Yamaha is even worse, because it isn't even consistently bad, it goes all the way from "Pacifica" which is an excellent name, to "RBX-374" which... is not.
@@iandavies8741 Yeah, when they stick to it it's brilliant. The first number is for quality, second is pickup configuration and whether it has a pickguard and the third tells you if it has a trem or a fixed bridge.

I think there is a video on youtube somewhere where he's on some talk show or being interviewed and the whole thing about him being a meme comes up and he talks about it.

Just wanted to say, I have just started picking guitar up again after about 2 decades of life. And I really appreciate your channel love your videos and also picks are cool 😎
I've tried just about everything trying to increased the grippyness. My first go-to is to heat up a wound guitar strings red hot and laying in to melt lines across the top. It works okay, but you have to get the right pattern or it's irritating. Rubber cement works, but it tends to peel off easily. I REALLY like the Dava picks, I always buy a few whenever I have up go to a store for Strings (I order them, my brand and gauge are NEVER in stock when I go to a shop, so I have up buy a set of Pure nickels in 10 & 11 gauge to mix heavy Low-E/A and Gs, and light D/B and High-E, ala GHS Eric Johnson nickel rockers). My problem is I prefer JAZZ IIIs, and they only ever have the standard Fender shape picks. *I'm willing to wager that SOMEONE will send you a can of that Flex Seal. I've used it an it is fu¢king amazing (though I used it as it was intended, didn't try to make my picks have better grip, but I will)
Now I feel like I need some flex seal! Here I’ve been fixing everything I can’t weld with JB Weld, that flex seal stuff looked pretty legit lol. Here’s to the next 10 years of me coating everything in flex seal! It’s gonna be big, kid!
My trick to non-slip picks. Take some DA sand paper with an adhesive backing. Cut the shape out with scissors. Peal tape off to expose the glue side. Stick it to the pick on both sides with the tip exposed. You can also use Band aide tape on one side and the sand paper on the other.
As affiliations go I can think of better ones to try and reach out to, but then, as you say, you do have a thing for guitar picks!! 😅😅 Keep the vids coming man, always informative, non bias (in my opinion) and entertaining. RUclips breath of non-affiliated fresh air. Thanks
Haven't watched the video to the end yet but regarding 0:48: there's no WD40 drumstick but for example Gore company (that makes Gore-tex and tons of other products) makes Elixir Strings. There's company in Poland that makes very common cash-registers and at some point introduced guitar effects brand (G-Lab). I'm too lazy to think about other examples but I'm sure there's more.
Rubber cement, the stuff magicians have relied on for decades when they need "magnetic" fingers. Not sure how long the picks would last due to solvents in it though.
There used to be adverts in the US guitar magazines for something called "Gorilla Snot!" That was supposed to improve your grip on the slippery little tortex B'stards! Wonder if that was the same concept 🤔
"Who named this? Ibanez?" LOL.
🤣🤣
You should see how Orient names watches. I love them, but damn, the names are impossible to understand and be recognizable
@@seabass3373 hahahaha yes!!!
This cracked me up.

Now knowing Phil Swift is an aspiring rockstar explains EVERYTHING.
Get rich or die trying!
I thought he was cool before. Now, I'm really a fan!
That's a lotta damage!

Hello multi-talent bro dude!!
These comments are thrashy
He is a fine replacement for Billy Mays.
Hey brother fancy seeing you here.
Merry Christmas
You too :D
Thanks man, have a good one
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
And to you my friend
Merry Christmas KDH!
I love how the focus of your videos can go from deep-diving serious journalism to something goofy like this. Thank you for the quality content.
I just realized that he looks like an Axl Rose + Steven Wilson mix
Idea 10/10, execution 5.4/10. Whole video 11/10.
I'm seeing 15.4/10 with this math.
This is the hard hitting investigative we don’t deserve. And you’re right, Ibanez naming system for their instruments suck.
Merry Christmas.
It makes perfect sense, the name tells you everything you need to know! I just have no idea what any of it means😂
Yamaha is even worse, because it isn't even consistently bad, it goes all the way from "Pacifica" which is an excellent name, to "RBX-374" which... is not.
Hey I love them, they make great wifi passwords.
Ibanez names remind me of how car nerds will refer to their car by the chassis code rather than the actual name of the car.

