    Hey! Thanks for the video, did take me some time to digest (complex shot). I understand now the difference between upper cut slice (high balls) and lower cut - upper finish (low balls). Back on the court tomorrow to practice. This time in front of the wall. Thanks!!!!

    Regarding the slice grip: the index knuckle is on Bevel 2. But what about the heel of the hand? Bevel 1 for a more closed racquet face or Bevel 2 for a slightly more open racquet face?

    great explanation. How about the wrist? Do you snap and extend your wrist down when and after you hit the ball? I think that is also a critical point

  • @germanslice

    I'm already starting to see this happen, This is why .I prefer to keep the racquet head facing more at the net just like MIlan says to because that allows me to be more agressive with the shot to put more pace and spin behind it to make the ball skim low over the net. Since making this adjustment with the racquet head to point it more towards the net, the hands are finishing behind me more as a result.......This allows you to rip alot more spin on the ball especially on the low short balls....Even if the ball is low, or halfway up in the court its still lifting it over the tape and skimming down to the baseline.... It also drops the ball short over the net as well with the spin.

    Ho do the movements to set up and swing through this backhand compare with what I consider the greatest backhand of all time, Ken Rosewall? The moves you are making are very similar to Ken's.

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  5 лет назад

      Thanks Larry for your comment and an interesting question. To be honest, I had to look up and check Ken's backhand slice :) I see your point, he definitely had an amazing slice with guiding and caring that ball very nicely with long and smooth after swing (this is what I talked about in this video). However his non-dominant arm wasn't so active which in my opinion gave some limitations to it. He didn't use it completely to counter balance the whole shot. Nevertheless, this was a true champion and a player to look up to!

      When I played about 30 years ago, that's how I was taught, too. All the groundstrokes are taught differently than when I was younger. That is due to the era of heavy topspin. BTW: I'm planning to return to tennis after a long absence. I'm really getting excited.

    2 types of slices the slice when the effect given to the ball is tjz contrary of the topspin and the slice when the ball rotate from right to left like the tournament of a planet i think two different slice

    Is there a way to attack a high and deep ball to your double handed backhand without the bouncing ala Safin BH for instance. Let's say we are using Eastern BH grip?

    You tube can be very confusing - I couldn't understand why Federer ends with the racquet behind/across him and not in front. Your video explains all this brilliantly - different technique for higher balls. Thanks for a great video.

    I keep watching videos about slice to get better but its very hard to me with contental.Don´t know why, but I simply cannot hit bh slice with continental. Seems so unatural to me, and my balls alwas look slow and very high. However, using something between continental and eastern my slice goes my better. Is it completely wrong? Any pro do that? Thank you. Geat video.

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  5 лет назад

      Thanks Joao for sharing your experience with us. I am glad that you brought that up. The reason why you have this slow and high balls with continental grip is that your racquet face at contact point is more open rather that totally square to the net. Also make sure that you lean into the shot with your full body, especially with dominant shoulder. Having the grip more towards the eastern probably subconsciously makes you square up that racquet face at contact or just helps you to get more backspin. Can't tell exactly without seeing it. You can send me short video of your slice, then I could tell you what's happening! :)
