Just compare the bezels of M35 and M34 to M31s. M31s was launched in 2020, and it had slimmer bezels than M34 and M35. And it also had punch hole display at that time whereas the M34 previously had Waterdrop notch. M31s also had a 25W charger included with the box.
As you said it is for old people I think m35 can be a better option. Since they don't need high performance( A series have good performance because the optimisations are nicely finish and the people like grand parents don't really need that. So buying m35 makes sense. If they really do multitasking as such that can push the limits, then you can consider a34)