It’s also incredibly good marketing. Basically everyone knows what flexseal is and how it works. You can’t pay for advertising that good.
You should not fight your status if you become meme'd. Embrace it and become a meme God.

that's cool, wonder if drummers lol at a meme "that's alotta damage!" with him jamming, I know vid gamer circles luv to reference it . . .
"Who named this, Ibanez?"... that's pure gold.
"Who named this, Ibanez?"
Fuck me dead, that was good.
They can't keep it that short though!
HE should dip his sticks in FlexSeal! Also, yes this footage of him jamming is a total surprise!
You know... Drum sticks in liquid Flex Seal is actually a good idea.
@@onerandombruh /w\HELLA/w\
I was looking for flex seal on the sticks, was surprised they weren't dipped.
Phil working the double kick drum on the flex seal kit. The man is metal! And rubber, but still, metal!
And 5% cyanoacrylate based adhesive to create a suitable bond between them.
Burning rubber!
I've been dipping my picks in a product called 'Plasti-dip' for a few years now... I love it and will never go back to picks without.
If this doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit, then you may need some flex seal to patch up your soul
A virtual Flex Seal jam...it doesn’t get any better than that!!!...rock on my brother!!!
I’m at least 99% sure that if you ask Phil Swift to jam, he’ll agree
"...sometimes it's just me doing arts & crafts 🤷"
F'ing right, KD! 🤣🤣🤣👌👍
Just got the actual flex seal and test on some of my pics, and it actually works great. You inspired arts and crafts!!
How do they smell?
The Ibanez joke caught me off guard. Well done, sir.
Someone needs to get Phil on the line.
Also someone needs to smuggle some proper Flex Seal to KDH.
Your comedy is strong here.
“Now introducing the Gorilla Glue Wah, the stompbox you can’t take your foot off literally.”
Here's to another year of KDH
Does that make Phil's band a rubber band?
Okay, I'll see myself out.
2:15 the Ibanez slap had me cackling... bravo, sir.
To be fair, flex tape would be an amazing product for a touring musician
Finally, a Christmas post from my favorite Arts & Crafts channel😀
Watched this because the idea made me think of Dava picks. Glad he mentioned them, best picks ever. Great video to add to the flexseal lore
Just wanted to say, I have just started picking guitar up again after about 2 decades of life. And I really appreciate your channel love your videos and also picks are cool 😎
Welcome back!
I love this more comedic video style, would love to see more
Ahhh this is proper banter. Great content 🤘🤘
Channel is gold. Even when im not immediately interested in the topic you make me stay n watch till the end every time haha.
Hmmm. I wonder if you could have heated the HBS-200 up with warm water around the jar it was in, for that smooth silky finish.
Or use a paint brush.
“Sometimes it’s just me doing arts and crafts. Subscribe, or something, I dunno”
This is why we’re here…for this amazing realism lol

I see a new KDH video, I click it. Have yet to be disappointed.
Definitely top 5 best videos you've made. Very funny.
First time seeing a video, immediately subscribed! Enjoyed the content! Merry Christmas!
"How branded this, Ibanez?" had me wheezin
This is the Christmas present we all needed!
lol nice work with the unconsented collabo there at the end, sick riffs and lick!
"Who named this? Ibanez?" I died!
"Subscribe or something, I don't know, bye-bye" is how you got me to subscribe to your guitar minutia channel. For future reference.
Those woodies cutaway gags are class mate😂
LOL’d at the Ibanez quip! 😂
Hilarious!! On a serious note, pun intended, nice chops! Merry Christmas Brotha! 💚 🎸
Those picks coming out of that crappy forbidden sauce though! 🤣😂🤣😂
That was pure entertainment, and I thank you for it!

Use the spray it works better more even spread
This is so funny, this is the content we need
Now I make an Audio audit on how this video didn’t actually contain any flex seal coated guitar picks.
Now this is the real Christmas gift

If you ever do get some Flex Seal, try heating it up on a double boiler. It'll get it to the proper viscosity for dipping. Merry Christmas :)
This guy is pretty articulate at expressing his thoughts. He is a language master... Pretty funny indeed
Great Ibanez dig 😂
Love Dava pics for super strummy stuff.
Not the Chrimbo gift we needed, but the Chrimbo gift we deserve.
No lie, this is one of your best videos.
"Who named this? Ibanez?"
As I just bought an Ibanez SR600E this gave me a good chuckle.
His mother named him after his killer drum PHILs
"HBS-200 Liquid Rubber...who named this, Ibanez?" Shots fired!
I'd bet the spray flex seal would work. I may try it. Lol!! Happy Christmas, my friend.
The Ibanez dig is pretty good!
Holy crap.. that’s it, I’m gonna use nothing but flex seal picks, I bet they are packed with that flexilicious tone.
Rubber cement, the stuff magicians have relied on for decades when they need "magnetic" fingers. Not sure how long the picks would last due to solvents in it though.
Couldn't you peel the rubber cement off when you are done playing?
