I can't believe Ensign Ollie (demigod) was charging up to do a Kamehameha during the climax showdown with the Klingons 😂
I’m glad there were no cameos from Picard or Riker. Their presence would’ve distracted from a story that was meant to celebrate the Cerritos and its crew
I think a brief cameo would have validated and cemented the Cerritos crew as up there among the best of Starfleet. A nice icing on the cake.
I’m glad Picard wasn’t in it as it would have overshadowed the whole episode. It’ll be like “These Are The Voyages…” all over again.
Though at this point, Picard would’ve already been promoted to Admiral, would be busy negotiating with the Romulans with their evacuation. So Worf would most likely be the Enterprise-E’s Captain
Yea I was thinking like in Enterprise finale how much criticism was placed on throwing TNG into it. You didn't need Picard and it was all about the Lower Decks cast as it should be.
There is no concrete date that handover happened. All we know is that happened at the time of the Romulan evac/relocation. Which is around 2382-2384. And that's the same time as Season 5 LDS. So its conceivable the end of Season 5 LDS is just before Picard leaves the Enterprise E.
Same he doesn’t need to be in everything!
@@Sci-Finatics actually according to the final episode of Season 3, Jean-Luc was already promoted to Admiral and according to Novel “The Last Best Hope” it was set in 2381. So by the time of the series finale, Picard would’ve already left the Enterprise-E.
This felt so much like the setup for a Starbase 80 - New frontiers Series.😊
Star Trek Lower Decks had already established that Jean Luc Picard is an Admiral. So, the captain of the USS Enterprise-E would have been Worf.
I am disappointed the series has ended. There was so much left to explore, especially as far as character development is concerned. In particular, T'Lyn. She is without a doubt my favourite Vulcan in all the Star Trek universe! On the surface, she was a typical Vulcan. As her character developed, she showed unconventional Vulcan traits, especially a sense of humour. Although it's not obviously apparent, she showed us precisely why she was transferred to Star Fleet by the Vulcans. I LOVE T'Lyn!
Engage the Core!!!
The way I screamed with laughter. So corny and so Ransom!
@EMItilIdie engage the "core muscles" engage the "warp core." But also, in story telling, engage the "core fan." Another subtle moment of brillance from Lower Decks.
@@chadmacgargle5311 I got the joke
If the TNG crew showed up at the end it would have destroyed the entire honoring of the LD series and crew in this very last episode of the series. In fact, it would have been nearly as destructive and dishonoring of the series as "These Are The Voyages" was to Enterprise. So grateful they focused ONLY on the Certios crew and skipped any more cameos, which they fully celebrated in e9. True trekkies would have been disgusted.
A very good season finale and series finale and wrap up. Lots of sadness that the series is over. Engaging episode with tears of appreciation provided at the end. Basically all significant characters of the series (yay, no Peanut Hamper!) Were brought back to wrap up 5 seasons of adventures.
Bravo. 👏💔😪🖖
THIS finale makes the cerritos crew the greatest crew in the trek verse surpassing all other past crews. wild.
McMahan knows better than to have the finale dominated by guest stars like Ent. The episode was all about our Cerritos crew. Episode nine was our fan service episode
The "brothers" were obviously the guys that were in the Ma'ah stories. The "lower decks" Klingon captain that wanted to start a war using the packleds and the Klingon on the board that stood in the way of Ma'ah's return to captaincy. They were both brothers and it's obvious that Relga was the sister.
Things like this, are the things than makes me didn't suscribe to the channel of the Aliexpress version of Leonard Hoschtafer
Throughout the series they'd make the occasional gag that "If this were a real emergency they'd send the Enterprise". The line about the Enterprise being en route is a pay-off to those jokes and serves the story by telling the viewer that Starfleet recognizes the threat, but help is simply too far away.
The previous episode leading into this one was all about fun cameos. this one needed to highlight the Cerritos crew. So I'm glad we didn't get a Picard drop in. Additionally, we know that Picard has already been promoted to Admiral by now (The Stars At Night), and wouldn't be in command of the Enterprise. It'd likely be Worf as captain at this point.
Also a reference to all the times the _Enterprise_ was, for some reason, the only ship close enough to any given crisis. This time the _Enterprise_ is just too far away.
