Hey! I'm curious to how the I-Ching answered you so specifically?? Aren't all the answers somewhat abstract? How did you divine a number of years? Genuinely interested. Thank you!
@@pannsbox I have gotten some very specific answers with I Ching. I think it's because some (changing) lines are quite specific. Once I got a number of years I'd stay stuck in a situation. If I remember correctly, it was hexagram 29 - The Abyss, where the moving line 6 said that for 3 years there is no way out of the situation. In my case, it was literally 3 and a half years that I was stuck in a dangerous situation. Most often, the text is loosely descriptive. I quite like that, because it gives me more freedom to use my intuition, but when a situation is serious or dangerous, I find that answers are more specific.
I’ve been reading tarot for over 30 years now... They most definitely draw on the unconscious mind and our ability to crystallize manifest reality... we are choosing the cards, meaning the person for whom the reading is for, some time in advance... and the entire thing is happening at an unconscious level. The cards speak to us in the same language that dreams speak to us in.. The main way the cards work is by acting as a bridge between the waking mind and the dreaming mind, allowing us to speak directly with our unconscious minds, a potent and useful accomplish ment that is just not possible by any other means that I'm aware of.
Yes, this is certainly the effect I’ve experienced in my relationship with the Tarot. Rachel Pollack posits the idea that our future can influence the past in such moments, and that is why the cards seem to match up so well. A nice mind bending theory!
Do you have any places you recommend to start with it? I like the idea the cards speaking to us in a way like dreams. I haven’t got into them yet even though I have a deck because it seemed like a big undertaking to learn in a reading way what every card means.
@@Seanb33ee doing readings for yourself is the best way to learn.... keep a book with a basic set of meanings for the cards, and don’t be afraid to use the book, there’s no shame in that. Then, before you read the cards, pay attention to what you notice in each card, and how it makes you feel as you observe it... write that down, every time you encounter a card you don’t yet have memorized, that way you can begin building your own intuition... the cards are a great way to babystep your way into more fully developed phsychic awareness.

I absolutely love the Tarot and what it does for deep, authentic introspective work and you guys are hitting all of this stuff right on the head. Thank you! ❤🙏
Thank you so much! Glad to hear we didn’t ruin the topic for you! 😁 It really is such a rich tradition. Do you have any cards you particularly feel drawn to at the moment?
Just when you think you know anything at all about a topic, something like this presents itself, and suddenly you realize that you don't know a damn thing. Ha! This video was a magical treasure to have stumbled upon. Thank you both! 💜
Thanks so much! In all honesty, I also still feel like I have only scratched the surface. Looking forward to diving ever deeper into this esoteric rabbit hole. -MJ
This topic was broached in a very respectful and sincere way... while still dignifying scholars and practitioners. There is so much that is unknown... even today scientists and archaeologist discover remnants from the past that make us rethink our very own recorded history. I believe that whatever tool we feel comfortable that allows us to break the wall of that which blinds us or by design has been kept occult, well I say... use it, if you have eyes to see and ears to hear and especially if you are not afraid of the truth that will be revealed along the way. Thank you.. excellent interview.
Always buy your own cards, let them guide you to them in the store, and between 3-5am is the best time to be curious with them when the Vail is lifted between worlds,it's best to shuffle them with your washed hands and relax clear your mind completely, choose 8 cards first, place them front down then ask a question, choose randomly let them guide you to each card ,after words all together they will tell you the story.
That’s a wonderful routine… I like the cleansing aspect of the beginning you described. I think it’s important to get your emotional, mental, and physical environment in tune in some way when you shuffle, ask and draw the cards. I always thank them for the answer as well, even if I don’t fully understand it yet. I think there is something possibly about the late night or near midnight draw that is helpful as well. I did all of mine around 1am for the 7 day experiment and then went right to bed right after, so the symbols could incubate in my mind, and I would always wake up the next morning with a very clear understanding of the cards shown.
It wasn't one person that started the tarot. I can give background on it. So, in my school, they have info on this that the normal internet and public doesn't. The symbolic language that became tarot, originally spoken through key symbols, then later expounded by more adepts became tarot. It was invented by adepts in far back traditions (way before the first PUBLICLY known tarot decks). So the known esoteric training decks meant for initiates that are the oldest that people know about are the Marcielle deck, the bohemian tarot, and another French one that I can't remember right now, but the techniques of symbolic figging into the mass subconscious hail from back in Egypt systems and probably even farther back using symbols on objects for the same type of function in consciousness. Eventually schools started passing these, and other techniques down and refining them to fit the day and age that they were refined for. The tarot wasn't meant for future gelling, but for training initiates in the powers of mind, training in the stages of awakening and training in understanding universal powers. Secondarily it was used for divination. So for instance, the rider waited was a second hand knock off of the original Golden dawn tarot that had some of the original symbology obscured and others committed and then sold in public as a card game to keep people from batting an eye when they were used in public by initiates, but they caught popularity as a mystical divinity device (not what they were intended for). The ommited material was to work in the way much like blinds work: (the initiates knew the real symbology behind the cards, including what was ommited, but enough of the symbology was still in tact to pull up the meanings of uses from the subconscious while using in public.
The tarot, like the i-ching, and when witch doctors throw sticks and chicken bones and analyze the position each have meaning. It's what we believe in. Imagine throughout the universe and time how many forms of tarot there could've been. ALOT. because they believed, facts. This tool has been around longer than we can comprehend
It is funny that at the end of the video you mentioned the maths formula, because there is a question that enters my mind when listening to people express their views about the esoteric. Have you given much thought to the equation E=MC2=hv ? And What implications/ramifications do you see in that for the understanding of what this "power" is that is wielded when practicing things like the tarot?
I’d love to see an in-person free flow conversational video between the two of you. Fantastic content as always brother; MJ Dorian is my favorite guest of yours by far.
When you say you are trying to put that frontal lobed critical thinking to the side I am reminded of myself and how I have seen and dealt with my limitations on this front. I look back to the leaps in esoteric beliefs I have had and use that to tell myself that there is no difference in space to the next jump. That others more out there beliefs can be a similar size jump for me to take but even more importantly, it is my ego that is deciding what is a reasonable leap. How far away the belief is from where I am with all my historical beliefs and leaps included are worthless.
I just got a few decks recently. I've never tried it but I'm a long time listener so I figured I'd try. Holy shit. This is an insight generator. Keep up the good work my friend.

