Don't forget to pray for Kendrick. 3:58 -- BLOOD. 6:08 -- DNA. 8:43 -- YAH. 11:04 -- ELEMENT. 14:55 -- FEEL. 18:06 -- LOYALTY. 20:33 -- PRIDE. 24:30 -- HUMBLE. 25:50 -- LUST. 30:35 -- LOVE. 32:26 -- XXX. 37:32 -- FEAR. 43:15 -- GOD. 46:00 -- DUCKWORTH. Great reaction! You kept up very well and I loved the DAMN. counter, lol. Personally: TPAB > GKMC > DAMN., and all of them are incredible. I want to post my thoughts on these tracks, but have to gather my thoughts first. I'd check out Tabby's reaction; there's a pinned comment there that aptly explains the theory that this album tells different stories when played regularly and in reverse, the difference being whether he lives through fear (his father lives in DUCKWORTH.) or rap (when the album is played backwards, when his father is killed in DUCKWORTH.) But even beyond all that heady conceptual shit, I appreciate this album because every song has its own concept that people relate to. I've heard so many people have different favorite songs, and I don't think that happens with albums often. I also think this album was very therapeutic for Kendrick, where he could finally talk about himself and his feelings without making a message [TPAB] or exclusively talking about who he USED to be [GKMC]. Basically, I love the production and lyrics of ten tracks and think I'll go back to them regularly. I like how simply you can choose to take this album, and I like hearing how Kendrick feels about his life and what's happening around him.
Insight Hey man thank you for putting all the times! You didn't have to do that, and i really appreciate it! and yeah ive seen that playing it from the end forward as the concept. It's crazy how he is still able to come up with these ideas and album concepts and is still able to say exactly what he want to say! I agree I think this was very therapeutic for him. He wasn't as tightly confined as the first two albums and he still killed it. He hasn't failed me yet As for favorite albums i don't think this is better than the others but again it's still a very good album and will definitively be someone's favorite.
No worries, it wasn't THAT much work. I just also wanted to give you props for really dissecting FEAR. It's personally my favorite song on the album [obviously not something to play around company, of course], and I really think the jump in ten years is brilliant, and each of the three Kendricks' fears are so damned vivid. I'm glad you liked it too.
I'm actually one of those that really enjoys when reactors/reviewers use a bit of editing and skits, because it shows me that you're really tryin and putting effort into the video. Makes me enjoy it more. Good job, man.
+PhoenixXZY thank you man! I'm glad you enjoy it! That's why i do it! Besides that fact that it make me laugh too lol Thank you for watching! I appreciate you noticing the effort!
"every stone thrown at you restin' at my feet. Why god, why god, do i gotta suffer. The pain in my heart i carry burns from the struggle. Why god, why god, do i gotta bleed. Every stone thrown at you restin' at my feet." is what kendrick is saying in FEAR. when it's reversed.
MW2fabian I'm at 72 strokes only 20 minutes in I can't stop now I'm in too deep and if he sees this comment. Nice editing and I like the analysis after each song
+myfatassdick hahahahah i can't believe you really counted man! That's hilarious! Thank you for watching man! Also I commend you for your dedication to counting my chin strokes!
Some of your facial expressions were PRICELESS! I laughed so hard when you heard secret society and the backwards lyrics. 😂😂😂 I have had a new favorite track everyday that I have listened. It kicked off with DNA. and HUMBLE. Then, it was ELEMENT. Then, XXX. Today, it is FEAR. We shall see what tomorrow may bring.
In the song lust he's talking about his thirst for lust as he's speaking to the girl saying I just need you to want me & his voice changes to the evil voice asking to fuck basically then he tells her he respects it & a small voice but says it like I know it's wrong . Then he goes on to paint the regular day of someone who has lustful ways
A little late but eh. It’s also about his “lust” for fame, it’s like he’s describing it as the apple from Adam and Eve, he knows he shouldn’t, but he just wants a taste of the glory.
He doesn't think he's pacs reincarnation...he's pacs offspring..referring back to pacs song to my unborn child. Pac made that song for the next big leader that he inspired not cause he literally had a son
@the unearthly daniel p Hey man can you tell me where you got that dope chance B&W poster over your right shoulder?? I been looking all over for it and can't find it... Thanks man!! love the reaction vid btw! :)
I Love the entire Album it's 🔥 it's a story...Dope! Each song hits me in different ways, I honestly don't have a favorite because each song has a vibe and something I can relate to. but DNA, ELEMENT, FEEL...Oh yes FEEL, LUST, XXX....is my Ish! FEAR...if you're a melanated being you will understand FEAR right off the back! GOD is 🔥 and DUCKWORTH is 🔥 I suggest ppl really listen to the Album, listen to the lyrics instead of just bobbing ya head cause what's the use in dancing if you don't know what he's talking about. It's a Spiritual, Consciousness, Lyrical(especially FEEL, FEAR & DUCKWORTH) Mixed with some Trap Album. it's Dope and your reaction was Dope as well.
