First saw Hawkwind when they were known as Group X. I have seen them, ooh, 30 times at least since 1970. Stacia dancing naked on stage at the Coventry Locarno and management threatening to switch off the leccy (arseholes). I’ve original pressings of all their initial albums. Must be worth a fair sum these days. Bloody ace band. Went to Malvern without tickets. Saw Lemmy in the foyer. He reached into his back pocket, asked me how many I wanted, I said five and he gave me them. Magic! Money fir tickets was spent on Merch.
…and I saw Hawkwind at Leicester De Montfort hall in 1973. A guy next to me offered me a joint…that was an evening I’ll never forget… Oh yeah, remember Liquid Len and the Lensmen? I helped when I saw Hawkwind at the Cov Theatre in 1974.