Does anyone have any info on dramas or plays being depicted in the Rider Waite deck? I’ve heard some of the scenes on the minor arcana are inspired by famous drama scenes(?) I believe the example I read about was the 7 of Wands being a nod to Taming of the Shrew with his mismatched shoes… (?) (When you brought up drama I was hoping that’s where you were going with it 😅)
I’ve recently been taking a larger deep dive into learning each card. It’s a large undertaking but very rewarding. Thanks for the inspiration to keep moving forward
Hey Micheal+All. I don't know if you ever noticed this but I always giggle when rewatching Jung's "Face to Face" BBC interview. He replies to a question (at 25m:26s) about the collective unconcious: "It was not a proof to me but it was a hint. ...And I took the hint". Right at that instance, there is a strange noise. Like a Goose? or something mechanical in the room maybe? I don't know what is was but it always think of a Quizz show type *Honk* when a contestent banks a correct answer. Its very funny. 🤣 Any suggestions on what the noice was?
@@THIRDEYEDROPS I was lucky enough to stand it that very room earlier this year when I visted the Museum C.G. Jung House in Kusnacht/Swiss. Although you can see a back door open during the Films intro, thats not the room the interview took place in. Its the main living room. Maybe there was a window open out of shot but it is a giggle if there's anything to this "synchronicity" business. 😆
I believe synchronous events has to do with a quality of time. It’s more than just the meaning we make of it. Sometimes we just notice the quality and then we have a moment of clarity.

43:35 yes. …but that IS communicating with the other side. Channeling is individual thought, the origin of which isnt a dusty warehouse in the brain but the spirit voices surrounding the you.
This is one of the mysteries of the Tarot! It’s a perfect question. The fact that the 22 Hebrew characters can be matched up to the 22 major arcana is very compelling. But what one doesn’t often hear said is that the occultists from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s were not in agreement as to the order which Hebrew characters lined up with the major arcana. And the Marseilles deck, which precedes Rider-Waite does not have any Hebrew characters. This leads me to believe it was more likely a beautiful and serendipitous occurrence. Perhaps one might even call it a synchronicity. Which may be all too fitting as the inclination of combining Kabbalah with Tarot is syncretic! 😄
1:49:47 could it be linear but also circular. Like a linear moving type spiral perhaps? Sometimes compressed and touching sometimes not. (The same spiral type that seems to make up most of natures ways ect. If I’m making sense to anyone)
At this point it’s anyone’s guess! If it were the Templars though I would expect the red Templar cross to be present in there somewhere prominently, which it isn’t, although we do see a cross occasionally appearing. There are allusions to biblical symbols but what is so striking about the Tarot is that it doesn’t align with any one one particular faith-which I think is also its strength.
Use Tarot since 25 years, used only one book for Interpretation. A book based on Jung s archetypal concepts, only about the great arcana, just to be the book he presented here 😊
I’ve studied with Dr. Ken James, taking both level 1 and 2 of his Jungian Perspective on the Tarot courses and the Jungian Tarot Readers certification course. Highly recommend.

