It will be interesting if the devs ever shake up the meta with more balance changes, but without getting new elite specs with the way the devs are making the new expansions I expect the current meta to last for several years.
6:00 The Harbinger is pretty cool too. It can be played as either Power or Condi and Quickness or pure DPS without having to use concentration gears. Plus, Harb is also one of a few ranged Power DPS left in the game.
I always avoided it because of the mechanic but have been using condi and power variants the past week. More fun than Reaper though definitely not as tanky. Sword/sword gives range and more mobility. One trait flip to enable quickness. Using the exact same equipment as Reaper too so no need for another template slot.

Mesmer is the best class. Who knew having your damage on your weapon skills and allowing a class to actually use utility slots as flexible utility would be engaging and fun. However. Necro but specifically Power Reaper is the best Open World build. Spectral Grasp is just too good. Pulling 5 things from so far away feels so much better than hopping mob to mob. But that’s just me 🤷♂️
Power Reaper is the most simple but not the best IMO, there are classes to clear big enemies like bounties easier and classes to clear lots of mobs quicker. It does cleave the best for sure
id say ranger, it is still the king of power dps, even more so in fractals, druid is propably the best raid heal atm, has access to multiple condition builds in all 3 specs, and untamed is propably the most busted solo build, which can provide quickness on top of facetanking anything in full dps gear, only thing ranger lacks is adps. Guardian, even tho being my main, has really fallen off, and even tho im still playing it daily, i think its only standout is condi willbender, other specs are either meh or just outshined by better builds that can do the same but better/easier. Revenant, even tho it has okay builds for everything, lets be real....youre not playing anything else than herald or youre throwing