The high stakes, humor, character development, resolution, and audacity of hope make this one of the best Star Trek finales in history.
Wouldn't Worf have already been in command of the Enterprise E at this point
Yeah
I dont think we have an exact date on this. All we know is that sometime after Star Trek Nemesis, at the time of the Romulan evac and relocation Picard was promoted to Admiral, left the Ent-E in the hands of Captain Worf to go command the Odyssey.
@@Sci-Finatics In the season 3 finale, Mariner finds out that Petra's getting her funding from "Admiral Picard", so this is after his promotion! (Excellent video btw :D)
Merry Christmas to all. Bring back lower Decks.
The writers were poking the trope of the Enterprise always saving the day.
Mariner calling Boimler Handsome and Cool was surprising to hear xD she likes beards, remember the hologram on the voyager museum episode
I'm sad that Lower Decks have come to an end. But I'm in for Starbase 80 show, I want a Starbase 80 show.
I thought that might have been the new Tawny Newsome comedy, set on that starbase, before it was confirmed to be a Risa or Risa-type location.
This Episode made me have an emotional response.
This new Netflix era with seasons only going 10 episodes long feels so unrewarding. In total it's only as long as 2 seasons of TNG.
I like how the ending was and would be a great show idea they should have a Star Trek lower decks spinoff.
it's sad that this show had to end
Sounds like they left things in a good spot for someone(s) to try and take up the storyline again one day.
I hope we get more Maah and Malor in the future those two are great together
The lazy eyed albino Pekingese Targ was a hilariously PERFECT inclusion...and T'Ana stating that all Klingon ships look like a 'stupid bird'...she IS a Caitian...
I think that was supposed to be a Chihuahua Targ.
@@GeoStreber Apologies...all I care about is English Springers..
I absolutely loved the finale episode and the entire series of Lower Decks! I am going to miss those bumbling lower deckers. Thanks Nick for your great videos too, I always came here to check the review immediately after watching an episode.
Perhaps no Picard or Riker screentime for not take the fame away from Lower decks. Also my catchphrase to Engage Warp Speed would be perhaps "Let's Jump!"
Having Picard ON SCREEN would have been too much but they could have had Shax read a message from Picard maybe.
Just seeing the E there was good for me. But wouldn’t it had been nice to see the Enterprise get damage there with Worf as Captain?. And get an explanation of why it was damaged beyond repair😂
@@javiercarrasco3042 I feel like @sci_finatics is right, if you mention a gun the gun goes off and the Enterprize is Star Treks biggest gun. It was nice to at least see the E bur some cameo would have "engaged the core" a bit more.
I am OK, just seeing the Enterprise E, and didn't really have to see Riker or Picard there. Just knowing we see the E before it get's destroyed in Prodigy was just a treat. Remember, it's not about the Enterprise, it is all about the Cerritos. This is their moment to shine. I hope we get more adventures from the Cerritos. Technically, yes....shouldn't be called Lower Decks anymore, as the main cast are no longer lower deckers. 😊
wait, when was it established the destruction of the Enterprise E happened in Prodigy?
@@edkwon dude, who knows? Nowadays you have to keep up with every little silly minor detail that's ever mentioned in some offshoot comic or some fringe tv show, apparently. It's a hassle.
I think T'Lyn's and Tendi's science besti move was a reference to Dragonball Z fusions like Gogeta. 🤔 Also the first Klingon captain might have changed to a Disco version Klingon (which felt hilarious and kinda creepy 😂)
Speaking of DBZ, I can't believe Ensign demigod was charging up to do a Kamehame ha 😂
@@edkwonyou are right! How could I miss this? 😂
That Multiverse Portal That Stayed Open that they had to Build a Starbase to Guard it I Hope it appears in Future Live Action Star Trek Series in the Future.
I am saddened that this series is over. It should've gotten 7 seasons. It was that good.
I agree 7 seasons would have been good, but I just dont think the viewership was there in the last couple of seasons. There are still a lot of people out there that refuse to watch animation because "thats only for kids"
I sad it's over also. In my opinion it has been the best Trek in 20 years.
