I grew up in rural Maine and spent alot of time hunting,fishing in the forests, I was usually by myself. Along the way to a brook or pond to fish i would look for blueberry patches or wild blackberry and raspberry bushes or elderberries to eat. I was 10 or 11 and had went 10 miles away from the house to go fishing...no big deal i was always way out there by myself i found a raspberry bushes sat down started eating raspberries and reading a paperback about 'the legend of boggy creek' (i think) Never heard of bigfoot before that..anyway i lost track of time it was getting very dark so i started down the hunting trail to the main road and my bike. Then it was pitch black i couldnt see a thing i had a disposable flashlight..no you couldnt change the battery and it was not rechargeable...the light was nearly dead..of course...piece of crap cost me .75ct at Newberrys! Then i heard something big crash thru the brush and small trees i couldnt see it but it was big and moving fast right at ne! And it smelled like a skunk..i ran as fast as i could but it jumped on my back and it was heavy and knocking me to the ground! I start screaming and shrieking trying to crawl away and run again so i rolled over on my back hoping i could push it off..now im terrified its BIGFOOT!!!...Nope..when i reached out to push its head away and grabbed the neck..i felt a collar...it was a Dog!! I thought it HAD ti be Bigfoot trying to eat my face!...he got off me so i turned my flashlight on and saw it was a giant Great Dane!..further it was my Dad's dog! I dont know how he got out of the house or even found me..i had never brought him with me out that far...he stunk! He had found a skunk and decided to mess around with it and he got sprayed..and now he just rubbed the stink all over me too!...i hated that dog for about 5 seconds..but also relieved it wasnt bigfoot

This is a fantasy story. It never happened. You have no need to worry. Camping is not only fun, but will refresh your soul. You would be well advised to try it, but go with an experienced camper at first.

No offense intended, but I can't think of too many horror movies or stories with a happy ending. As far as that is concerned, this is pretty much par for the course with one survivor.

My cousin and her friends went camping in some farmland near us, until one girls older sis sneaked up to the neighboring field to say 'WAAAAAH' a lot, until they decamped to a friendly farmers barn!

One of the guys riding with me was asked from a convenience store where we stopped at did we stay...my friend was snotty telling them and pointing to me "she bought weapons...They told him it was a good thing because we were in cougar country...he turned white...this lady always goes well armed!

I don’t think this girl killed her friends.But it seems odd that no blood or any sign of the three was found.There are things evil in this world,that Ido believe. You do a really nice job recounting these stories. I have listened to all of them.
Great story! Got to say that I love camping though. Bushcraft too but wild camping especially. Learning how to forage, how to read the land and how to thrive is just an awesome thing. These stories are great! :) will never keep me from real wilderness though. Human beings would scare me more than anything else tbh 😅
I spent the summer of 1972 living in Hungry Horse Montana. I hiked back into the Flathead forest , going back 20 miles and spent a month out there. I had a close encounter with a big silver tip grizzly out there. I was lucky, it was more scared of me and quickly took off. Never had ufos, or any scary stuff happen. Met a couple of hot girls from Europe camping out, had a great time with them. Beautiful country, great food and good people.
The scariest part of this story; was the word “Help” written in the dirt. That implies that one of Amy’s friends broke loose, and was possibly still alive somewhere when the search party showed up, but likely not for much longer. 🙁
I'm from Kalispell. 😮My high school diploma is from Flathead High School. Many years ago, a girl I modeled with fell off a cliff in Glacier Park. She was on a date. She died.
Please, don't you know when you are going out into the wilderness, it's dangerous. For example, lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my. Don't you understand that when you are going out into the wilderness, you need a large caliber firearm to protect yourself and your party. But, first, be trained in knowing how to use your firearm first.

I camp a lot.I never go into the woods without a firearm. I also wear my boots when I sleep, because you need to be ready to move instantly if something bad happens. And if you know which direction east and west are, then you know where south is, duh.
Note to self…….. never go camping ⛺️
