honestly the ensemble in this version seems off, it’s too quiet and doesn’t seem to harmonize as well, but zeus’s voice is easier to make out in this version. and the last line in the horse and the infant isn’t as harmonious in this one.
in my opinion, this older version of full speed ahead sounds better because it actually sounds like 600 men singing "make it back alive to our home land" when the remastered version only sounds like at most odys ships crew is singing that line
it might sound fuller, but it’s more flat than the new version. the new version’s vocals are louder and more harmonious, so they needed less layers of vocals to provide the same effect.
@@RandooART i think i prefer that faded echoey effect because it is 600 men scattered across 12 ships in the open sea, and they are very far away from each other

Here are my thoughts: 1. Horse and the Infant and Just a Man - I like this better than the re-record. Mainly because of the raw emotions involved on Jorge's voice. Don't get me wrong, the new version sounds good too along with better instruments but the way the two songs are arranged in the older version just emphasized the emotions behind his voice. Although the background ensemble on "When does a man become a monster?", the re-recorded was better. 2. Full Speed Ahead - oh god. I like the ensemble, its just so raw with less instruments. It actually feels like 600 men are talking. 3. Open Arms - I can actually hear Polities clearly. 4. Warrior of the Mind - again Athena's vocals are in emphasis. While the re recorded emphasizes on the blend of vocals and motifs. My conclusion: The Troy Saga feels like it was recorded for a Broadway/ Live Play Show with emphasis on the vocals and emotions behind it. Don't get me wrong but the re recorded version sounds cleaner (less hints of auto - tune) but it sounds like it was recorded for a clean album while this original re-recording is for live play. Both are great actually. Its a matter of preference. I just wish Jorge can get this back.
