Wow, I really needed to hear this. I feel like we as athletes are so prone to overthinking our way into the belief that we are done improving. One bad race or one bad training block and our worry/anxiety tries to doom us. This is the motivation I need to go back to base to prep for Big Sugar!
trying to reach full potential is a life style not just a half ass'd goal. the point isnt to find a result. its about learning and growing as we die and diminish back to the nothingness of everything. i think a lot of it is spiritual and being very thoughtful with every thought, breathe, action, and so on. for most ppl that can be overwhelming because theyre so far gone as theyve made a life based around superficial things including timelines, but life shouldnt always be stressful and doesnt have to be.
Fantastic discussion as always. The discussion on recovery weeks really hit home with me as in the last week or so is the first time that I have failed to execute planned workouts and at 51, Im having a hard time with balancing my eagerness to train versus my need for recovery as I get older. This week I just simply felt unmotivated for the first time in many months so have taken the week off altogether and it will be interesting to see how I go when I get back into it next week
My XTR SPD pedals lasted less than a year before they fell apart so I use XT pedals for my MTB and the ES600 pedals on all my road bikes and gravel bike.
No Nate 🙁 His usual way of getting somewhat off topic usually improves learning how topics for in with other aspects. The randomizer aspect mixed with the other hosts.
Johnathan. Have you tried EMDR for swimming? "Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a mental health treatment technique. This method involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. EMDR's goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences." It works to disable the effects of previous experiences.
Learned a lot from Hanna❤ Thanks!
👏Amazing that you can continue to push out high quality content for 400+ episodes.
Love the podcast

I love career audits, I need to submit one :)
Ergon TP1 is a great till for pedal cleats.
Jonathan following The Office slogan when positioning cleats (limitless paper)
I can’t do long races without doing long rides. Not possible without suffering major cramping.
Love using a dropper on CX courses where it makes sense. Don’t know why more folks don’t use them.
They aren’t just handing out dropper posts for free!
QTWTAIN if there ever there was one!

Zoom out a bit! 😊
I’m sorry but Hannah’s vocal thing at the end of sentences is so annoying and distracting
