Traditional Products and Professions in Kokkari Village

Kokkari is the hidden gem in Winemaking, Olive oil production and Beekeeping. Vineyards, Olive groves and Bee Hives are scattered around the village, with their owners taking care of their produce with love and passion.
In the slopes under mount Karvounis, the “White Muscat Grape” reigns supreme! The rich, luscious wine produced by those grapes is renowned internationally. Our old olive trees are of the variety “Throumba Samos” and produce the extra virgin organic olive oil we are proud of. As for the honey, wild flowers and Pine trees are the reason for its mesmerizing aromas.
Pottery is also prevalent with the Pythagorean Cup being the most famous product: A clever and entertaining vessel designed to hold a certain amount of wine, forcing the drinker to imbibe only in moderation, a virtue of great regard among ancient gods!
