I wish she was my neighbor/best friend
I wish I were rich enough to be Ina's neighbor lol. But yeah, she reminds me of my relatives who were also from Brooklyn. She's very warm and familiar, and she seems like she'd be a sweet, loyal friend.
Food Network has not been the same. The only show where there is one on one cooking is Pioneer Women.
What happened to shows like 30 minute meals and Everyday Italian. I watched all these chef in my childhood years. I want that kind of content back.
Yeeeeees same here I miss these shows I would watch them all day and now it's just competition shows i miss when i could tune in and be ooooo that looks good I'm gonna try that I couldn't agree more food network not the same
Yass... That's when F.N. was popping!!!!
Keely Vincent 👏🏻👏🏻
Big fan of sea food, this is appetizing
Just Some Guy without a Mustache me too
I was waiting for the "it looks like a lot of salt, but it's a lot of scallops"
Damn! Ina made me feel so poor again.. 😭
Omg. So many negative comments. Don’t people know how to be gracious any more. Where are your manners? Ina, you are a wonderful cook/chef. You inspire me when my imagination fails to. Thank you for the many years of sharing delicious recipes. I’ve made many of them and received rave reviews. I even bought your DVD some years ago. Best to both you and Jeffrey. You are such a lovely couple ❤️
I love her but she is dead wrong about cilantro.
I have ptsd when they whack the pit with a knife. I tried it one night and missed the pit and came down on my palm with a sharp sharp knife. Few stitches later I realized we didn't really need fresh avocado in my house ever again lol.
Ouch, yeah I've done that too but on my thumb, no stitches but a lil scar all the same. Now I just use a spoon....whew.
Audra Baldwin I whacked the knife and cut my finger. A few stitches later I realized a spoon works pretty damn well
You could just set it down on a cutting board and then hit the pit with a knife. I don’t know why people insist on holding it in their hands.
I missed the pit once got my husband five times in the neck
You could use a spoon, right?
She hates Cilantro and I hate Parsley - Parsley tastes too strong and earthy flavor. 😝
Cilantro is an ingredient that takes any dish it is in to the next level, hands down! If you are someone who thinks it tastes like soap that a genetic component that you have so I understand but it doesn't take away from what a great herb it is!
Couldn’t agree more with how Cilantro takes over.
Same here. it ruins everything it touches IMO.
Kay Alligood it’s because you have a gene that allows you to taste cilantro like soap. It’s not just you, it’s a genetic thing.
“I know it should be cilantro... but not when I’m cooking.” The SHADE OF IT ALL. 💯 agree, Ina!
It’s actually Coriander. 😂😂🤣🤣
@@swisspuppy I love CILANTRO!!
I agree Cilantro/Corriander takes over the whole dish! YUCK
I love how she says "I've lived on the eastern end of Long Island..." Girl, you live in the Hamptons. We all know you're rich, you don't have to hide it! lol
Oh poor Ina, she had to live on the edge of the island 🌴 soooo far away from Manhattan.
Yessss Connecticut lobster rolls are the BEST lobster rolls👌🏾
I personally used to hate cilantro with a passion. Like shouted-from-the-rooftops HATED. Until one day I had a Mexican dish requesting no cilantro and something just felt empty. So I acquiesced and allowed a tiny bit of cilantro the next time around. I couldn’t believe how much life it brought to the dish now that I added back in. Then the next meal that required cilantro I added more and then a bit more after that and so on. Now I am a cilantro addict. I apologized to every person I scoffed at who put cilantro in their dishes. Yes I was that rude to my own friends and family about it. Now I make Cilantro Pesto of all things. I can’t get enough. Thai, Indian, Korean, I always ask for extra cilantro/coriander. (I’m California Korean so cilantro with korean bbq is very common in my family. In fact we fight over the bunches of cilantro for our wraps). To this day my own mother recalls to friends and family about the time I yelled at the dinner table about how much I disliked the dish she made that had cilantro. (Yes people. I yelled at my own sweet innocent mother at the dinner table in front of everybody over my former hate for cilantro.) 20 years later and I’m still apologizing but it’s worth it because I love cilantro that much now. If people can grow up to enjoy beer and coffee and onions and salt&vinegar chips and learn to understand the complexities of their bitter flavors, then people can get used to cilantro. But I don’t mind if people hate cilantro. Helps keep demand at steady pace at grocers so it remains cheap (and in abundance) for me!
Don't feel so bad lol. I'm Mexican, and I used to hate cilantro. It's still not my favorite thing, but food definitely tastes better with it. Especially in pico de gallo. What I'm not crazy about though, is avocados. To me it's an overrated thing. Lol. And then my family will say "it's like you're not even Mexican". Lol. I'll eat it, I just don't think it's the best. 😂
Can I sit in a lime juice bath for an hour and be cured from Corona?
Boy, do I agree with Ina...once you've had a warm lobster roll with butter (I, like others, would add a touch of garlic to the butter and herbs) you won't go back to having it cold...unless that's all you're offered. In which case, of course you eat. Because it's lobster.
The lettuce is not bib, but Boston. Bib is small leaves, dark and very crunchy. My favorite.
Looks healthy and delicious.
You lost me with the cilantro substitute!
Lobster rolls looks delicious.
How the hell she do that to the avocado with just her finger!?
Joe Gibson all it takes is going to Urgent care once for avocado pit stitches
The avocado was ripe so the skin comes off easily
Eatin fettuccine pasta wit da scallops and da lobstah
I love Ina but I also LOVE my cilantro. I guess I have the right gene. Latin American dishes are not her forte but I’d be willing to try this. I also love her lobster cobb roll recipe.
I think she's right that cilantro can overpower, but a little actually goes a long way and gives it that authentic latin American flavor.
Aww.. you look so beautiful with your pop off color hair.... Look, at you!!!!
Mussels are one of my favorite seafood!
Her voice is so soothing and calming ❤️
How much would that amount of scallops cost in the states??
I agree, I much prefer parsley over cilantro, it's way to strong, better left for meats.
I would miss my mayo too much
100% agree about cilantro!!
Love seeing this indulgence right now ❤️
It's just silly to me that she precisely measures chopped garlic with a spoon - as if 2-3 more bits would kill the dish! - but she just pours sriracha straigh from the bottle...
I'm totally there with you. I was like just put all the garlic in why don't you
@@debbiep99 haha exactly!
Actually garlic is really strong. So putting to much would negatively effect the flavor
I am making this today.
Agree Cilantro is strong but great in pig feet dish.
Is there a recipe for your dish? If so, please share.
Ina doesn’t like cilantro?! Sriracha sauce in ceviche? What the heck is going on here! She just broke my heart. It’s not ceviche without cilantro.
왜 맛있는 요리를 즐기면 중국인이라는 말을 듣나요? 참 이상하죠?
Timmy Timato brought me here LOL😂😂😂😂
I agree I hate cilantro 🤮
Hass avocados are a revelation
Girl said what? I know some people don’t like it but man I can’t imagine ceviche without cilantro.
زماان مشفتك شتئتلك لله يرحم ايام فتافيت
Did she mean green Florida avocados?
Maybe she does like cilantro but has it confused with parsley? Lol
Not a fan of Cilantro. If i can, always order my food without the cilantro. An acquired taste definitely,:(
cynthia harrell it’s because you have a gene allowing you to taste cilantro like soap. It’s not just you, it’s a genetic thing.
It’s an actually genetic thing. For me, parsley tastes like fish😂
Yummie🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!!
She's so nostalgic.

