Swords of Northshire is just a really good company to do business with. I've heard over the last year so many comments on the sword I reviewed from them how they are good people to handle issues, their product as awfully nice ... well put together ... nice quality ... for the price! , and that compared to other swords within the "custom - assembled" category ... they really are the standard. At some point I would like to order a folded blade from them. I've seen some examples of those ... and they look awesome. Thank you for sharing your experience. Oh ... btw ... email them and let them know you made a review! They also have a very nice reputation for being very grateful to those that take the time to make good reviews of their products.

Top level detail orientation. Right on. 11:28 I had a sword come recently from Huawei with the same problem, way way too tight. Looking at the wood there, it appears laden with oil. Mine was satched, too. I think it makes it swell and tighten up with that much fluid in it. Good video.

@@JoeSteel1 Yeah, QC is the name of the game. I notice the companies that are best in that regard are often the best-reviewed and most prevalent. That's why I would never buy another roninkatana, the itomaki was atrocious on mine, and the samegawa panels were tiny pieces totally 6 different panel scraps, which I found out after the wrap came loose.
I personally didn't mind about the koiguchi, though, because it gave me the opportunity to size it to my own preferred snugness. Snugness. what a word. I need coffee. Have a good day.

Thanks for your review, very informative. Great-looking a sword.
Was all set to order from Swords of Northshire and then when I got to check out found out they did not take PayPal (I was going to use PayPal credit).
When I contacted them Bryce wrote back and said that they didn't do it cuz PayPal didn't allow swords on their platform. Which is really strange because I know of three major Katana suppliers off the top of my head that DO take payment via PayPal.
I'm still going to order from them, but now it's going to be delayed for about a month.
I really like their customization service. Should be rather easy since these swords are modular construction. I have no idea why many of the other Majors do not offer it. Particularly nice is the way you can see your sword being "built" as you make your selections on the website.

yes, thanks for watching, SON Website is probably the best custom user friendly ordering site out there...As far as PayPal, I have ordered many swords through PayPal with different distributors but for some reason SON does not accept it...strange....Im hoping you will be happy with your final project...if you know katana make sure you are specific as to exactly what you want and to be cautious about...more info you give them the better...good luck...peace out

@@JoeSteel1 Thanks. I'm doing a dragon motif on my sword as well so I wanted to ask you, Bryce asked me to send him some sort of digitalized version of the design I want (didn't really want the whole dragon) but my computer knowledge is rather rudimentary. So I just attached a picture of it in an email.
If it's too much of a hassle to put what I want on it I was going to see if they had any stock images. Was that Dragon you had on yours one of their stock images or did you have to send it to them as well.
I asked that question of Bryson an email but I haven't heard back yet. I think as I haven't actually ordered yet ( also waiting for an estimate) Bryce's contact with me is not as good as some other people have experienced.

Yea like every one money talks..first...lol..the dragon on my sword I chose from what they had in stock...its easier that way...they have a fair amount of stock images so I saw what I liked and moved on...but yes they will attempt to replicate what you send them as long as its not to intricate...they are not world class artists...simple sketch would do..Bryce can get very busy...

    • @michaelrs8010

@@JoeSteel1 yes it's very simple. Just a part of the Dragon (don't want to say as I don't want anybody to beat me to the design or name, but may not be all that original. You know, dragon motif and Asian swords and such). Should be something they could easily replicate.
Anyway, thanks for the information. Appreciate the insight.

Anyway I haven't seen many channels review their products I am not affiliated in anyway just am just really pleased with my product. Supposedly katanasforsale and samuraiswordstore are the same people and when you search fpr katanas ther stuff is at the top so figured it might be something to look into I dunno I'm a newbie lol anyway there is alot of customization options and seem to be a decent chinese forge to me. Just somethen to think about as far as a future review sir. My 2nd sword a 1095 clay tempered wakazashi is on the way from Hanbon forge I want to try blades from the different forges my 3rd piece will be swords of northshire for sure tho they always get good reviews.
