Yes Aaliyah her story was sad and what happened was terrible but what was the situation during world war to what did the Japanese do to 1 million Chinese as well as Filipino..we know the story but the result that was created was hatred towards them at that time... So yeah the emotion is understandable plus by hiding her identity she decieved the Chinese...so that's what made them more angry at that time. Hatred is bad but that was the sign of the times
The quality of Dimash is impressive so that without knowing Chinese, the song shakes you and, together with the introduction that explains the context, you almost forget that he sings in a language very different from the one one is used to. Take a look at "Canción del Sur" by Los Jaivas (video made in Antarctica in 1977). You can almost feel the cold and loneliness of the frozen landscape through the melody. This is the Chinese version of Ikanaide, an original Japanese song. Dimash learned and sung the Chinese cover, then later learned and sung the Japanese version. 😉