People have been eating ceviche for years 🙄
WoW!!!
Yum! I agree. I am not a picky eater. But I do not eat or buy cilantro!

I LOVE Ina!
Amen sister. No cilantro here. If it's in a dish, that's all I taste. No thank you.
Love Ina and I have to agree about the cilantro not a fan, but really good flat leaf parsley can be fantastic!
I hate scallops. 😣
Not a fan of cilantro just a lil bit if i use it at all as much as she put in thats all u will taste and that much is bitter
Ina's recipes are lethal, eating this way will eventually kill anyone over 50!

I hate parsley! I takes like soap!
Thank you Ina parsley 👏👏👏 cilantro 😫
STOP GENTRIFYING MY PEOPLE’S FOOD. This is not ceviche. This is a slap in the face.
Carlos Perez Do you own the rights? No telling how many things your “people” have screwed up on this planet! Boy I could name a FEW!
sorry but not interested. maybe in another life.
Ina dyes her hair. Very nice!
cilantro or raw onion simply not to my taste
You only marinate ceviche for 10 minutes
That looks delicious Anna
Suzita who?!
She’s OD’d on her Prozac again.
keeks too selfish to be a mom
Yuuuk change ceviche recipe. Nasty
That’s not ceviche..!! That is a dish she made her way, she should change the name instead..!! Not faithful to what a real dish is...!!!
Maybe it's millennial ceviche 😏
They are NOT pronounced scAllops they are pronounced scOllops. Speak English. Oh, and you also pronounced shallots wrong so go and check out a site like Oxford University to learn how to speak properly.
stuff it.
You are going to have a meltdown if she makes tomato soup
She’s northeastern American, she has a basic American accent. Calm down.
How else do you say shallot? Lol
😂 Shollots or shallots, she's still a rich b**** at the end of the day! And I'm still gonna make this ceviche. With cilantro though...
Help, I'm being sucked down an Ina rabbit hole
Ceviche without cilantro is not ceviche. Periodt pooh!!!!!
As a Mexican born and raised in Mexico, you are 100% RIGHT!
K

So much opportunity for coronavirus
