So happy to see someone get the word out about Bonfus. Their tents don't tuck any of my boxes but their backpacks are amazing and I'd love to see more people promoting them.
Thanks for posting these interesting and inspirational videos, which are also really helpful. I'm currently recovering from a head injury, and working through your trail films. They've given me lots of ideas for future hiking trips, and the fantastic scenery is a real joy to see.
Thanks for this honest review. As a Bonfus tent owner I learned a couple of things. I like the way how you describe the pitching of the tent. From now on I’ll do it the Floor way 😊 When very stormy I learned that using 4 more guy lines is a good thing to do. There are 4 loops at every corner for that. This makes the tent very stable and reduces the flapping. Important to bring extra sturdy pegs. I even put some rocks on the pegs to keep them in the ground. The tent works also very well as a 2 persons tent. There is plenty of space and it’s warmer ;-)
Hi Floor, thank you for showing us this relatively unknown alternative to US tents. I only knew it from one of your videos. The price difference to the imported is unfortunately not as high as one would expect, but it's good to know an alternative Thanks a lot. Please keep it up.
Hey, just discovered your channel and really love your super upbeat energy! If you ever feel like doing a thru hike, the PCT🇺🇸 would suit you really well! (I'd suggest doing it sobo and skip the desert!) Great content, thanks! Greg
I own the older version without zippers spent like 100 nights in it and really love it. I agree to almost everything you said. However I always have a problem with the tub (it's more a floor than a tub), don't you have that issue? I'll try your way of pitching next time, maybe that helps. However and I also read it down below, one of the biggest downsides of a DCF tent is packsize. I have huge issues using it when bikepacking (since I can't carry much volume on the bike).
Hey! Thank you for pointing that out, I wasn’t aware. Thought their sewing team was based in Italy as well. They do state that their employees (a team of 13, if I’m correct) are compensated fairly, but it’s still a disadvantage when looking at it from an environmental standpoint. Definitely adding that to my feedback when I’ll be in contact with them! 🍀
Excellent review Floor. I Love the thought of 649 grams. I don't love the idea of spending the 749 Euro 😏. I settled for a Six Moons Luna Solo for a lightweight summer multi-Night tent which isn't that much heavier, and it's a darker coloured tent which i prefer. Not sure if its just me but i always sleep better in darker tents. ATVB
Hey Lorenzo! They are indeed very similar. I’d say the biggest difference are the measurements - the Bonfus is way bigger (therefore also a bit heavier). This one also has a zipper on the vestibules and the walls are closer to the ground. That makes it more waterproof in big storms, and sliiiightly warmer. And you can choose a silpoly floor for this one, which is a bit more durable than DCF fabric. I think these are all the main differences I can think of :).
Hi Floor, great review…. but it would have been nice to mention the price: 750€. I understand, since you got it as a gift, that it’s no concern to you, but for ‘normal’ folks, price is an issue. Anyway, love the videos, so thanks!
Disadvantage #4 : it’s Gucci/Versage price tag. However, for someone who spends a lot of time in a tent it is worth the crippled bank account ( if you’re not sponsored ). I try to get away with my Lanshan 2pro ( modified ) and a 6moondesigns Lunar Solo for a little longer until they fail on me
Thanks for the tent introduction, it's great to learn about another company beyond the big brands. The green dcf colour blends in with european woodland 💚
Really nice and honest review! Personally i wouldn't pick this tent just because of the price... but that's my oppinion. I've watched all your hiking videos and damn, you really tested that tent :p I was also wondering if you would make an advice video about the Dolomites and Travelbase? I'm really interested in that hike, that's why i'm asking - Greetings from Aalst, Belgium
Hey! I’m not planning on making a video on that, unfortunately. Feel free to ask me your questions in a dm on Instagram, I’ll try to answer if/when I have time!
Hallo Floor, leuke video!
More cons for a single-wall DCF tent: 1. They are really BULK and cant be compressed at all 2. If you decide to pitch it on uneven ground, it will take you lots of time and nerves. It's not easy at all 3. You can't put it on a really small pitch the way you'd able to put the normal tent with poles. It needs much more space
Being rather tall (191cm), I would like to know how much room lengthwise is available approx. 30cm above ground (so at the tip of one's feet and head). I always bump into either one or both ends of the tent...
Do your next review about the Falke socks, more people need to know about those 😂. So expensive, but I just live them, even for everyday use, I dont care😅.
I love your shirt ! Where is it from ? Sorry, i know the main discussion is about the tent but i really like watching your videos also because of your fashion sense ! I'm just happy not to have to bear with the coral orange from Decathlon.
Hahaha, I love this, thank you! Found this shirt in a vintage second hand store in Brussels, it’s actually an old YSL-shirt 🥵 Memorable day in my second hand clothing journey 🙌🏼
@@floordenil Oh niiice ! I feel you haha, especially if you bought it in those shop where you pay by the weight. I also live in Brussels, what shops to you recommend ? I love Think twice (especially on sale days).
@@lupa5817 Hahaha love the subject shift in this comment thread. I like Bison 4 (near Anspach), Melting Pot Kilo, Nectar (next to KFK, if I'm correct) and of course, Think Twice. I know St Gillis and Ixelles have some epic second hand stores as well, but I don't have specific recommendations for there!
Thanks for the compliment, I'm not wearing make up in this video :). Filmed this at home, so I wasn't camping here, hence the everyday clothes. But also - if I'd want to wear make up on trail, why wouldn't I? :D
Peeps! I forgot to mention the price in the video, which is €749,00. Not cheap, praying that DCF-fabric becomes cheaper in the future 🤞🤞🤞
Thank you for this review, but the price! OMG! A dealbreaker for me 😞
Alternative fabrics with comparable characteristics are already hitting the market but for a lower price

Thank you... And the naturalness of your expression between 11:58 and 12:01 that summarizes everything is priceless. 😁You are amazing...🤘
Thanks very much for sharing your experience!

Great description, thanks Floor! I may be wrong here, but although Bonfus is based is Italy, I believe their products are actually made in Mexico

Hi Floor, I was wondering what are the main differences between the bonfus Duos and the Zpacks Duplex that you previously own. Lorenzo.

Bonfus gear is not made in Italy. Made in Mexico.

To stay in touch with the theme here, i once found on Vinted a brand new Rab down jacket for 8€.

I wanted to like this tent, it is so light, available in the EU, and easy to set-up, but the condensation is what bothers me the most...
