i hope respond but dont have too, so you know something the begining scene did not happen, nor the Weasley house caught on fire that was just added bs, the coool aspect of this was missing, Harry was at Privet Drive, and Dumbledore talked to Harry and his Aunt Uncle and Dudley, Dumbledore told Them that the good thing they did for Harry was feed him to at least live, and not turn out like Dudley, he said you never treated him like family, and his protection will end when turns 17. And the Dursleys was scared when he walked up to Vernon and basically said be wise not to smart mouth me back.
There was also other great moments not in it, one being a Witches memory had the cup of Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff she had a house elf, a young Tom was there saw her collection she showed him when he was working at the place where Harry fell into with powder something and Burkes, when he saw the locket with Slytherin he noticed that he really wanted that, his eyes gleamed red, then Dumbledore told him that she died not to long after by poisen, and the elf was framed for it by being so old. But it was Tom who did it.
ALso there was one about Voldermorts mother which its a shame it was cut too very important his up bringing, Voldermorts mother was with a family called Gaunt, a brother and a dad who was really vial and basically wicked. The son liked to kill snakes and hang them on wall, and the dad was always making his mother Penelope like a slave the Ministry official was there to tell them that the son had hurt muggle people and was due to a hearing.
Then they eventually attacked the official and he left to get backup they took them down and sent to Azkaban, when they got out 2 different times the son got out, and he meet Tom, he told Tom he looked like his dad the muggle up on the hill and that his sister fancied him and went off together, so he hood winked his uncle, and framed him when he went and killed his dad and grandparents, who found out abandoned him as a baby, for it was seen as a possible that his mother, gave a love potion to Tom Sr, and made him fall for her over a muggle woman he loved.
When she stopped giving him the love potion he bailed on her never to be seen again the townsfolks said that he was hood winked . When at the orphanage, it was found out ina memory to Harry that the woman there said that Penelope or so i think called, was alone starving and weak, she was pregnant and to call him by his sir name Tom Marvolo Riddle, then she died some bit after. So they did as she said when died said poor thing, so ..
The Locket, the cup was gone when the family of the woman witch rich items were missing, and his own Uncle he framed for killing the Riddles, the elf was framed for killing her Mistress. All because of Tom.
Hope respond but these are big stuff that should of been in it!

"This bastard, I want to know more about this dude."
That's Fenrir Greyback. The werewolf who attacked Lupin as a child. In the books it's explained that he's the most bloodthirsty werewolf who ever lived, that he wants to infect so many wizards that he can take over their society, and that he's become so addicted to blood, especially children's blood, that he even sometimes mauls people when he isn't transformed. In the books, he mauls Bill Weasley (Ron's eldest brother) shortly after Dumbledore is killed, and that's why he's scarred in the next movie.

the prince reveal is so cool in the books. its lightly portrayed in the movie but in book the reveal is so shaking to harry bc he spends the whole book obsessively reading the book. he gets so close to the person hes reading like a best friend, learning all these cool spells invented by the writer (some of which like what he used on draco turns out to be brutal dark magic) and potion tricks that make him so good in class, and at the same time being so suspicious of snape and draco and ofc hating snape the last 5 books. to find out the writer of the book he idolized was snape devastated him

    • @dalehammers4425

Yup, and its hinted at when in the books Harry hits Draco with Septum Sempra Snape orders him to show him his potions book, because Snape was the only person alive that knew the spell since he created it. And Harry is fortunate that Snape was so close when he cast it on Draco, because Snape is also the only person alive that knows the counter-curse. By one spell alone Snape knew that Harry had his old book.

