I really feel for Reeve. Golan & Globus were theives & snake-oil salesmen and that's the nicest thing I can say. Meanwhile, despite horrible tragedy, Reeve became a true hero. A real "superman" in every sense of the word. He is greatly missed, but his philanthropic work changed the world.
I felt it delivered some real acting chop in part III as 'Evil Superman'. The scene when he flies away hearing Ricky's voice echoing, the lands in the junkyards and releases that 'yell', felt bad for the Man of Steel, not to get too deep but imagine the stress and pressure that dude must have on a daily basis!
Oh man, hearing that canon logo brought back some serious memories. I really love your in depth style of making these. I hit the notification bell. I will surely be back
I finally watched these the other day, though I saw them in the separate parts - great work! I learned some things I didn't know before, and this was the first footage I've seen of the original Nuclear Man, though I may have had a VHS of an extended cut at some point. As much as the third and fourth movies were terrible, I like some bits in them, like the junkyward scene in III, and Clark and Superman's double date with Lacey and Lois in IV. Basically, they're still enjoyable because of Christopher Reeve. Are you still planning a third part to this series?
ecmyersvids thank you so much for watching my dear, dear friend!! I totally agree with what you said about the good parts of these movies. I can see you have an appreciation for the heart behind a movie. Yes the original nuclearman, the actor, Clive Mantle he lives down in my village! Haha!! So I’m trying to organise an interview for part 3!!
The first time I saw Superman IV, my brother had brought it home on VHS and was in the middle of watching 'Coming to America' (a film I'd seen several times at this point) so I ejected without watching the rest, at put Superman IV straight in. I was already dubious by the first scene, the rescue of the space shuttle crew, but stuck with it. I remember thinking this feels different, this film feels cheap! (using British tube stations to represent an American subway!) One of the only scenes I really liked was the Superman/Clark date with Lacey and Lois, respectively, but having Clark become a super-klutz again after moving on from that characterisation in part III was a big mistake. Though it featured terrible production quality, bad visual and special effects (shaky sets!) I did also enjoy Alexander Courage's score (especially the moment Nuclear Man, or 'Nu-clear Man' arrives in New York City). At the time of it's release on the big screen I REALLY wanted to see it, but was out voted at the time and instead saw 'The Living Daylights'. Never had I been so glad to be in the minority! Fun fact: The little girl in the tornado is Reeve's actual daughter!
DeDomenici Liked it?!! I loved it!! You put so much effort into it it’s unreal! Martin is wonderful isn’t he! You are a legend sir for what you achieved!!! I watch it regularly!!!
Appraising a movie is highly subjective. Many 1980s movies that most adults hated (at the time they were new) were enjoyed by many children back then. Great examples of this are: Superman III, Howard the Duck, and Big Trouble In Little China. Many ‘adults’ disliked these films, but their kids lauded these films and they watched them over-and-over again on cable and VHS. Even the successful ‘Return of the Jedi’, considered by many ‘adults’ to be the worst film of the original trilogy, was a huge with kids. I was 5-years-old when Return of the Jedi came out and it blew my mind. Superman III had a similar effect on me. For this reason, the adults criticisms at the time didn’t phase me then or now.
Scorch1028 fantastic point! There’s so much to be said for the objectivity of a child’s perspective. The truth is I still find Superman 3 far more entertaining than half of the movies today despite its obvious shortcomings. As you say, Return Of The Jedi is still far more enjoyable to both myself & many others than the original!
This is very true. Superman IV was the only Superman movie that I was old enough to see in theaters as a kid, and I remember how much I loved it back then. Maybe that's why I still like it even now, despite all of its flaws. You'd think with modern technology and special effects, they could find a way to remake this movie with all the unused footage sitting around somewhere into something pretty good.
KayBee 211 bless your heart, that’s really kind of you!!! Coming from some mine as committed & more importantly talented as you, that means a great deal!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My issue now is that people harp on Cavill for the direction of the newest installments. Fans should give him another chance now that Justice League was completed. It's all about the movie studio and director not the great actor such as Henry.
Henry just like Chris cares about the roll of Superman. Not a fan of TV show versions as you can see the actors are clearly not into it. Well maybe Welling but he didn't want the tights.
DrumhellerParanormal beautifully said!⭐️👍 I utterly adore Henry in the role. Infact I would go as far to say it was Henry that has become the only person to truly take the legacy forward from Reeve. I found his portrayal in both MOS & BvS UE absolutely wonderful. His Clark Kent in BvS was the closest I’ve ever seen to how he was originally intended in both the original Shuster comic strips & animation serials by Fleischer.
Hey, new friend here from XWRITTIN’s Live. Happy 2019! Glad to connect with you. I love Superman. Takes me back to my childhood. Watching your videos now. Thx for checking out some of mine. Have an amazing week friend :)

Hope You support me.

Love Christopher Reeve . The best Superman / Clark Kent ever. Awesome work my friend
How did they even get Hackman to do this? Must've been a big paycheck. At least Ned Beatty knew to say no.

Chris Reeve had so much passion and professionalism. He embodied that portrayal so earnestly and seriously. The story & concept was decent, but the execution was poor. The finances just didn’t back up the movie with its ambition.