I believe some people shouldn't be so quick to say they like Kendrick's previous albums more than DAMN when they've had a chance to sit with them longer! That doesn't make sense! I loved OD, Section.80, GKMC, TPAB, but DAMN to me is his best work. I probably can say this because I have literally listened to this album at least 50 times and it gets better with each listen! I like that none of Kendrick's albums are the same! Even his mom thinks this is his best work!
J Cole Fan here. Kendrick is the best lyricist. Cole is the best person you can vibe to. On that note (lol) I see alot of bitching about KDots songs being "too deep" to have replay value... is this where we are as people now? Lol tf. Section 80, TPAB, GKMC. All have replay value. I bump a bunch of songs from each weekly. Ronald Reagan Era- is pure greatness, Real , Sing about me dying... Three different messages and vibes from three different albums. & Each album has a mix of each in all of them. All great. If that made sense. Lol. Real hip hop will never not have replay value.
+Invictus Dominus I agree with you for the most part! They are definitely both top two right now and kendrick edges cole out, but there's something in coles music you don't get from Kendrick but i can't put my finger on it. And i don't understand why people complain about a message like why wouldn't you want the music to talk and relate to/ help people . Better than any track repeating " water, water, water, water" the whole damn song? Lol
Invictus Dominus coles music is a Keli ride in the car type vibe which you can be played without having to listen to every bar. Kendrick is teaching and Cole is speaking to the audience...
The Unearthly Daniel P I know exactly why lol. My bad I forgot to reply. Just posted a new post discussing a few songs from Damn. Will reply to this one later, sorry
Eric Jones I agree. However I think everyone says that statement so much that it becomes a knock on Cole, and it shouldn't be. Hear me out, again your analogy is spot on. But we overlook that Cole teaches just as much as Kendrick does ... however Cole keeps it simple... because we're in a simple ass society- so it's not his fault. So Kendrick says 1x2+2= 4. Cole Says 2+2=4. Its an iffy example, but it's my interpretation. Kendrick doesn't give a shit lol. He wants his music to grow with his audience. So basic people who overlook it today may one day grow up, go back and catch all the jewels left... & this is why Kendrick in his own element (pun) is better than Cole. Cole in his own element seems to always be eager af to wake us up so he lays out everything on the table. & this is why he is better than Kendrick in that sense, because you will ALWAYS relate to and automatically click with Cole, even if you wanna clown him or have never experienced what he has. Coupled with his vibe/soul which no one can ever deny- it gives him that extra "something" that Daniel mentioned. HOWEVER, listen to DAMN. Kendrick is progressing. Tracks like FEEL, PRIDE, FEAR, & definitely XXX shows that he has atleast been influenced by Cole a lot. You can relate 100% more w Kdot this project, AND that's why it's his 4th masterpiece.
+Young Chvncho Beats lol nah isaiah rashad look like kel Mitchell! And I've gotten 21 savage before but he look like a am angry cinnamon stick so i refuse to accept it haha!
+Isaiah Hodges i get them from an assortment of places some are from concerts, some from friends, some I ordered online, Some are from cds and there are even some comic books pages and my own art in there lol
"I just win again and win again, like Wimbledon I serve... " 😷 "Love", is freaking amazing. The persona & vibe is perfect. Of course the track is mainstream Af ...& STILL better than any song in More Life or any other mainstream album out there. (AABA is not mainstream -_- ) "Loyalty" is weak AF. "God" starts off blah and ends 🔥, so Does "Yah".
+Brandon Caldwell Yup i heard about it after recording this. It makes that last track so much more significant. It all pretty much is a swap of Anthony/Top Dawg's decision. I think that was so damn creative of Kendrick! Haha
best album I ever heard since da early days of hip hop music Kendrick is dat next to be on thore all Hail kung fu king Kendrick nobody album FW dis unless Jay-Z or the old Kanye West drop a album
AR 80 u trippin if you thought Drogas was on par with this album and I mess with Lupe heavy as I think he is one of the most underrated lyricist of all time and T&Y being one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time . Drogas was somewhat disappointing but he did say that many songs on that were throwaways from a while ago. He should have put that out as a mixtape as it was not really a legitimate project
Bruh you don't need to move to the beat...Its cringe.. Thats not what this album was meant for you know.. And you need to Listen to the album Straight through to get full effect.
+Tawanda Batana well shit the beat moves ya boy! I'm iight with being cringe! Lol and yes if course i have listened after this. This is only my first listen.
Don't forget to pray for Kendrick.