What I love about the reveal of Snape being the Half-Blood Prince is how tongue-in-cheek the meaning behind the name is. So, Snape’s mom is a pureblooded witch but his dad Tobias Snape is a muggle, making him a half-blood. And his mom’s maiden name was Eileen Prince. See how clever 16-year-old Severus was? 😂

When you asked “Why aren’t we calling out the Order of the Phoenix” when they went to the cave, the horcrux hunt was top secret because they didn’t want to tip Voldy off that they’re looking for the objects that tie him to life so he could hide them better or possibly make more. Dumbledore had a theory that Voldy made a horcrux but he had no idea there were 6 horcruxs / lifelines + part of Voldy’s soul still in his body = splitting the soul into 7 pieces

  • @Masq1980
    @Masq1980 9 месяцев назад +2

it is amusing the way in the beginning you questioned Dumbledore's outfit - if I remember correctly - in the first book, there is a part in the beginning where Vernon Dursley thinking to himself about some weirdly dressed people in robes and such on his way to or from work to emphasize to the reader the opinion of normalcy the Dursley's have.
I believe the Death Eaters were trying to recruit Slughorn because he's a Slytherin and remember what Ron said in the first one 'There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin' (though as we know that's not quite true as Pettigrew was in Gryffindor). Slytherin isn't wholly *bad* just it gets a bad rap and a lot of the traits which exemplify Slytherin are traits that could potentially sway one over to the dark side - Slytherin are known for being ambitious, determination, resourcefulness, cunning.
    Tom and his tomfoolery lol
'Hopefully Ron doesn't think Harry and Hermione are together we can avoid any unnecessary drama' lol that going through my mind knowing what is coming is rather amusing!
The guy with Belatrix at the Weasley's was Fenrir Greyback - he's a werewolf, and he's also the werewolf that actually attacked Lupin when he was a kid and infected him with lycanthropy.
The things in the water in Voldemort's hiding place are called Inferi. They are corpses that have been bewitched to do a Dark wizard's bidding; dead bodies, that have been reanimated by some form of the Dark Arts. Snape, growing up was a potions prodigy - bit of a call back to that was in movie number 3 when Sirius says to Severus 'Why don't you go play with your chemistry set!'
Loving the heartfelt and genuine reaction - not a lot of reactors actually get so emotional and let it be seen on screen. It takes courage to show that vulnerability and I think you are awesome and one of my favorite reactors to this series because of that! Also your insights are brilliant and you are really perceptive, picking up on a lot of stuff that usually goes overlooked!

    "Incarcerous!"
"Fight back, you coward! Fight back!"
"No! He belongs to the Dark Lord!"
    "Sectumsempra!"
"You dare use my own spells against me, Potter? Yes. I'm the Half Blood Prince."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Sarah Alexandra Marks, Isabella Laughland, and Teresa Mahoney.
Final Bow Fact: Robert Knox was tragically stabbed to death on May 24, 2008, just a few days after filming wrapped.
Looney For Luna Fact: In the previous book, Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) wears a hat in the shape of a lion head that roars to show her support for Gryffindor and a pair of Spectrespecs but they didn't make it to the film adaptation. She wears both in this movie.
Casting Notes Fact: Hero Fiennes Tiffin was cast as Tom Riddle, age eleven, while his uncle, Ralph Fiennes played Lord Voldemort. His parents are Martha Fiennes (Ralph's sister) and George Tiffin. Director David Yates says that he hired Hero because of his resemblance to his uncle, but not specifically because he was the actor's nephew. He liked the dark haunted quality about the young actor.
Location Location Fact: Filming returned to Gloucester Cathedral for the first time since Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (2002). The night scenes were filmed in the quaint village of Lacock and the cloisters at Lacock Abbey for three nights, October 25 to 28, 2007. Filming took place from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. and residents of the street were asked to black out their windows with dark blinds. The entrance to "The Leaky Cauldron" and, behind it, Diagon Alley is shown to be on Great Newport Street, just off Charing Cross Road, between the bookshop and number 12.
Lost In Adaptation Fact: Unlike the book, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ginny (Bonnie Wright) become an item during the Christmas holidays. It was never explained why Ginny and Dean (Alfred Enoch) split up in this movie, but it is strongly implied they argued a lot as hinted by Hermione (Emma Watson) during the Slugclub scene. Atop the Astronomy Tower, Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) casts a spell on Harry, forcing him to watch helplessly as the events unfold. However this movie makes Harry look like a coward standing around as Dumbledore is killed by Snap. Even though the titular "Half-Blood Prince" is finally identified to be Severus Snape (Alan Rickman), oddly enough, the movie doesn't explain why he is called that. At the end of the book, Hermione finds out that Snape was a half-blood wizard, since his mother was a witch and his father a Muggle. Because his mother's maiden name was Eileen Prince, and Snape identified more with his wizard heritage (and aware that he wasn't a pure-blood), he invented the nickname "Half-Blood Prince" for himself.