The name drop payoff was that we DIDN’T get the overly anticipated Enterprise moments. They already had 'stuck their nose' into (ST) Enterprise's finale. Cerritos strong...
I definately going to missed Star Trek lower decks Series because it's the second animated Serious with hilarious comedy that makes us laught and I'm happy to see a very few wish lists have came true before the Series comes to the end.
I thought this was a brilliant episode and agree with others they was no need to have others cameo in this episode, that was done in the last episode. This episode was about our crew and in typical Star Trek fashion THEM saving the universe. We had so many Easter Eggs in this episode as it was. It was the perfect ending for the series yet leaving it open for a couple of possibilities for sequels. I feel this isn’t the last we will see of them or animated Star Trek.
They landed it, it was a bit tripped up by studio canceling it, so the episodes running into the finale, although great were a bit out of place, taken as whole over the whole though the episode, it nailed it, no legacy characters, make it about the main universe eponymous lower deckers was the right call. a fantastic wrap. of one of the most memorable series of the fanchise.
I'm sure the reasons Steward and Franks weren't in this episode was part of the cost to pay them, and like other comments before me, they would overshadow the rest of the cast. Availability may have also been a factor as well.
Given that Frakes has done a cameo in Star Trek: Lower Decks at least twice before, this comment is illogical.
He is hooked on Picard
Sucks Lower Decks is no more, and it was so damn good!~
But all good things come to a end, where as garbage like big brother stays on!~
@@Warg666 maybe we get a space station 80 spin off??
@@chadmacgargle5311 Would be nice to see, who knows🤔
I believe its called "Chekhov's Enterprise"
I most humbly, respectfully, disagree. I don't think this is the last episode, I think it's the start of a break. Or as a friend of mine put it better, "I won't give it an obituary, but I'll raise a glass to toast!"
I know a lot of people (right or wrong) were worried the Enterprise, and maybe some Next Gen crew, would have a cameo and take away from the ending. (Like happened in the final episode of "Enterprise".)
The most wonderful thing I take away from the shows, is how I can talk and share with so many folks about Trek. I am constantly surprised how many people watch and appreciate Trek, and even when there are a wide variety of views and disagreements (like who's the best Captain), it's possible to disagree with warm feelings and a smile.
As always, thank you so very much for the videos.
Thanks for your viewership!
There's already an existing multiversal gateway network found by the USS Discovery's spore drive with access to the Multiversal Nexus. If you go by the comics&novels, Kirk's Enterprise has 4 or 5 methods of travelling the multiverse just that they need a way to navigate it.
I was kinda hoping that this episode would've shown how Worf lost the E
Thanks
I appreciate it! Thanks so much!
I love the different uss certis
Loved the rift scenes! reminded me of Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
sorry to see this series end
It never occurred to me that Rutherfords implant was the reason he wasnt really succeeding in relationships. I kind of found it especially weird with all the intimate stuff him and tendi do. So it being the implant makes so much sense.
Shouldve figured it out sooner considering it has all sorts of features like different moods and inhibitors.
But i do hope he doesnt revert back to his old self.
I didn't expect much from the show not being a big animated series fan but after 5 seasons Lower Decks has become my favorite of the new treks and this is coming from some one who actually thought the first couple of seasons of Discovery was pretty entertaining and won't allow any bad talk about Picard.
The finale was perfection.
We get arcs and endings for all the crew members
An a potential for 2 spin-off cartoon shows
Star Trek Cerritos
Star Trek Starbase 80
Boimler and Mariner are on both shows.
Also. Love the Klingon Chihuahua Targ
Did he already say he missed big cameos? Can't remember. 😉
Picard is an admiral at this point. Worf wouldve been in command of the E
They could have ended the series with the crew accidentally wrecking the Enterprise-E for a bit of fun continuity that would totally be in line with the show.
For me, i didnt want any hint of the next gen cast giving any sort of summation or approval for the Cerritos at the end. That's shades too close to the end of Enterprise.
Loved freeman tried to escape her counterparts fate only to embrace it. Curio did i miss a koala cameo?
Thought I saw Ezri Dax voice actor listed first in voice credits Nicole De Bear
De-Boer Sir
you kept mentioning how disappointed you were that there wasnt a Picard cameo and yet personally It never occurred to me that there should or would have been. I disagree that it was needed I dont feel it was and we had enough cameos last episode detracting from the crew.
