Great video Jayson. I had three ceremonies last year and I've really been struggling as to what-to-do-now sort of stuff. I found integration to be really hard and seeming to be almost impossible in my life situation. For a few months after coming home, I found it really difficult and felt like I was having a breakdown. However, I also see it from the mother's perspective (or what I perceive her perspective would be) which is that none of this is a bad thing, and it needs to be like this so we can develop. I love Belinda's comment that we are taking it into the world, even if we don't realize or understand it. I think also that just by being, we are integrating. A big problem for us brainwashed guys is that we think we need to DO so much, and we need to do something to make things happen faster. Like there is a way to speed up our integration or initiation or something, but maybe there's not and it just happens when it happens. It's also our ego trying to control things and get on top of everything. I just listen to icaros and know the mother is working her magic on me, even if I can't always tell. I also think another great way to connect to the mother and integrate is with plants; using plants, any local plants or herbs that you can grow. And if you can, it would be awesome to go on your own plant dieta. Anyway, this is long for a comment, but thanks for the video. You seem really cool and it's great for people to talk about this stuff.

This whole concept of integration is a big deal in the western world and not in the indigenous societies simply because integration is a concept of the mind. Keep in mind that western societies and people are completely ravaged and controlled by our mind and ego and we have to figure everything out mentally. That itself is the seed of our own destruction. So integration is something we put on our timetable as we go back into our linear, controlled, packaged, left brained life. The people of native societies don't have to do this because they are simply being the change that has happened to them rather than thinking their way through it. Half of the problem is that we get back to our old environments and we feel a disconnect with it- that it doesn't fit anymore, and that inner conflict makes us very uncomfortable so we feel we need to integrate more. Instead, we just need to switch off our mind and stay with the feeling. Just feel your way through it. After all, the journey didn't happen through thinking- it happened as a result of switching off your thinking mind and allowing things to flow through. When you come out of the ceremony or journey, your ego will try to build itself again and that's why it often recreates the same life as before.

Thanks jayson and all to pin point something so important for people that get initiated to the plant teacher ayahuasca. I have experienced the mother plant last year and I have worked with three Shamans. Specifically, I had done a 14 days retreat and beside some round of group sharing the facilitator did not offer any real integration work. In discussing the impact that participation in the ayahuasca experience can have on an individual’s life is an active part of the Integration Work done during the retreat. But rather than just mentally and verbally discussing the Integration Work offered in these retreat you are invited and guided to enter right into the lived phenomena and embody it: Be an expression of or give a tangible or visible form to the lived experience. We can do this, embody the experiences that ayahuasca gift us with, by staying present in the body, mind and soul, for example, through yoga work, like breath-work, body-work, mindfulness; and, manifesting the experience into tangible or visible forms, for example through the work of creative and expressive arts. Both yoga, meditation and creative and expressive arts can be utilized as non invasive, non directive healing disciplines whereas witnessing and being witnessed affects the electromagnetic waves carrying messages or signals into our own life. Through Yoga, Meditation and EAT we can incarnate the Ayahausca teachings and visions. Integration work can empower us with a new set of equipments and skills, used for example to inform our brain neurotransmitter, to generate a competitive, as good as or unique than others, course in our life.
Integration work then becomes a unique opportunity to provide spiritual learning with a physical form; and, provide a physical form with a spirit. Thus empower your Spiritual Being to live in a complete balance between the body, mind and soul. What this means in fact is that mental life finds itself nourishing a physical life and the other way around in a continuous flow of unfolding manifesting energy. Now if you allow me as a retreat participants I was disappointed to see that the facilitator were not implanting none of this integration work beside brief verbal sharing. This is one of the reason why I have decided to organize and facilitate ayahuasca retreats in Peru to bring my experience as yoga and expressive arts therapist to facilitate people to do such integration work. Naturally there is no panacea as we are unique but for sure I know that people will have an opportunity to witness and be witnessed while the allow what I name the 6EXPs to unfold. The six EXPs, which are exploring, experimenting, experiencing, expressing and expanding are important stages that allow a complete life development and realization. naturally this development and this realization is as unique as each individual that partake an ayahausca retreat. One of the fundamentals is to come to a complete acceptance of whatever development and realization manifest and acceptance my also require a little doses of cynicism, the Buddhist way, where I am preoccupied only with my own existence as by knowing yourself you accept yourself and most probably transform yourself as authentically as you are and trust that by changing yourself you are inevitably changing your surrounding (fully or partly). This is just my interpretation the great thing that in the integration work everyone is allowed to their own interpretation as long they embody them. Blessing! Giuseppe Rosato and if you are considering taking a ayahuasca retreat with integration work pls visit www.eventbrite.ca/o/giuseppe-rosato-ma-yt-eat-giusepperosatogmailcom-7837286649 or write to giuseppe.rosato@gmail.com. Sorry if I was too long but I hope that some of the above might bring some little light. Last but no least important I am super excited to be going to Peru and facilitate integration work to the next generation of ayahuasca initiates.