My music history professor in college told me that the music when Harry kneels by Dumbledore’s body is based on the same chord progression as an aria called Dido’s Lament from the opera Dido and Aeneas. It’s essentially meant to be the epitome of despair in musical form. I never saw that scene the same way again

"I wanna know more about this dude."
that is Fenrir Greyback, leader of the werewolves, the most savage and brutal of his kind. In fact, he's the very werewolf who turned Lupin into one. Lupin's father had offended Greyback and so he bit his son as retribution. Greyback especially enjoys biting children so they'll grow up hating normal witches and wizards from being shunned by them. Voldemort has threatened in the past and present to unleash Greyback upon people's sons and daughters if they don't agree to serve him. Worse is that Greyback has become so much more beast than man that he even attacks without the full moon. His thirst for human flesh has become that unquenchable.

I love how even though you're watching these for the first time, you take the time to memorize names and actions that happened in previous movies. When it comes to Aragogg, most reactors I watch always say "oh that's that giant spider, what's its name?" But, you, immediately, "Oh is that Aragogg?" Awesome reaction.

In the movies, when the burrow was burned now, that was not in the books, also, there was a battle on the astromony tower that got Bill Weasley, the oldest Weasley sibling, (he was cut out of the sixth film entirely)scratched and attacked by Fenrir Greyback, that guy that burned down the burrow, also the werewolf that bit Lupin.
For some reason, in the film, they made Lupin and Tonks, as a couple already, this was not in the books, as Lupin refused to be with Tonks, since he said he was to old, to poor, and too dangerous. But he later got together with Tonks due to the example Fleur set that she was still going to be with Fleur even though look unrecognizable by the scars(he isn’t a werewolf though because he wasn’t scratched nor but during the full moon). The book was one of the darkest, but the movies were kind of comedy. Ginny was messed up badly in this film(Luna and Harry probaby have more chemistry than Ginny and Harry😂)Their is just a lot that the movies skipped out, by as always, love your reactions❤Can’t wait for the 2 deathly Hallows movie reaction!

The reason Professor Snape called himself The Half Blood Prince is because his mother who was a witch had the maiden name of "Prince". He loved his mother and was proud of her. But his muggle father was very abusive. Snape hated his father so much that he liked referring to himself as the Half Blood Prince rather than the name of his father's last name of "Snape" during his years as a student in Hogwarts.
The ironic thing about Harry is he always had a hard time learning potions from Professor Snape. But the moment Harry found Snape's old text book with all of Snape's hand written notes and didn't realized that it had belonged to Snape Harry suddenly began to excel in potions.

Hey. Just wanted to say, I found your channel (I think) three days ago. Watched all The Lord of the Rings reactions currently up - which I'm loving btw, and was waiting to comment on the final LOTR reaction... until I watched this. It gets even darker. But trust that the story has an arc to it; characters too have their arc. And Rowlings was a masterful writer who created intricacies none of us foresaw. Part 1 and 2 probably have to be seen separately; they were divided because of the length in the first place. 1 is very necessary to set up the conclusion of the tale. You could do them together but it would be pretty long and there's a lot to digest along the way.

I actually feel bad for Draco here. Voldemort wants him to kill Dumbledore and he knows what it means if he doesn’t. He must be super frightened. Especially since Voldemort only gave him that task cause he was angry with Lucius. I would bet he even knew Draco wasn’t likely to succeed.

My only major quibble with this film is that I wish they could have included Dumbledore's funeral, both for its poignancy and for the Ministry politics just below the surface. They had to condense a lot for these films, but the internal politics of the Ministry are fascinating and could make a whole movie in their own right.

