High Surf Warning extended by NWS

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a High Surf Warning for south-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau that was in effect until Saturday at noon.

Looks super fun. I remember in 2003 I think it was, town got some outer reef surf and there were literal stand up barrels in front of the Moana, unloading right on the beach. I surfed a wave from Pops and stepped off in the sand right in front of the Royal. Probably longest wave of my life still, by far. Two days ago I was out here, West Hawaii, and we had two 8’ Hawaiian sets of 7 roll through mid morning with a 15 minute interval. Those were outliers though. It was somewhere between 5-7’ all day with long lulls. I bet Waiks is fun right now. I miss the summers when town would pump.