I’m telling you, this shit is real I used to smoke weed and play video games all day for years, but by the age of 23 I finally got a job been working out and stopped playing video games and started hanging out with family. (I’m 25 now) A lot more started following my Yellow brick Road or Thy Will or the path a being of higher power chose for us. Nowadays I see 1:11 or 11:11 or 3:33 or it could be anything like how I drove for 45 min one lane most of the drive and I see 3 people in a row with 666 within their license plate I look and it’s 12:34 almost everyday I see a synchronicity, after I changed my life, I now swear by it, and I’m not easily swayed either guys THIS SHIT IS 100% REAL THO lol for the past 4yrs that I played video games like 16hrs a day (It was bad) and I had a clock right next to me and I’ve probably only seen it do it once or twice a year. Now I see it five times a DAY I’m now 25 so that’s 2 years 5x a day do the math. Fine I’ll do it lol it’s 43,800 times I’ve seen a synchronicity in the past 2yrs (that’s 21,900 times a year as well) this has to be real cuz I played on a PC all day they have clocks everywhere on those things🤯 I have a really good memory too so trust me I used to check my clock every 30min or so now i can almost count on a synchronicity this stuff is real. Y’all should definitely reply to this once you change ur life in a POSITIVE manner and I promise a synchronicity will guide, and do anything that excites your TRUE being, there lies the yellow brick road just have the balls to follow it, and learn the reason why you’re alive ❤️ PS: I lost over 200lb in less than a year. You can say it was a “Phatt positive change”🤣
I have days where every time I check the clock, it's 12:12, then 1:11, 2:22 3:33 and so on all within the same day. I've no joke even had an instance where I looked at the exact moment that it happened to be 2:22:22 in the afternoon. Even if it wasn't synchronicity, the fact that I happened to look at that exact moment for all numbers to line up is absolutely bananas.
Had a dream half a year ago about standing in front of the 7/11 near my home on a small pile of dirt while holding a staff in a defensive stance guarding a dumpster... An adversarial ex was approaching. Then I noticed another staff "hovering" in the road. I retrieved the hovering staff and noticed a winnebago parked in the street, that I apparently owned...I'm peripherally familiar with Tarot, but it seems as though my "sub-conscious" is so much more initiated than my "Tonal"(Castaneda) 7 of staves/8 of staves transition...?
Yes, it is one of the paths of esoteric knowledge, especially when one factors in Qabalah into the framework. I forgot to mention in our conversation, Paul Foster Case has a very insightful book about the Tarot which lays out its more esoteric meanings.
I took my first $1200 pandemic relief check and went to tarot school. That was in 2020 and I added astrology about 1.5 years ago. Now I teach others. It's so much less boring than religion or atheism as I've lived those and this is better.
Can you design ( draw create ) your own arcana deck and they potentially work the same or do they need to be store bought ( asking for an artist friend )
Absolutely! Drawing the cards or making your own designs based on meditation on the original Marseille or Waite or Crowley decks can be very meaningful. The author, Paul Foster Case has a book called The Tarot, in which he guides the reader in coloring simple black and white versions of the Rider-Waite deck. Curious note on that is that Case includes variations on the original cards to ‘reveal’ certain secrets which Waite hid in them!
Always excellent with mj! Thanks for a tarot deep dive, you made me remember the first time a friend pulled cards for me and I went "how did it know? "
Currently watching, loving it mates. I have several decks. Yall won't be disappointed if yall check out the William Blake Tarot - Online Manual by Ed Buryn. By the way, this day has been filled with synchronicities, from to end. Thanks for this podcast.

