These lessons are great - helping me revise my Hebrew. I kept up my κοινή but my Hebrew is weak. My last lessons were in 1980, so it’s been a while! Daily Dose of Hebrew is great, but I am not au fait enough with the language to benefit from it, yet. This is just right for me. Thanks for creating this great resource.
❤❤❤
It's Amazing! I'm learning hebrew without a single Word in english! Great job!
Yes thats so much more nice and great!
I’ve studied Hebrew since I was 7 years old. I went to Hebrew school and learned Hebrew in preparation for my Bar Mitzvah. Then I studied Hebrew for 4 years in seminary and another two years in post-graduate school.
I’ve been listening to Daily Dose of Hebrew and read Hebrew everyday when reading the Jewish Scriptures. I am thoroughly enjoying this approach to learning Hebrew. It is so refreshing after going through those stodgy but informative Hebrew grammars.
I cannot recommend Aleph with Beth enough. I am referring many of my messianic Jewish colleagues to check this video series out. Our pastors and Bible teachers need to get back to using Hebrew for OT studies. Hopefully, Andrew and Beth can cause a revival of עברית in the evangelical academic world.
Hi Louis, thank you so much for your thoughtful and encouraging comment! We're really honored to have you recommending our videos, and where overjoyed that we're able to serve your friends in a small way. It's great to hear from you!
I’ve been teaching myself and my son Hebrew for years, piece meal from my husband’s seminary literature. I just recently found out my great grandfather actually tutored boys as they prepared for their Bar Mitzvah. My father only studied while at seminary though.
I heard Israel is also reviving the Aramaic. This is so good to see messianic Jews growing like this.
AMEN!!!
I love your lessons!
I found your channel yesterday and am impressed, this is really fun and engaging!
Grazie, chiara e interessante, buon lavoro!
Muito obrigado, pois esse conteúdo é excelente! Bendito seja Elohim pela vida de vocês.
Siete bravissimi, è un piacere ascoltarvi
mi em david? Nizewet Bat Ad'el. Toda Raba liebe Beth. Ich lerne gerade Ivrit und hoffe, dass ich Deine Sprache bald perfekt kann. Die Mutter von David ist Nizewet Bat Ad'el. Das weiß ich von meinem Rabbi und Dank Internet. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland. Deine hebräischen Lektionen sind sehr hilfreich. Ein Kind lernt ja auch erst sprechen und dann schreiben. Aber das Alef Beth kann ich schon dank meiner lieben Ivrit--Lehrerin Zohar. Nochmals Toda Raba!

I love the way you teach, its been very helpful for me. I have a question: where or how can I get/download the text of lesson 5 and the other lessons 6, 7, 8, etc? Thanks for your help
Hi Parrani, thanks so much! We're still working on creating the documents for the text of lessons 5 and up, so we'll be posting them in the descriptions as soon as we have them ready! Thanks for your patience, it's a lot of work and takes a lot of time to do it right! :)
Thanks for your answer. God bless you.

I'm an adult and I'm trying to learn I wish there would be subtitle in English at least it would be easier for me to learn if I could understand what the word is in English it's really too bad that you guys don't put the subtitles. Some reason I find that there's some words that sounds like Greek I mean old Greek
hi miniphe! The method that we use is for a lot of good reasons. We're following the best science for second language acquisition, which is why we don't include subtitles. just like when you were a child and your parents didn't give you subtitles for learning english, we want to give people the same experience in Hebrew. you can learn a lot more about our methodology on our website freehebrew.online/why-our-method Happy learning!
You're going to need a lot more dolls for Ya'akov's benim =P

What is the difference between [ben] and [bar]?
"bar" is 'son' in Aramaic, and it sometimes occurs in later Hebrew texts due to Aramaic influence. Ben is much more common in the Biblical text.
@@AlephwithBeth thank you! That was so helpful! So when Torah was written, there were no "bar" only "ben"? What do you use in modern hebrew? Is "bar" valid word in modern hebrew?

Same here lol

Todah rabah, we pray to HaShem that you have more and more views and subscribers. Me and my mishpaja are learning a lot. Shalom!
Last comment was 2 years ago: hey! People are still watching and loving these!! :)
What a nice word is [em] ! It is pronounced exactly as "aime" in French, which means "loves". So easy to remember the word for "mother" in Hebrew, as she is definitely one who loves ! 😘🤗
in arabic is om
@@lassamisofiane9802 thank you for relaying that I’ve been kind of very interested in the Arabic as well. I know that it’s very close to Hebrew with its Letters as well
Yes! Beautiful mnemonic device.
Wow I can learn Hebrew pretty fast with this videos
Ya I know. I do recommend watching each one at least twice before the next tho. That way you get at least 30min of study an concentration
I'm Pole. Thank you very much, very good work, funny situations I appreciate you are passionate obout teaching Hebrew (I have listened to more lessons), and that people may learn them for free.
I'm going to have to watch this one a few times! Lots of great vocabulary here...
i will too! and that's what this is so good for! ❤ shalom! ❤❤
Outstanding work. What is your native language?
I'm from Michigan and my mother tongue is English :)
Beautiful but its needed translation also in English, its a bit hard to understand what you really mean.. Otherwise its amazing God bless you
@@rodicaraveca1858 Start from the beginning of the series. Watch over and over with an open Bible. You will be amazed, it's not as hard as you think. If you are familiar with the Biblical text it makes it much easier.
@@rodicaraveca1858 You can find the supporting materials in their website, the link of which you will find in the description of the videos.

