Man this is really special. I hope Trent hears it at some point. It reminds me of his current style and how they might reapproach the track if they were to make it now. Really gorgeous work.
This is awsome! I´m a big NIN fan, too and your version of this song is dope. I really dig the modulated synth sound instead of the piano. I really would like to see a tutorial, which device you used for which part. Thanks!🎶
Thanks a lot! I wish I had the time and patience to create such a tutorial video. But briefly, the piano sound - left hand (which is a modulated sine wave here) comes from minilogue xd, and the right hand comes from Argon, another sine wave but heavily manipulated this time. The bass is from Korg R3 (I tried to mimic a typical Korg MS-20 bass sound), the pad that sounds like a guitar is from micro freak, and the drums come from model:cycles. All are sequenced through MPC One. Also, all the other synths are either sources for FX or modulation for other synths. I hope this helps :)
Yeah this earned a subscribe man. Really epic skills. I am a synth nerd and this is NOT easy. You must have put many hours into this. Can’t wait to see what else you do.
Thanks a lot. It might sound confusing but I'll try. There are one mixer, the main sound card, and a sound card for the FXs. All the instruments (except MPC and model:cycles) are connected to the mixer - which has 2 aux out. One is connected to the FX pedal chain (the pedals might not be visible in this video) plus Plethora and the other one is connected to the Korg Kaoss, and both effect units are connected to the sound card which is connected to the main sound card. The aux I use for Plethora is adjustable, so I can control how much of the signal goes through from every individual channel. The second one is not adjustable, so it's just on or off for every channel. I have tried so many different options before, but this chain might be the most intuitive as I can adjust parameters from the mixer while playing around. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Michael. It's always such a pleasure to read comments like this. I hope Trent hears it at some point, too :)

This is awesome! How are you routing the Plethora x5 with MPC and synths?