I was surprised at the season as a whole, and although this was a barnstorming finale it seemed like too little too late to make up for the previous lacklustre episodes.
We must be careful with fan expectations as when they dont happen we mustn't get disappointed!
The one thing I was almost expecting to happen was the reverse of 'those old scientists' from SNW where at the end the crew were depicted in animation form.... I was expecting the Cerritos crew to be shown in live action - or at least just Boimler and Mariner and somehow leading the way for the characters to continue to appear in other Trek shows in their live action versions..... but that didnt happen.
Imagine Live action B&M ending Lower Decks messing about and being transported through another portal and ending up in the far future in Starfleet Academy.... im sure they would make a fun addition to that show and keep the memory of Lower Decks alive at the same time.
Chekhov's gun. You don't mention the Enterprise in dialogue and then not have it pay off later. 🤷🏻♂️
I guess I felt like why name drop the Enterprise multiple times and show it parked next to the Cerritos at the end if you arent going to feature a cameo? That seemed like a cruel tease. They should not have done that as it sets up an expectation that isnt paid off.
10 out of 10 finale.
Would have been awesome if they went live action for a few moments.
Yeah I was hoping Tendi and Rutherford were going to get a quick live action moment as they switched between quantum realities.
I expect a new series for the middle decks or upper decks.
great presentation
Thanks!
As much as I would have loved to have seen Picard.... No it wouldn't have been good. This was about the USS Cerritos and her crew This was there finale their moment. 😢😢😢😢😢😢 I can't help crying I'm going to miss them
I agree it was about the Cerritos crew but having Picard give them validation and kudos would have been a nice icing on the cake.
such a good series. hard to belive this got me into being a trekkie when it cameout. i already liked the Navy and i love learning about ships so seeing this as a navy show set in space hooked me! now i gotta wait for strange new worlds to end so i can watch the original show since i spoil it for myself and know how to ends for Captain Pike and i dont want to spoil it anymore that i have too.
But i do hope this isnt the end, that warner bros CEO sucks i hope hes gone in 2025 so the show can get picked up again and keep it going
Who was that cadet Mariner scared in the mess hall? Was that a the creator of the Lower Decks?
I just watched a little of this show. Yeah..
Picard was an admiral and probably not there.
Thank you.
1 ,10
I'm glad Riker and Picard were not in it, that would completely de-value the crew and series as a whole. It would be like them patronising patting on their back saying 'look at you, you did well'. They are the Cerritos crew, they stand on their own.
Technically the captain of enterprise could have been worf. From a comment in Picard season 3 worf is captain of enterprise for a while.
I think the timeline at the end of lower decks probably would have been just before Picard left and handed the keys to Worf.
@@Sci-Finatics this would have been the time right before by 2-3 years for the romulan evacuation. Also Picard would have not been captaining the enterprise when he is an admiral at this time.
Chekhov's Gunterprise? ;)
I am just curious how they'II explain that they didn't use this rift to bring help in Prodigy and Picard.
also, I find it disapointing that T'Lyn and T'Pol did not interact, since they both were in the series. After all, they're both some rebious Vulcans.
Gave me a feeling the rift was to only one alternate universe potentially not multiple
@@jameswg13 But they could have still used it to bring reinformcements. Like more unlinked ships in Picards Season 3. They'd better have a good explanation for that.
Engage the CORE!
I love iss cetera ❤
Or is it? Lower Decks yes but the crew not so fast
ENGAGE THE CORE!!!! 😅😅😅😅
It would not have been Picard on the Enterprise E it would have been captain Worf. We should have gotten that. What kind of fan are you?
There is no concrete date that handover happened. All we know is that happened at the time of the Romulan evac/relocation. Which is around 2382-2384. And that's the same time as Season 5 LDS. So its conceivable the end of Season 5 LDS is just before Picard leaves the Enterprise E. That's what kind of fan I am.
I strongly disagree with the Picard thing, because, well, you should start to learn TO NOT GROW SPECTATIVES ON THINGS
Also because in this point in time, the CO of the Enterprise it's Worf 👍👉🏻
Sad how it ended RIGHT as it got good.