Ma Shem haish/haisha haze/hazot?
What name the man/the woman the this?
Are you saying...basically... what is his/her name?
What are you literally saying?
The sentence structure confuses me in this lesson.
Yes, this sentence means: "What (is the) name (of) this man/woman?"
i have shocked , hebrew is so close to arabic and pronouns are the same exept for there isn't binary pronouns and some words like bayt"home' and erets"ardh" in arabic and "akh" brother and many words

Incredible how similar this is with Arabic. Your viewers in the Middle East would benefit greatly from this. Surprised more Middle Eastern Christians don't learn Hebrew OT

Thanks...God bless you...greetings from Argentina ..in the very south of the world.....
The read along sheets and vocab list are really useful and well made. Your lessons are great, thank you so much!
Que maravilloso método, que el Eterno les bendiga grandemente
Found I prefer watching and listening through my laptop device. Easy to rewind 15 seconds and listen again. This likely due to my big fingers not being able to manipulate the little buttons on my handheld device. Mind a little blown how much work went into all of this.

Sugerencia: sería bueno ver y oír el alefato, tanto en imprenta como en cursiva. Muchas gracias.
Ya aprenderás el alefato en lecciones futuras. Ánimo!
I've been watching the first few videos many times and the words start to register. And the music now is an ear-worm 🐛😄. Toda!
Haha! Yes, that's why eventually in later lessons we shortened the intro significantly because we were afraid people might get sick of hearing the same music! 😆

Muito obrigado por expor essas belas lições.
so nice! this is super!
todah rabah!
thanks so much!!
Surprising how similar Biblical Hebrew is to Arabic I can understand everything easier than modern Hebrew
Modern Hebrew has a lot of Indo European influence, from Germanic/Slavic languages. Makes sense, since Jews were trapped in Europe for a thousand years. And they mixed their customs with the local cultures.
Hola, me gustaria imprimir las lecciones que aparecen en el link, pero que tengo que hacer, no soy buena con la tecnologia, gracias. Me encanta la forma en que ensenian.

Was he married to them both at the same time or one after the other? By the way, thank you so much for these videos. @@AlephwithBeth
I recommend you read Genesis 29 for the full story, it has a lot of drama :)
excellent approach. תודה רבה!
Im really confused in "ISHI" Idont understand what that means
If you mean אִישִׁי 'ishi, that means "my man" or "my husband." But that form doesn't appear in this lesson, so I'm not sure what you're referring to?
@@AlephwithBeth ill rewatch, but it think its around the part describing the older father
Obrigada por compartilhar conteúdo de qualidade.
You teach very beautifully and easily .... But plz add English captions of subtitles and English names of object to make even more easy to learn 👍🏻 .... For example : "paar"... Also put English word "cow "
Nah I don’t recommend that at all if she’s showing you a picture of a cow that should help enough.
@@joshuatift4640 but iam speaking for beginners would understand properly and easily
Thank for your wonderful lessons. Is it possible to watch the video and see the scripts at the same time?
Of course you can open or print out the scripts and watch while you read, but there are no subtitles available for the early lessons. However, after lesson 19 once all the alphabet has been taught, all the text will be on the screen!
I notice sometimes instead of av it says avi, but the meaning is not "my father", and sometimes instead of Ach you say Achi, but it is not "my brother". Is this just another acceptable alternate pronunciation for these words? Thank you!
Hi! What you are noticing is the construct form of father (אב). To learn more about this, check out the grammar lesson for Lesson 5 here:
docs.google.com/document/d/1YOqzlPQasM8BSLMSKVKvdV-1NUZMnAIg5Mic2C20a98/edit#heading=h.2znvyrsmbn3f

Really appreciating these lessons as I try to learn Hebrew at Bible College. Shalom!
Happy to hear that! 😊 All the best with your studies!!
A couple of times avi was used, and I could not see how the final vowel suffix was supposed to be translated as "my"...is there another function for that suffix? Thanks!
The word for father (and brother) happens to have an irregular construct form that ends in yod, so what you're hearing is not the possessive suffix, but the construct form of av.
@@AlephwithBeth Thank you for your patience with my questions. :-)

I just might be getting hooked on this, but what a way to go! I'm finding I get more out of watching a second time. It is appreciated, thanks.
Dear friends and fellow learners, this method really DOES work! It works beautifully. Just spend a modest amount of time on it every day. The results accumulate over time.
I speak some Hebrew. maybe will be more easy to understand with another language to compare with. Thank you. שלום
muy educativo el videogracias.... veo una sutileza pero puedo estar equivocado porque issac and asmael les colocan distantes como implicando algo ???? por informacion el nombre isamel su significado es hermoso EL escucha
Somewhat confused by the pronunciation of tsere when it is with ayin. When Beth pronounces it, it sounds like a diphthong- "oy", but the text I've been using says it's "e as in they" and doesn't mention it as one of the Hebrew diphthongs. Is this a variable pronunciation?
¡Muchísimas gracias por compartir este increíble método con el mundo! Me encantan las clases de ustedes, ¡son geniales y nos ayudan enormemente!
