Diff fluid change on 1979 Toyota pickup

In this vid I change the diff fluid in the rear. I encountered a problem with the fill plug on the trans. Ill be taking it to a shop to weld a nut on the plug.

Same 8w90 would work for front differential too?

Not sure. I’ve always used 75w90
