    I've been seeing a lot of stuff about people just chucking in some rocks and dirt into a jar, spraying some water in, sealing it, and then it miraculously turning into a bioactive vivarium. Does that actually work?

    • @radishfox308
      @radishfox308 Год назад +9

      I believe it. A few years ago when I was out hunting I found an old jar partially buried under the leaves. I picked it up and there was moss and other greenery growing in it...just from the dirt and sediment that had accumulated in it over the years. I thought it was amazing and brought it home and put it outside in my yard, sadly it dried out.

    • @stephaniehernandez4057
      @stephaniehernandez4057 8 месяцев назад +1

      I did a ratio of 3/4 outside dirt and 1/4 soil meant for vegetables (any type of soil brand works). I just mixed that together and my plants are thriving.

    • @acommenter4252
      @acommenter4252 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah probably, a terrarium is really simple, the way he does it is to optimize it. If you want to be sure that it will work then use the fancy soil. But terrarium is based on simple concepts of nature. In the forest, no one perfectly mixed together one part of this and two parts of that-- it all just came together. You can just put soil in there and it should work but there's no guarantee.
