Thank you very much for sharing. Your trees are beautiful! It would be interesting to know for how long you have them and their rate growth. The list with all the names is very useful though. Great garden!

Thank you for sharing! You have a very beautiful garden and property! May I ask how old and big (heigh/width) your seiryu and biggest Japanese green acer palmatum are? I love them both but I can only choose one. Actually I do favor the Japanese green acer palmatum slightly. With back-lit by sunlight, the leaves look like stars falling down from the sky. However, I have a very small yard that could only fit a 20x20 ft one. I’m concerned that the Japanese green acer palmatum would outgrow that in 20-30 years. Could you please share your thoughts? Thank you!

@@pmachiavellih1726 Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! The seiryu is about 1.5 m/3 ft wide and 2 m/6.5 ft tall and the palmatum is about 3 m/10 ft wide and 4 m/13 ft tall. And yes, indeed, the leaves remind of stars :) We planted those maples around 6 years ago, hard to tell how old they are, but the palmatum is certainly older than the seiryu and it also grows faster (cultivars typically grow slower than palmatums). How fast and how well a maple grows will depend on the growing conditions and the climate. You could check with your local nursery which growing rates they see on their maples to give you an idea how well they would fit in the space you have. In case a maple grows too large, it can always be pruned as I do with a lot of our maples. Let me know which one you choose!

@@OurJapaneseGardenEscape Thanks for taking the time to respond back to me. You gave me very helpful information. I have seen you thinned them out. But I didn't know you could top of the uprights maples. Do they still look graceful?
I truly appreciate the video that you made in which you walked around your yard, named one by one, showed what they look like, and described their characteristics.
I live in Seattle, WA. It's a good zone for maples. I'm planning to put either one down in the fall. So I can't make up my mind. Seiryu would be safer choice since it's projected to be 20x15. I don't have to do much pruning. But some nurseries in the area said the Japanese green acer palmatum could grow up to 30x30 ft. That would completely engulfed my front yard. I may be dead by then but I feel bad that someone would have to clean up my mess. Lol

Hello, very nice hank you...I noticed there is bamboo close to the JP. I love bamboo and have it also but fear it is going to harm the maples. I dug up (ugh) a lot of it. i think bamboo goes well with the maples as an aesthetic but this roots can be an issue...love to have your thoughts.