More things that help me integrate are Qi Gong, or books on energy work. Becoming conscious of the aura and learning how to bring awareness into the body, which is a field of intelligence, delivers a big bang for the buck! The more I occupy my space and learn to be aware of energy, the more access I have to my own information. The body is always connected to the field of all knowledge, but most of the time, we live in our thoughts. Good luck. Thanks for spreading consciousness!

    Hey Jayson,
    Thanks for posting this video.
integration is the whole point of the experience, and as yo know, the biggest challenge. As my teacher Leonard Jacobson says, waking up is the easy part. The hard part is exactly this - how do I live in such an unconscious world, given these revelations.
Leonard is an amazing being and his teaching is extremely practical. It is very simple.
    Enjoy!

This is really tough for me as well. One of the best things that help me is just this-communicating with others. It relieves the burden a little. I have always dreamt of making a weekly podcast on these very sensitive topic matters. It could blossom into something bigger in its own time.

Thank you, I appreciate your honesty and I completely understand where you are coming from. For me, what has helped me the most is having a practice and doing it every day. My current practice is meditation which I find extremely helpful.I think whether it is meditation, yoga, or breathing techniques. It is imperative to do it ever day, and ground yourself.

Great point. What helps me is vipassana meditation. You can google shinzen young, break through pain for a great description. He has some videos on you tube. No dogma, just techniques that help ground in the body. Also, books by Arthur janov, Alice miller, John Bradshaw: learning to become aware of deep primal pain arising and how to release it. Understanding psychology helps! Good luck on the journey.

If any of you are interested in trying Ayahuasca in a traditional way, or are looking for any sort of advice or help integrating your Ayahuasca experience, we did a really interesting talk with Meriana Dinkova, who specializes in Ayahuasca therapy, and hosts regular Ayahuasca retreats down in Peru, where people are able to do the traditional Ayahuasca ceremonies with a Shaman. She is actually holding one this coming July (2014) in Peru. Just look up Free Radical Media on youtube, and you will find it in our videos. (No Spamming or Ego Glorification intended, just the sharing of important information on often times misunderstood substances like Ayahuasca, and other entheogens alike.)

mm just be it, be the change. keep remembering that place and the love until it becomes you more, practice creating the feelings u get and the person u become or want to be from the trip and translate it into your situations, i think it automatically influences you(integrates). i think what u love and find fun are good things to focus on or remember, at times, perhaps when your questioning. i dont kno, thats some ramblings from me at this minute (i havnt done any hallucinogens)

Not sure I understand your difficulties, but I want to understand. I take ayahuasca while following a shamanic path in the 3D world. That helps. Setting spiritual intention also helps. What we receive is not always meant to be understood by the mind, but is energetic puzzle piece. As far as taking your understanding into the world, lots of healing must come before you reach it. Be patient. You ARE taking it into the world, by simply healing yourself, and energetically holding that space.

I've had similar experiences such as seeing visions, traveling to other dimensions... (through out of body experiences.) I just read about Ayahuasca 5 months ago and I'm extremely interested!! Can someone please share how they went about the process of partaking in the ayahuasca experience? I've never traveled outside the states, don't have a passport, I'm not rich and don't have many friends so how would someone like me travel to Peru to partake in a ceremonial ayahuasca healing??

Hey everyone, I would also like to give everyone that takes this medicine a deep bow.
I can relate as I have struggled with integration. I just got back from a Dieta in the Amazon, and some things are really synchronizing and also falling apart at the same time. I can feel peoples energy right away and its having a negative effect on me and the through process.
Also, my sexual energy is through the roof. Most would say this is great, but I am married and also around other (should I say willing women) more often than ever before. Im finding this very difficult and its having an effect on my thought process. Feels like i'm sticky, if that makes any sense.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

I was hoping to resolve this desire by working with aya, as I'm about to be in an environment with a lot of temptation. I wouldn't want to go in the other direction, as I am married as well. Do you think if the intent was set strongly during ceramony, that this is something that could be worked through?

I've taken Ayahausca about 8 times, nowhere near your 30 number. I'm also struggling with integration. I had a vision that I could share my experience with others simply by willing it, but when I checked the next day, no one else had a moment of bliss from my willing it so? The proof is in the pudding, from a Western rationalist perspective I need a scientific, rational proof that what I experienced was real. How do I prove to myself it is real, what experiment can I pose that will provide objective evidence as proof?

I see you seeking answers to life's questions and I like your relationship advice. Have you ever read the Bible and explored Jesus Christ, God's gift to all mankind who will receive Him? Please do. I recommend starting with I'm the gospel of John. You seem very sincere and those who diligently see God will find him, according to scripture. Blessings to you and your family.
