This is already a legendary show - first concert in about 3 years, first live performance of Sleep and a band in top form. I for one am also happy they're still playing all the old classics, it speaks volumes about the timeless quality of the songs and is a gift to all those like me who couldn't see them live yet back in the early 90's. I'm sure once the new album is about to come out we will hear new songs live as well.

They're playing old classics due to 75% of their songs being old. I saw them in the early 90s and they were stunning. Saw them 4 years ago and almost fell asleep. I thought Dean and Britta from Luna who opened for them played a better set. I'm sticking to all my old Slowdive live boots from the 90s and the first two albums (Pygmalion being a half assed release IMO) thank you very much.

@@chrisknowlton9460 Of course they don't have that youthful charm from back in the day anymore, they age like all human beings. I feel like we've gotten a matured band in return though, one that has found their musical field and plays balanced setlists with songs from all their albums plus the early EP's.
Also not sure what's exactly your issue - if you only like the first two albums you could be glad they're still playing so many songs off of them, or am I missing the point here? As I said, of course they've aged and don't have the same appearance on stage anymore, but you can't really blame them for that can you. Let's show some gratitude that this band (still) exists (again) and that they keep doing their thing

I love how everyone sang together on the verse "it matters where you are" in the song "When The Sun Hits" 53:54 Truly amazing how strong the affect of this band has had on the world

Shame it sounds like it's been recorded in someone's pants then taken out for the crowd to scream into the phone. Hopefully better quality versions see the light of day eventually.

Slowdive is turning into The Chameleons or Fields of the Nephilim: once great bands, now 50 somethings, who are content to play the same setlist the rest of their life and not create anything new. Their first album in 20 years was a meager 40 minutes and a disappointment. Now it's four years later and not one new song. I liked them better when they were younger. There I said it. Don't hate me.

agree they could change a bit the main set, but disagree on their last album being a "disappointment", it's actually great!

Hate you? Well, you're not giving us much to like! Disagree on all fronts here. (your blather is hardly worth a response, I'll keep it quick) They're still working on the 5th LP...too soon to drop any songs live. Maybe they want to build some suspense since the set ended up online like the next day in hundreds of iterations.
Everyone ages, you're not down with Slowdive anymore. It's no big deal. Find a new band, energy vampire.
PS: I LOVE the 2017 LP...c'mon man can you be any more of a dimwit?
PPS: Same with Pygmalion...keep walking til your hat floats, chump.

Bit harsh given most people would argue the last album wasn't a disappointment and they have been recording a new album for release next year - obviously the pandemic hasn't helped the latter. For a first gig back, it was unlikely to be anything too radically different.

Couldn't disagree more on the last album being a 'disappointment' - some timeless classics on that a gem. It was a triumphant comeback.
