Man one of the happiest days of my life was playing this game. Against the computer of course.

I am admittedly not an old guard who used to play back in the days since I originate from the days of Warcraft 3 but WC3 really made me look back with even more nostalgia on what came before and I fell in love with WC2. what is your usual compatibility? i'm having trouble with the "not working" problem with the ddraw stuff.
During the install under DirectDraw, I've been using test4 but my computers have higher end video cards. If that doesn't work, install using test2 and see if that works.

@@mechrotech3161 russia has little to no copyright laws, so it's way easier to get away with piracy over there. lots of people make completely harmless stuff for the sake of preserving old games.

This game is available for purchase on GOG, it's no longer classified as abandonware, although it used to be.

I want to tell you I am glad you dont have to use dos box I had the one where dos box was needed but now I don't and every time I have to take it out I can come on here and rewatch it and do it correctly

Hi D, glad to hear. Beyond the Dark Portal is included with the install. Just go to Single Player game and you should see the Beyond the Dark Portal campaign below the originals.

Hi, i download the file and install everything, but i can't play. "You need insert CD"... how it is possible?
on my computer the screen is slightly too small, so I can't see resources gathered, gonna tinker and see if I can find a solution...
update: couldn't quite figure out how to access the "ddraw" settings, which seemed like they would work wonders based on the 'readme', but option one was using "warcraft II config" to put the game into 'windowed mode', and also, strangely, putting my display resolution to a different setting, and letting it revert while the game is open somehow fixed it lol. maybe because I use a TV as my monitor?...

Has anyone here had any luck running this with crossover on a mac? My installation went just fine and everything seemed to be in order, but my screen turns white when I launch the game. Music and sound seems to be working fine though.
Looks like a few other people in the comments are having similar issues on windows. Does anybody know why this is happening?

The devs are aware that this gets incorrectly flagged as a virus. It got blacklisted a while back and they've had trouble since. They aren't sure how to stop the false positives.
Will it allow the original Warcraft 2 cheats for single player?

I downloaded it in 7 and when I go to install, it pops up with an error that says it’s “not a valid Win32 application.”

Never mind. Downloaded version 45 and that IS compatible with Win 7.

Hi. Ever heard of some warcraft 1 remake? Just curious. That was my childhood game, before war2 came.
The only one I know of is the one sold at gog.com. www.gog.com/game/warcraft_orcs_and_humans it's only $6 and is supposed to work on Windows 10. Haven't tested it though.

i have the problem that i can't see any of the text thats on the page on 13:23 or any of that part. so it shows exactly like this but just no text at all. i navigated my way through it to come to that by seeing on your video what the things say to make an account with username and password but i don't see anything what i'm doing. might you know why that is and maybe how to fix it?
I'm not sure on that one. The only think you might try is the options at 7:30 where it has DirectDraw, try the other option from the one you chose, test2 vs. test4.

Did you have a previous version installed before installing war2combat? You likely need to uninstall any previous versions, then install the war2combat edition.
Would be great to play this on PC. It's near unplayable on the Playstation Emulator. Havin' to control the cursor without a mouse is way too slow and gives almost no reliable control, especially when you're suddenly attacked.
I'm about to try it, I have 3 CD keys, 3 copies of the game and none of them work after installing, the sound works but there's no video signal. I'll try this next, hopefully it works

ive tried to do this a few times and my antivirus keeps blocking the download page due to "URL:blacklist" im not very computer savy, anyone have a workaround ?
Which antivirus are you running? There should be a place to put an exception for a specific URL like this, that has been mistakenly identified.

What’s the difference between war2combat 45 and 46?
When I made this video I think it was way back on version 4.3. They are on 4.6 now. There have been quite a few bug fixes and additional features added since then. I believe one was making it compatible with the GOG version. You should be able to since, I believe this is basically just a warcraft 2 install with a no CD crack and a couple of tweak mods. But I haven't tested it.
@@MoDouglas hi so I gave it a try by just moving the old saves of a windows 98 PC I had and onto this one. But is there some way for me to have the game recognize new saves have been added? I don't see them in the load save game menu

I could try to help. Can you give any more details? Sometimes it gets blocked by strict security settings.
I have the old WC2 Battle.net Edition CD will it work on my PC?
Mine works on current Win 10.
Apparently Blizzard released an update many years ago to make it Win10 compatible. So if you have the disc you should be set, though I don't know about LAN play on that version. I've lost my disc so I'm not able to test it personally. And one of my main points is that I don't have to re-buy the disc to play thanks to this version.

I don't know about Win10, but just wanna say My Warcraft2 (Bnet edition, with legit CD) runs perfectly fine on Win7.
All I had to do was installing in in C:\War2Bnet (didn't work in my D:\games\war2 subdir)

Yes. It's in the MapEditor folder in the install directory (War2Combat).

How did you make the game widescreen?
I didn't do anything. I believe it was a feature built into my monitor at the time of recording.
