- Newly updated for 2020. Have you heard about the Lord of the Rings Mod for Minecraft, but have no idea how to get it up and running? This short tutorial will get you started. Enjoy! Note that this mod is compatible with the Java version of Minecraft only.
WARNING: When downloading the LOTR mod, make sure that the file extension is “.jar” and not “.jar.zip” as was shown in my video. It will cause issues with the game. You can simply rename the file or download again using a different browser.

Probably a stupid question but will this mod work on xbox one.. I've been looking for a lotr mod for awhile and this is definitely the best and one of the very few I can find. Is this only for computers or will it work for xbox also??
It only works on the PC Java version of Minecraft.

The process for downloading the mod and forge is similar, but I think it's the launcher that trips people up. Mojang seems to constantly update it nowadays.
I got a new computer a few months back and decided to install the mod, but the luancher had changed since your last video. So I had to figure this out on my own, lol.

@@thecriticalwookiee9321 i dont know how to make a server so me and my friends can play toghether. I watched mike's video, but that was in 2016 or 2017 and it doesn't work anymore. If you know how to do it or if you know a tutorial, can you please send it to me or explain?
@@dicu4838 I've never created a sever, so I'm not certain. However, I would advise you to do one of two things.
1. Go to the Lord of the Rings Mod Wiki and ask for help on creating a sever.
2. Look up more recent tutorials online for how to create a sever. Just be careful though, very few people still use 1.7.10, and the process might be different for newer versions of minecraft.

Don't get me wrong, if he is actually back, that's wonderful, but just going off precedent, it's very unlikely, and in the end, you'll just end up sad.

The mod says they are preparing to update Lotr mod to 1.15 in like a year. So good point to do vids again? Pls?
it already has been updated to 1.15 but i think it will have more content
It hasn’t been completely updated, they are doing it in chunks, it is a huge mod
I still play on 1.7.10 and I will until they completely update it to 1.15 also is it 1.15.2 because that's what I use unless I am playing vanilla for servers and stuff

Has anyone had a problem with the textures of creatures and equipment? Because when I hold an object in my hand, the inventory turns white and you can't see anything. on version 1.16.5 everything is fine but with 1.7.10 I have just such a problem.
Are you using Optifine or shaders? Try without if you are.

Why is it that when I click on the forge 1.7.10 after it’s done downloading it doesn’t bring me to the install client page but asks me how k want to open this file, so I need Winrar as whenever I try to use “C:/Profeam Files (x86)” etc, it does not seem to work? Please someone help, I would love to be able to play this mod as I am a huge Tolkien fan, and any help would be much appreciated!!!
You probably need to install Java.

Mike i have a question. How do i make a simple lotr server? I followed the steps from your old tutorial and the server rejects forge and the lotr mod. Please can you help me? It's my dream to create a server and play on it with my cousin and bro since 2018. If u see this plz help me idk what to do
I doubt really understand what you mean by rejects. Did you ever get it working?
@@mindofmike no that s the problem. When i try to create it works pretty normal the scripts and everything but when i try creating it says that it refuses the connection or the mod. I dont think you can explain it to me, but a tutorial will help a lot of ppl. And also since you responded i think a lot of fans (including me) would love to see a setup tour =)))

When i download the app on mediafire it says not working? Repair your download then repeat if I try again and it says jar but I'm using a android and I only have the Minecraft app and nothing to assist it.
Wait. You are trying to download the mod on an android device? You realize the mod only works with the PC Java version of Minecraft right?

You must not have any mods of other versions of forge on the mod folder for the forge to load

For som reason whenever I try to setup the forge and I reload the launcher it doesn’t give me the new version labeled forge

Does this work if you have optifine installed? Because Ive been trying to get the mods folder to appear but I think it's replaced by ShaderPacks.
I use it with optifine. Should work fine. Install forge first and then place optifine jar in the mods folder.

Also, a question: Is it possible to re-increase the damage of the warhammers (I don't know how to do that, since they were nerfed in beta 35, scrolls can only help ever so much), as well as, the new alignment system doesn't allow positive alignment with two opposing factions at once, which means one can't play as a pacifist any more, is there a way to change the alignment decrease with alignment in two opposing factions?

Hey man. Long time no see. I’ll have to check on your questions. I remember there were ways to change weapon damage, but it involved altering the mod files.

Hi Mike, I did what you said but when I was launching forge it gave me an error message saying, The registry to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.
The system cannot find the path specified.
What does it mean I thought that you might know
It means you probably need to reinstall Java.
Great video Mike. I am having a problem with large structures spawning like Edoras, Minas Tirith and Mount Doom. I have redownloaded the mod twice but everytime I got to one of thoses locations it is just a very large hill. Any ideas on how to fix that?
i tried to run forge but it said that forge requires java runtime environment 1.6.0 to run. i was going to install this, but i have heard it can cause viruses and i don't know what to do.
Install the newest version of Java if you haven’t already.

Cant do anything with the download of forge. It doesn't install. All it does is ask what app to open with. What am I missing?
I have no clue if you'll see this, but here goes anyways. I followed your tutorial a few years ago and got this to work on my old laptop. I got a new one last year and I finally decided to get the mod again, but I've run into a problem. Once I open the forge file and enter after "install client" or whatever it is, I get an error pop up: "Downloading minecraft failed, invalid e-tag checksum. Try again, or use the official launcher to run Minecraft 1.7.10 first." Any ideas? I definitely have minecraft installed and working, so I don't know what the problem could be.
Have you added a 1.7.10 profile in the Minecraft launcher and run it first?

It is now like a half year later and i want to download the mod but i cant find the mod version used in this vid 35.4 i only ahve the mod version 36.9 so when i click on forge to download it the link is wrong who can help me out i rly want this modpack and nothing i do seems to help