Agreed. Each book is an astounding revelation about the events of the year, but at the same time, by this point in the book series it was clear: each new story was going to recontextualize the events of not just that year, but previous years, as well.
To go back and see how well all the unseen events really did shape things is some excellent writing / film making.

I think DH part 1 and 2 are really different in pace and plot, so watching them separately makes more sense. Part 1 is more of a road trip movie, where part 2 is the grand finale you would expect from an epic franchise.
Your reaction to the lifted wands over Dumbledore is just like mine. I cry every time, even though I've seen it dozens of times now. It's such a poignant and moving tribute, just with the quiet simplicity of it.

The death eater you wanted to “know more about” is Fenrir Greyback. He is a werewolf and actually bit Remus Lupin to make him a werewolf when Lupin was only 4. Fenrir’s main goal was also to infect as many people as possible to create a werewolf army strong enough to overthrow the wizarding world

Professor Dumbledore's death was one of the most traumatic for Harry to witness. Right alongside his parents' murder at the hands of Voldemort when he was 15 months old, Cedric Diggory at the ratty (pun fully intended) hands of Wormtail during the last task of the Triwizard Tournament in that graveyard, and Sirius dying at the hands of his psychotic cousin Bellatrix Lestrange before he disappeared into the Veil in the Ministry Of Magic. Also, this is one of the few times Ron is shown to be intelligent in the movies. The scene on the Hogwarts Express where he's explaining the Unbreakable Vow to Harry, specifically.
    Side notes:
I've caught crap for this in the past, but I don't care: it's only explained in the deleted scene from the movie adaptation of Philosopher's Stone: A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat that can remedy most poisons. (The oversized raisin-looking thing Harry shoves into Ron's mouth when he gets poisoned)
A fact that wasn't in the movie (it's in the book) is that Harry gave Fred & George the money to open their shop Weasley's Wizard Wheezes (say that 5 times fast) from his Triwizard Tournament winnings on the caveat that they buy Ron new dress robes and say they were from them.
I definitely felt like Hermione when Lavender was cuddled up to Ron. (When she said "Excuse me, I have to go and vomit.")

    • @DianeGraft
      @DianeGraft 11 месяцев назад +1

From the books, there's another reference to a bezoar: In the Half-Blood Prince's potions book, on the page about poison antidotes, there's a scribbled note "Just shove a bezoar down his throat".

This really shows how most of the wisleys always refuse harry's money, he had to give it to the twins and they pretended the robes for ron were from them. That's just sweet! People always comment, omg harry is so rich and he doesnt help them. They just don't let him lol

This series really is a great one to mature on.
I’m always fascinated to learn how people chose to show these to their children, once the whole series was finished and could be viewed in one go, instead of as they grew up. Took like 10 years to get through all these movies lol Just imagining the lives of all the kids who were Harry/Hermione’s age alongside these films is crazy.
    So much lol

Whether or not you want to do Part I and Part II together or their own reactions is up to you. I think splitting the parts is the most popular desicion, and it makes more sense, but smashing them together is I think what I'd like. But still, splitting it would make way more sense. They're still two long movies.

Aww. I wish I could give you a hug! As much as you feel sad about losing Dumbledore, consider what it was like before the movies, when we were reading the books over time, getting emotionally involved for YEARS, only to lose Dumbledore. I absolutely SOBBED. It was the first time a fictional character's death just ripped my heart out.
A lot of people who haven't seen the series assume it's all innocent wizarding fun, yes, and when I tell them it gets dark and heavy, they roll their eyes. Their loss, honestly! The progressively darker tone is really quite genius of Rowling, because it gives the readers (most of whom are children and teenagers, but not always of course) a chance to mature alongside the story. It's incredibly well-paced in that sense. And as much as I love this movie for giving Draco's character complexity and turmoil, I dislike how they handled the Half Blood Prince storyline and reveal. It was much more impactful in the book, and was better explained.
Great reaction. Looking forward to the final two installments!
