Constantine is apparently the only character that chronologically ages with real time.
TheGreatSeraphim Judge Dredd also ages in real time, but he's from a completely different publication

Yeah, he ages in real time and had a permanent death and ending in the original Vertigo Hellblazer run. But after Flashpoint, the DC universe got rebooted and Constantine got a fresh start as well. He's basically in his 30s again now in the New 52 and Rebirth.
I love the fact that he's a good guy but rough around the edges. Makes it compelling and relatable.

He's basically a low empathy character who somehow finds himself helping people out. He does good not because it's what required or even something that's "the right thing to do" but he does it simply because it was what he wanted to do at the time.

Because if you're smart enough to be capable of smoking your smart enough to comprehend how you have zero right to criticize another for doing what you do just in a different way.. drinking, smoking, snorting, shooting, all INGS that equal the same end result.

I love John Constantine so much, and is awesome to have him as the leader of the team.And I am also a big fan of hes relationship with Zatana (Zatana likes bad boys)
Constantine is not as powerful as the other members of the team but hes vast knowledge of the occult and con-man skills make him a natural pick as leader.

I'm surprised no ones ever pointed out how Supernatural based a lot of backstory and storyline for Sam off of Constantine. Even the the whole demon blood thing.

A few things that you got wrong, Constantine has taken edibles during the original Hellblazer run. He isn't a humanist, if anything he's usually reluctant to act and has sacrificed people to defeat enemies. In fact a huge part of his reputation is the harm he causes which is why so many people want nothing to do with him.
Idk why but Gambit and Constantine would be such a fun duo to see, even if they are from 2 separate multiverses.

Not me honestly, I loved the original Garth Ennis Hellblazer story Dangerous Habits, but for me that movie basically went out of it's way to emasculate a classic comic story as well as Constantine as a character.

I've only read Hellblazer and, from this video, I have no reason to read anything modern. I cannot think of any reason to read the New 52 Constantine, because what I love about the Vertigo comics are things that would never fly in the mainstream DC universe. I love other DC superheroes, but John really belongs in a Vertigo universe.
I like the New 52 version along with the original Vertigo. In fact, Constantine was the influence for one of my characters
Agreed, the new 52 run by Lemire was pretty bad and the DC You Constantine Hellblazer series was also meh. The only time he is written in character is in Justice League Dark Vol. 1 by Peter Milligan, who is one of the most famous writers of Hellblazer.
Well DC is putting Constantine under their ‘Black Label’ imprint in a new Hellblazer series, which is something of a return to Vertigo, It comes out either today or next week.
After what new 52 did to some of my other favourite characters I'm not keen to see what they did to John

I love the fact that he is in legends but I'm still annoyed that he never got a second season or even a full season as it was supposed to be 26 episodes
Yeah it irritated me too, but I'm glad they continued with the same character, albeit a few years later, and used the show as kind of lived in backstory for his appearance on legends
Constantine also makes an appearance in Niel Gaiman's "The Sandman." XD

Constantine to me at least is one of the most complex and compelling fictional characters and I am absolutely in love with Matt Ryan’s portrayal of the character and still hope we can get a Hellblazer or JL Dark show with him on DC Universe. John Constantine is my favorite character ever just after Batman.

I think its worth mentioning that the majority of the time given the choice in the vertigo run he'd rather indirectly combat his opponents using a more outthink the opponent strategy rather than direct confrontation is pretty central to his character. Most of the magic he used was part of a setup/investigation. In his original runs he was never one to blast you in the face with a spell.Status as the laughing magician was a pretty important drop as well. Other than that not bad. The ability to ride the synchronicity wave to the level of being able to alter the fate of gods/the subconscious (until much later in the vertigo series)source of his ludicrous luck/con abilities is pretty central to the character.

I really loved the Constantine TV show it was really good I watched it every week and then all the sudden 3 episodes left in the season it gets canceled I was so pissed this guy totally nailed the role of Constantine better than Keanu Reeves hopefully maybe the CW will pick it up and make it a show again fingers crossed

And the origins of DC. batman was not created by one man as is so often said! And Miller along with Moore practically invented what we know now as the Dark Knight. Before that Batman wasn't waht we love about the caped crusader today, at least imo.

Fun Fact: The character "Castiel" from the TV show "Supernatural" wears a similar outfit to Constantine (With the trenchcoat being iconic to castiel as well) this is intentional as the creators based Castiel's outfit on Constantine. :D

As much as I love the fact that he's on Legends now, he doesn't really fit the cheesy and fun tone of the show. He fits a dark and somewhat scary tone of a show much like his cancelled solo show. And Matt Ryan does a terrific job at portraying Constantine. His Constantine feels like it jumped straight outta the comic book!
