- Every so often here in Victoria (VK3) we have Microwave Activity Days otherwise known as MADs. These usually ad-hoc, but sometimes planned events, are where amateur radio operators passionate about microwave communications find themselves on hilltops working other like-minded amateurs. It’s an event where microwave enthusiasts can put their gear through its paces. This video will give you an insight into MADs and the Australia-wide VHF UHF contest that happens 3 times a year.

This is bang on!!! Well done Andrew!!!! 🙂
You feature in it Nik 😂
Very good video Andrew!
Beautiful camera work and scenery.
Central Victoria is a nice part of the world, adn you can't beat a drone shot to set up a location. Thanks Adam.
Another great presentation out of the 3FS stable! here in VK4 we do actually produce an annual calendar of all the MAD events , curtesy of Scott VK4CZ, which interlace the dates with the FD’s and other significant radio events. We think a bit of prior planning improves the turn-out rate on MADs VK4UH
Thanks Kevin. Yes, we here in VK3 try and fall in line with Scott's handywork. We have a tendency to add more to it as the locals get restless.
A MAD is a great excuse to regularly (monthly) get your uWave gear out for an arvo play, instead of just the three weekends of the year. Use it or lose it!
I love your videos They are always exciting and educational
Thank you. 😊