88th comment👁️~8~👁️… Beauty(🌷)+Complexity(🌎) =Intent(❤️) The Figure 8 Analogy: An analogy on life, death, the dream-state and the symbolism intertwined within the human experience. We human beings are not traveling in the abstract motion of a straight line towards death (for instance, the numerical straight line of say 1-89). Instead, we are moving in the motion of a figure 8. The Figure 8 is a natural repeating pattern that is divided into two halves and is thus the perfect symbol to represent the human life cycle and our two primary states of existence that we are continuously moving in and out of -the Awake state and the Dream state. When we awake from sleep we come full circle to when we fall back asleep (represented by the bottom half of the figure 8 )and when we go into the dream state we come full circle to when we awake from the dream state (represented by the top half of the figure 8 ). Upon death; the figure 8 of life untwines, but it’s not the body untwining from the mind that this analogy represents. It's two states of mind untwining to form a larger state of mind (8-0)… Because the awake state is really a state -of mind with our body's physical reality "consciously" intertwined, and the dream-state is also a state of mind with our body's physical reality "subconsciously" intertwined. Therefore; upon death, these two states of mind untwine to form a “larger” state of mind. A state that has all the potentialities of the dream-world (flying, telepathy, psychokinesis, etc) combined with all the actualities of the awake world(nature, form, bonds, etc). This I refer to as the transitional analogy. While conceiving The Figure 8 Analogy, I realized life and death must be perceived -from one point of view- as seperate entities(the transitional analogy(8-0), but must also be perceived -from another point of view- as inseparable entities(the symbolic analogy👇), both of which are ultimately linked by the dream-state. The “Symbolic Analogy” consists of the untwined figure 8 of life/the “circle of death” ( O ) abstractly overlapping the ‘circle of life’ (Earth(🌎)with the overlapping area representing the dreamstate-like the common area in a Venn Diagram-and implies that the dream state is just as much a part of life as is of death (by which explains precognitive dreams, prodromal dreams, "visitations" by deceased relatives, etc) for the dream-state has a foothold in the afterlife; and is based on the premise that “while our body sleeps our dream state symbolically represents the state that awaits upon our body's ultimate rest.” In other words, while we are lying down and sleeping/dreaming, this natural process symbolizes where we go when we're ultimately lying down/dead -to a place like our dream-state...A state "of mind” with our body's physical form+Earthly bonds eternally engrained and intertwined. 🪬👁️~8~👁️🪬
I think weighing the Pageau brothers’ objections is prudent and compulsory requirements for a healthy approach. If one exists. These things are debatable. The commandments are clear. But Time and entropy. Humans and the “material” realm. Sorrowfully, Some must inquire.

Through Ra, The Pantheon, Thoth, and the Bimbin tablet of Isis to mention some. Just IMO. Ok thank you Sir I could continue, I do apologize for rambling.

You said at one point that you were worried about growth of the channel so I thought I’d share some thoughts about your channel in the spirit of helping. Firstly, what drew me to your channel initially was your explainer videos about Jung. Maybe making a few of those could help with growth. Secondly, sometimes (not always) when you’re interviewing, it feels a little bit like you aren’t really listening to your guest and you respond by offering a tidbit of your own rather than letting them complete their thought. An example to review might be at the 55 minute mark in this video when you asked a question about ancient origins of tarot and then kinda interrupt to talk about something you know. I know you think of this as riffing but sometimes working on listening can strengthen our contributions to the riff. Anyways, I love your channel and your content generally. Please take these as the comments of someone who genuinely wants you to succeed at what you’re doing. I also don’t have a channel with 69k subs so what do I know. Take me with a grain of salt. one thing i find extremely fascinating about tarot, is that 2 exact tarot shuffles has never happened, and will never happen again, it would take continuous shuffling, by every human who has ever existed 10 trillion years of shufflling day and night to hit even a .000001% chance of 2 of the shuffles being the exact same, so every time you shuffle a deck of cards, that shuffle will never happen again

Real psychics use tarot cards as a rough orientation, and even if, its highly intuitively anyway. By far most of the information comes from the 3. eye, wich is also kinda like a picture who one have to interpret. Tarot cards are rooted in primitive oracle methods. But not primitive in a negative sense, those are more suited for consciousness, because the human consciousness in a divination process works with patterns. For example if you throw small rocks or sticks on the ground. Another example is the reading of birds, this is also real telepathic communication with animals, and it ties to a natural homo sapien consciousness. The problem is just that people nowdays think that animals have a soul, or everything has a soul just like we humans. Thats wrong and leads to strange outcomes, wich i rather not want to go into details. Synchronicity is tied to the stars, but same with tarot cards, modern esoteric astrology is a misdevelopment, were they try to imitate the real system, wich comes from nature and also Paganism by the way.

