Shiites. Ghadir Eid is also known as Eid-ul-Akbar. This day is an official holiday only in Iran.