🙂👍🏾🖖🏾🎥
2:20 I went over to Cameo website after you said this. Those are around 20 seconds. Johnny Frakes is $300, Spiner is $299. Patrick Stewart is not on there at all but that’s how I would have done that because you know he’s not accepting no Jolene Blalock pennys.
The episode itself was “edging”. I wasn’t counting so I thought we had 1 or 2 more. It was a great 3rd season “Growing the beard” episode but a real “Meh” fest of a finale and only 30 minutes? Geez guys! Left a lot of questions that a cartoon would leave open. I loved this series but it could have had more effort applied. I guess it was good if I wanted more. We need our own “Clone Wars” so grown men like me can curl up in our man caves with a bowl of…something on Saturday morning and get that kid feeling. I gotta remember to cancel P+ TODAY!
5 seasons. Also they originally didn't know it was going to be the final season so
@ you don’t get what I’m saying but O.K.
I was hoping for #picard too
I thought it was a pretty lame finale, to be honest. You don't try to parody or make fun of the whole concept of a 'multiverse' but then make that concept the entire crux of your story. Also, I'm getting tired of the term 'multiverse' anyway. Hearing that term makes me want to tune out. No one ever used that term until a few years ago. It's a very Marvel-ish Zoomer type of term. 🙄
Did you see the article about your racist Discovery out of Cannon. Might as well erase strange new worlds because guess what Spock still believe he still has a freaking sister. Star Trek fans are not true Star Trek fans because how many times does Discovery season 5 has a proof it is canon. If this guy's article is that stupid that means your favorite TV show it's not canon either so who wrote the article is stupid and obviously he doesn't pay any attention to the show at all because guess what. Alternate universe still has the same freaking characters in each universe, which means discovery is still part of the prime universe. Article is so stupid it doesn't bother to do the actual research I'm sorry but I'm sorry if you hate Discovery I am sorry if you hate every single new TV and the new one is coming out that is the sequel to Discovery cuz obviously you're not too fat a true fan sticks with all the stories. I am sorry if you hate the show but I am so sick of you ruining this show for everybody else but by the way Discovery is canon and guess what that also shows snw because they in a comment of her in the first season. Thank you and example why she was not mentioned the rest of this series I'm sorry but you need to grow up and stop acting like a child because I like you I like Discovery and I'm a big fan of Star Trek I like the original I like next Generation I like this space night I like Voyager I like the Enterprise I like Discovery I like all of them I am a true fan of Star Trek
You're off your medication again Grandpa. Get some help you obviously need it. And also learn how to spell and use grammar.
I'm glad this is done is really respect you Nick but after 5 seasons of what I would call the unfunny star trek show on television it deserved to go on a low note if I had to pick at least one good thing about this show is when Mariner got booted of the Certos in season 3 that was the best moment in that show but overall I give the entire series a 3 out 10 the characters don't excite me the space battles are great but the writing and some of the acting just completely cringe except for Dawnn Lewis Captain Carol Freeman she at least try's to put in a effort but all that Star Trek Lower Decks is good for is member berris bringing back former Star Trek actors and actress for shock value and the one thing I won't miss about this show is Twanny Newsome I'm sorry but she is a try hard of being this Mary Sue girl boss and it doesn't work her acting would make Snequa Martin Green blush even her acting from Discovery was worse and Jerry O 'Connell seriously he needs to go back to acting school because after Sliders he's acting carrier just went down the toliet
Finally, about time they canned this travesty of a Trek show. Good riddance.
Looks like there is not any same sex marriage indoctrination BS like last episode. I’ll give it a watch.
Get over it you homophobe, the Garak-Bashir shipping was something already well known to long time DS9 fans because originally Andy Robinson originally wanted to play the character as having a sexual attraction to Bashir, but the higher ups and producers told him to tone down that angle
Oh get over yourself, the Garak-Bashir shipping thing was something already well known to long time DS9 fans due to Andy Robinson himself wanted to play the friendship angle with Bashir as a sexual attraction and him constantly trying to seduce the Doctor
I don’t think you really understand what the word “indoctrination” means. Most Star Trek fans aren’t homophobic; maybe you need to go watch a Rambo movie or something
