Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it very much. The low speed in the tunnels is not due to the proximity of stations. Till a year ago the speed used to be 50, now it’s 27 because of bad tracks and in order to prevent further decay. The tunnels between Groenplaats and Opera are planned to be closed in 2026 for a total renovation. Same goes for the part between Diamant and Plantin.
Thanks for the feedback! Well, there were one (or few?) sections, where tram has several curves in the tunnel (like between 09:50-10:00 on this video). But thanks for sharing the info! Closing these [probably most important] tunnels might cause a significant disruption to everyday life plans..
I did the same thing in Antwerpen in Feb. and March 2014 but after 10 years it is good to see how things are now and your video is better than mine. Thank you for putting this out. MPHicks
Great video! I rode the Antwerp Premetro when I was last there around 17 years ago! Plus it's a beautiful city to visit with an impressive Central Station! Hope you're well 😊
No, this is all about uniformity. 1000mm is used all over belgium for the vicinal railways except in Brussels. This was cheaper to build. It has nothing to do with tight curves.

As someone who lives in Antwerp these type of tram videos make my day brighter

Thanks! :) The city is very nice indeed! The railway station in Antwerp is one of (if not the) the most beautiful stations I have ever seen!
Nice video again! Also cool to still see the good old PCCs in action😁
Thanks! :) PCCs are cute 😄
Thanks for the video. When exactly was this video shot?
Thanks! This was made during first days of June 2024.

I guess the change in gauge was done because of the many tight curves in the city ...