Let me add to it - In Direct Contest with your claim that Ranger is king of power DPS (maybe read your own words first..) Zerker Berserker. Top DPS. Zerker Spell breaker top DPS, top heals(self heals) plus unkillable in all game modes and definitely the most versatile in my experience.
berserker is not top dps, spellbreaker is not unkillable, your opinion is invalid, try playing something else than warrior. Its not 'my claim' its a very well known fact. If you wanted to have a discussion you wouldnt come with 'Hurr Durr i outdps everyone' you literally only came to be annoying
I really like your take here, i know some spec and build are not the best or unhinged/off meta but guardian, mesmer and revenant can do all off them im talking about any dps, any boon dps, any boon heal its just those build have a wall like heal scourge needing todo a walk of shame just too provide a stability and so on. but if the fight dont need a specific thing on a spec then you can play them as long as it can do the job or reach good damage.
Switch out Guardian with Ranger. Firebrand is basically dead outside of fractals and even there you usually see Heal Chrono. DH is just a worse pSlb. cWb is nice I guess, but not enough to keep Guardian in the Top 3. One saving grace might be the Core Hammer Autoattack 1 button build. Ranger meanwhile has Druid, arguably the best solo healer. It has Soulbeast, the best pDPS if any Burst in needed and a braindead easy double Shortbow condi variant. And Untamed with it's near immortal Open World Build and Quickness Green Fart Machine.
I need to update my ranger stuff, to be fair ranger is a really strong class but most people won't be solo healing. It's stability access has gotten some love recently but could still doesn't really compare to hfb/hchrono
@@SilhouetteGaming1 True, most people won't but the premise of the video is the best/most impactful class. Which druid is for healing. And I personally think you overvalue frequent stability access, unless it's fractals (where you wouldn't bring druid anyway) or hyper specific bosses (which you can offload throughout the group). And if stab is really such a problem, you would bring a Herald with Road anyway.
I adore willbender personally. I solo things on that I never dreamed of on my weaver and with way more average DPS to boot. That said I always feel more useful on Chronomancer in general, but Willbender can throw out Alacrity really well nowadays thanks to Pistol being so good at proccing virtues.
Scourge low CC? You couldn't be more wrong. 200 on Pistol/Warhorn, another 200 on Torch 5. Golem charge deals 200 but depending on the size of the hitbox can hit multiple times dealing 200 each time. Finally you can bring Spectral Grasp and stand in the enemies hitbox and if all five pulls hit them it'll do 750 defiance damage. The only weakness of Scourge as a healer imo is stab but it more than makes up for it with the ranged revive and downstate pull on F4. Scourge has a insane carry potential in raid pugs or low exp groups but drops off as the group performs better. Healbrand is the opposite. It lacks the big green heal numbers you see from other healers and requires everyone to be aware of the mantra size/radius so boons are up kept. Inexperienced HB players struggle to maintain even boon spread and appropriate stab/aegis application requires that you already know the fight very well. A well organized and experienced group that uses HB to its fullest potential can pick and choose how to engage with particular mechanics. For example I've used it to aegis every platform wide fireball on Q1 CM completely negating that mechanic. Outside of particular use cases I never see HB played in raids and rarely see it in fractal pugs anyone. Guardian has really fallen off recently and to call it the king of healers is simply not true anymore. Lots of heal scourge, chrono, HAM, druid, and herald in fractals and raids these days.
Scg vs hfb,chrono,druid is low cc as a healer. It's not tempest but it's low CC in terms of CDs and number of CCs. Look at 98CM split phase scg has a hard time carrying CC if the team is dumb. HfB negates it entirely. Where HFB lacks healing it makes up for it in damage mitigation, I think chrono is better right now, but hfb is still a monster it's just not as popular because it has like 40 skills it can use.
PVE support Quickdps: Herald (power), Scrapper (power), Harbinger (condi), Firebrand (condi) HealQuickness: Firebrand, Chronomancer Alacdps: Spectre, Willbender HealAlacrity: Druid, Scourge WvW Main and off Supports Scrapper, Firebrand, Chrono, Spectre, Tempest, Scourge, Vindicator, Renegade spvp support not my cup of tea but, core guard is still strong to my knowledge. ...imo
I also really like Catalyst for Open World gameplay due to the trait Staunch Auras which gives you stab for doing Auras which you do a lot with Catalyst. Also the spheres can buff people around you as well.
I am looking for some fun easy alternatives. I usually play deadeye dual pistol, just spamming 3 on auto repeat- it never runs out of energy. After each kill i can re-steal and get boons. + signet healing + relic of zakiros. Keeps me alive over others, so i can focus on dodging circles and ressurecting downed players, or just stand afk if the fight is easy. Single player mobs die instantly and i can get half my health back in 5 seconds. I just love pistols, what would be another proffesion that has a nice pistols build ? Or for harder metas like inner nayos inside end boss - i would like a necro build that can keep healing downed players, since they keep falling like dominos, while the fire circles around them.
One question that im asking before watching the video - What and why do you think holds people back from being able to make their own builds? Like there is a lot of complexity in the game design but i feel like not following a build heavily negatively affects the gameplay experience (Open world in particular when nobody is on the map). How would you make it so users could have more fun in builds?
Build crafting is generally solved in this game, at least for pve. You are unlikely to find better choices, because the numbers won't add up. A room for surprises is in pvp mostly, because playing unique build may give you an advantage due to simple surprise effect
I don't really think so, some dps builds will change but for the most part the big shifts happen with supports. Most strats are anchored around supports. But mesmer spear, thief spears, and warrior spear might spawn some nice builds.
I just downloaded the game today haven’t decided on my race or class yet. I’m looking for something fun to play. I was looking at different mmos over the weekend and decided to give guild wars 2 a try. So many videos say different things I’m confused about what class is strong dps and everything.
Mesmer is best at everything right now. But all classes are good except ele and thief are kinda underwhelming. Thief has some high benchmarks but the heal and boon support builds are lacking.

Condi wb is a top tier condi spec, I covered power fresh air temp which is #1. The thing is that all of the specs in the top ~30 are all a few thousand dps from eachother. And most ele builds have gaping holes to produce that dps. No rebound, no CC, full melee or close range. If you want ele hate I can definitely make an ele hate video for you.

Kinda funny that I "main" two characters: a Guardian and a Revenant. I recently came back into the game, so I had no idea they were so good.
I wish they would make staff elementalist more satisfying to play, and for the wind path to be more viable

I have been ele main since gw1 days and beginning of gw2. My soul hurts seeing my class now.

Guardian forever from static firebrand, trap mastar DH to fricking jumping assasin willbender I love that class. Everything in one

Yeah, I'd have gone Mesmer/Necro/Ranger. They're the only 3 professions where I enjoy all 3 specs, and pretty much equally.
