I love how at 12:16, sonic style changes from pixel art to hyper realistic style, so it's like he's watching you no more from the game, so he can write "I am god" on the screen. Brillant. Easily my favorite part of the whole game.

I honestly find the pixelated version as it's appearing from the shadows a bit creepier than the more high def version that appears shortly after.
Like imagine being a kid not knowing what this is, playing it at night with all the lights out, only to be met by that haunting, sinister grin from one of your favorite childhood characters on your TV screen. Oh the nightmares that could invoke.
Man, if THIS was the version that came out back in 2011, I would’ve been scarred for life. The original Sonic.EXE didn’t creep me out that much, aside from the “I Am God” screen, but this version just leaves me feeling uneasy and tense. Honestly creeped me out at times. That dead Knuckles portrait would’ve haunted my nightmares if I’d seen that shit in 2011.
Yeah most of the time even if those cringy half life 2 scream memes came out in that time, they would all be considered as some kind of creepypasta for example
I like how in the Knuckles and Eggman levels, Sonic.exe attacked them after a time when they reached a certain trigger, rather than immediately after it was reached. It creates an atmosphere that the monster is really looking for you. The problem with many EXE games is that they are heavily scripted, and when you just stand still, nothing happens. Here, at least such moments are a little less

Everything about this game is LEAGUES beyond the original. Every victim is brought to their wits end before being finished off, the backgrounds are amazing, the tension isn't brought in by cheap loud noises, and the demon writing "I am God" ON YOUR SCREEN is a fantastic way to send it off. I wish this was the original. I genuinely do.

I gotta say, I REALLY like the additional sprite work done here. It definitely feels like a fully fleshed out project, even if it is such a short experience.
I like the remade sonic.exe sprites, makes him look like lord x which is kind of funny.
Plus this scene 12:26 right there is the best way to adapt the "I AM GOD" message while breaking that little fourth wall honestly it's just soo cool
this remake is mostly cool but a little spooky if you have a weak heart to it, the souls how they're shown to be dead now is honestly more nicer than the older 2011 fangame about the creepypasta

I love it, it adapts so much to the original but giving it a much, much, more polished quality than the original game, almost like an omt merged with pc port, good gameplay 👍
but there is one thing but that this remake is slightly lower than Sonic Limited edition Lost cartridge .

I remember the original gave me nightmares as a young kid but that’s just because we were young and out minds were less developed seemingly giving way to things we could never forget in our nightmares..specifically this!
The creepypasta is still bad, no way around it, but the execution of it in here is very commendable, to say the least, well done. The definitive way of experiencing this creepypasta
the creators of this remake really cared about their job and made a good one. Proof? The small details, at 12:27 when Sonic.exe writes his iconic line after switching to a hyper realistic style, you can hear the noise of sliding fingers over glass, like if he’s literally on the other side of the screen watching you.
This is how it looked like to me when the Creepypasta was made all those years back, man this truly brings back a lot of memories
a huge round of applause, to the guy who cooked this tremendous remake. Son of a bitch, I didn't think the screamer at the end was going to be like that and I had planned it, but not that way. The tension that existed at each moment was horrible. Something that I think I would have liked is that when he writes 'on the screen' I am god. I would have been encouraged. But still anyway, I can't wait for people like LuigiKid or Markiplier to play this.

I remember when the original game freaked me out sorta as a kid. Nowadays it's really silly to me but it's nice to see some sort of remake.

I’ve never played a sonic game, so I’m not sure what exactly is going on. But I really enjoy the creepy music (which is the aspect that unsettles me the most!)& general unease. If I saw this when I was younger I would’ve been terrified! Great animation, please make more. I LOVE this this weirdcore type videos

Basically there was this sonic creepypasta named “sonic.exe” which is basically a demon possessing the game and turning it into a gore fest, eventually this awful creepypasta became very popular which attracted several imitators till it stopped being popular, nowadays that creepypasta came back to popularity but this time reimagined by those who played the fan games and loved the creepypastas of .exe’s, this are remakes based on what we remembered how that creepypasta was “a hells escape controlled by a GOD”
The fear and surprise in tails with our first meeting with the demon
The impotence of Knuckles fighting a power far beyond he’s retconning
Eggman’s paranoia for the omnipresent threat
And Sonic.exe own god complex
All reimagined just has WE (the people who saw this same creepypasta a decade ago) remember it
Also this has nothing to do with sonic out of the characters
Interestingly the anxiety-ridden music is actually just reversed music from the original Sonic games OR just actual music from the games (like the intense chase music, which is the infamous "Drowning" music from the original games)

The original creepypasta is a dumpster fire of shit, it has zero redeeming qualities and it really didn't deserve a full game like this. Don't get me wrong, though, the game is beautifully made. It just lacks a lot in gameplay and fun factor. Walk simulators are not cool.
The original Creepypasta was Awful, I give you that, but a Necessary shit to have a lot of cool variations of the Hedgehog, like EYX and all of that, also the original creator was a p3do so, we can't have much expectations XD

This Version Of Sonic Was A Monster, A Pure Evil, Sadistic, All-Powerful, Nightmarish, Demented Monster...All Of His Four Victims, Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik, And Kyle, Are Just His Little Toys, And The Game Is The Very Gateway Into His Chaotic, Nightmarish World And The Very Hell His Victims Are Trapped In.
But as a smart gamer, I knew not to be afraid
i was clenching my teeth waiting for the cringy voice acting and mortal Kombat blood, but this remake made EVERYTHING the others did terribly wrong in a great way, up until the whole I am god and wallpaper bit, I would genuinely think this was an actual romhack, 9.5/10 (minus .5 for the voice acting bit at the very end tho...), cheers!!!
The only thing they missed was on not doing that last part with the japanese text and the ritualistic chorus, everything else is perfect

This EXE remake is amazing. Especially the “I Am God” screen. The game is a lot more terrifying now. My only complaint is the laugh. I wish they’d keep the original EXE laugh. But other than that, I liked it. 10/10.
It was just Kefka from FF6 anyway, more original this way.

Nah, its a remake of the original game. It either deletes itself, or doesn't let you delete it unless your PC is in Safe Mode. The latter is probably a bug, and I believe it's supposed to delete itself. Nothing that'll kill your PC in it tho, so all good
