    Great footage especially that Crompton bouncing along through the station with a light load.
    It always amused me how daft people would fling open the doors long before the train had stopped.
    No chance of that happening these days, you have to wait 15 seconds before the doors are released. Thanks so much for bringing back happy memories.

    The last shot of the Crompton on a Rugby Cement train is probably enroute to Halling cement works.

    Even a horrendous gale later that month didn't put me off recording activity at New Hythe.

      Did you capture the Brookgate coal trains by any chance? Used to regularly work them with a 56.

    • @duncancurtis5108
      @duncancurtis5108 Год назад

      No but we did note a solitary HAA coal truck parked in the bottom end siding. Plus they scrapped the last old hoppers from Snowdown up at Snodland a few weeks earlier.

      @@duncancurtis5108 That was probably a cripple wagon knocked out of the empty train. It used to run on a Tues & Thurs, after we'd unloaded the wagons were examined before departure and wasn't unusual for one or two to be red carded and had to be shunted out before departure.