Just when you think you know anything at all about a topic, something like this presents itself, and suddenly you realize that you don't know a damn thing. Ha! This video was a magical treasure to have stumbled upon. Thank you both! 💜
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks my friend!
Such a thoughtful comment! Thank you for your reflection, and I agree wholeheartedly! ~MJ
Can confirm about the 3-5am shuffle 😊 always extremely accurate

Whoops, soz for the typos. The first typos was meant to say *Digging 🤣
🙏🙏🙏
When you say you are trying to put that frontal lobed critical thinking to the side I am reminded of myself and how I have seen and dealt with my limitations on this front.
I look back to the leaps in esoteric beliefs I have had and use that to tell myself that there is no difference in space to the next jump. That others more out there beliefs can be a similar size jump for me to take but even more importantly, it is my ego that is deciding what is a reasonable leap. How far away the belief is from where I am with all my historical beliefs and leaps included are worthless.
This is fortuitous timing, my friends. Thank you for this awesome discussion. Tarot is truly fascinating
I just got a few decks recently. I've never tried it but I'm a long time listener so I figured I'd try.

Learning about and putting into practice {as much as a dabbler can) the mystical traditions has helped me reconnect with a part of myself I had killed 13 years ago, along with a bunch of others, with the new atheist movement. Finding a new way forward that takes the bigger picture and is able to resonate with more perspectives... Even the ones I killed, has been life changing and affirming. I'm so so thankful for channels like this, and people like you guys that get it.

That’s such a valuable path of study-a great mountain potentially without a final ‘summit’! I wish you well in the journey!
Haha I’m not familiar with that one, I’ll have to go give it a honk.
Such an interesting conversation, thank you for sharing
I believe synchronous events has to do with a quality of time. It’s more than just the meaning we make of it. Sometimes we just notice the quality and then we have a moment of clarity.
The tarot will teach you. A movie that may interest you is Alejandro Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain". The man himself restored the Marseilles deck.

Was the correspondence of the Tarot with the Kabbalha discovered or invented?
Epic conversation 🔥
Thanks brother!
This was intensely interesting! Cheers, you guys.
1:49:47 could it be linear but also circular. Like a linear moving type spiral perhaps? Sometimes compressed and touching sometimes not.
(The same spiral type that seems to make up most of natures ways ect. If I’m making sense to anyone)
Exactly! Spiralic growth in time ~~~
I read the Tarot cards originated with the Knights Templar as an esoteric teaching tool.

I retrieved the hovering staff and noticed a winnebago parked in the street, that I apparently owned...I'm peripherally familiar with Tarot, but it seems as though my "sub-conscious" is so much more initiated than my "Tonal"(Castaneda)
7 of staves/8 of staves transition...?

The more I learn and practice the tarot, the more I come closer to the divine. ❤
Yes, it is one of the paths of esoteric knowledge, especially when one factors in Qabalah into the framework. I forgot to mention in our conversation, Paul Foster Case has a very insightful book about the Tarot which lays out its more esoteric meanings.
Fantastic podcast! You guys convinced me to get a tarot deck. Much love for you guys and wishing you many synchronicity’s!

Can you design ( draw create ) your own arcana deck and they potentially work the same or do they need to be store bought ( asking for an artist friend )
I’ve heard drawing your own cards can be a really magical experience.

The Figure 8 Analogy:
An analogy on life, death, the dream-state and the symbolism intertwined within the human experience.
It's two states of mind untwining to form a larger state of mind (8-0)…
Because the awake state is really a state -of mind with our body's physical reality "consciously" intertwined, and the dream-state is also a state of mind with our body's physical reality "subconsciously" intertwined.
The “Symbolic Analogy” consists of the untwined figure 8 of life/the “circle of death” ( O ) abstractly overlapping the ‘circle of life’ (Earth(🌎)with the overlapping area representing the dreamstate-like the common area in a Venn Diagram-and implies that the dream state is just as much a part of life as is of death (by which explains precognitive dreams, prodromal dreams, "visitations" by deceased relatives, etc) for the dream-state has a foothold in the afterlife; and is based on the premise that “while our body sleeps our dream state symbolically represents the state that awaits upon our body's ultimate rest.”
In other words, while we are lying down and sleeping/dreaming, this natural process symbolizes where we go when we're ultimately lying down/dead -to a place like our dream-state...A state "of mind” with our body's physical form+Earthly bonds eternally engrained and intertwined.

Haha, I never got into hairspray, although it seems to work for keeping your hair exactly in a certain style. My personal secret is just letting the natural oils of the hair build up a little-so not washing with shampoo or even water daily. The sweet spot will vary, for me it’s day two.

No offense, but how could you possibly know that? Never happened in the history of tarot...
