Well technically almost all Black/Afro-Jamaicans are mixed with European, Native American, African and sometimes Asian/Arab. So it's more on the case on what you grew up around that fed you these ideas that lighter skinned people are mixed. Southern Africans usually have more lighter skinned people than West Africans but they're still fully African. On my Jamaican side Poet has a similar skin tone to some of my relatives, and it is pretty normal to have families that range from light skin to dark skin, but the word 'black' that we adopted from American ideals seems to be confusing some people in the UK, by not adding the fact ethnicities/tribes and nationalities with a wide range or skin tones, which neglects the range that we have in our diversity.

Even that is based on a stereotype in centring a specific kind of feature in your perception of what blackness is because as we know black people can have any phenotype and not be “mixed”