Damn was better that gkmc imo I enjoyed more songs on this album that gkmc didn’t really feel yah on this album but rest I enjoyed alot
5 years later I don’t think it’s a reach to say DAMN is arguably Kendrick’s best album

Damien The Kid hiiipower 😉😆
Damien The Kid racist party*
Duckworth is a true story based of Anthony (Top Dawg) and Kendrick's dad, and how Anthony could've killed Kendrick's dad.
FEAR. is the greatest, deepest track Kendrick Ever put out
Debatable with ‘Sing about me, I’m dying of thirst’
ssstephxn I’d say it’s a tie between those two
"every stone thrown at you restin' at my feet. Why god, why god, do i gotta suffer. The pain in my heart i carry burns from the struggle. Why god, why god, do i gotta bleed. Every stone thrown at you restin' at my feet." is what kendrick is saying in FEAR. when it's reversed.
wait what. its not even reversed
marky mark yeah it is before he spits his verse
Pride comes before humble because you have to let go of it to be humble which he's fighting to be
ironic how in HUMBLE he is being the exact opposite...and in PRIDE he is also being the opposite
What we really needed was a beard stroke counter.
+MW2fabian lol you right! I'm just happy you actually called it a beard!
MW2fabian I'm at 72 strokes only 20 minutes in I can't stop now I'm in too deep and if he sees this comment.

+King BLUE_DUP thank you man and I'm tryin!
Does anyone notice the line Rihanna said, "It's a secret society all we ask is trust." is on 'The Heart Part 2?
In the song lust he's talking about his thirst for lust as he's speaking to the girl saying I just need you to want me & his voice changes to the evil voice asking to fuck basically then he tells her he respects it & a small voice but says it like I know it's wrong . Adanne Gadison okay that makes a little more sense! thank you!
A little late but eh. It’s also about his “lust” for fame, it’s like he’s describing it as the apple from Adam and Eve, he knows he shouldn’t, but he just wants a taste of the glory.
Cole isn't even close to Kendrick. Sure, he might be top 3 or 5 or whatever, but Kendrick is so far above anyone else that it doesn't even matter
Lol "ya bish". Was waiting for your reaction
AllThingsReezy haha thanks for watching man! hope you enjoyed!
He doesn't think he's pacs reincarnation...he's pacs offspring..referring back to pacs song to my unborn child. Pac made that song for the next big leader that he inspired not cause he literally had a son

💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
J Cole Fan here. Kendrick is the best lyricist. Cole is the best person you can vibe to.
On that note (lol)
I see alot of bitching about KDots songs being "too deep" to have replay value... is this where we are as people now? Lol tf.

"Loyalty" is weak AF.

His pitch is annoying though lol

The Unearthly Daniel P I only found about about that album like after tpab came out

He has 4 albums he also has overly dedicated
+michaeltheawesome123 oh, that's an album? I always thought that was a mixtape haha!
The Unearthly Daniel P I hope I'm right😅 nice reaction so far❤
