Absolutely love this video. So much hate for this era but I love it and for what it's worth I've been watching since 1981 as a 6 year old. The reason I mention that is because there are plenty of old school fans who love this era and Jodie's Doctor.
Open challenge to non-thasmin shippers to watch this video and not ship thasmin by the end.
I failed the challenge. I didn't want to ship this because I felt it was unlikely to become canon, but now I do. Fingers cross, we get a kiss b4 Jodie leaves
@@SWINDISA I'd be happy with a proper confession tbh. I think Yaz will need it for herself, at least. Whether the Doctor reciprocates, TBD, but Yaz is in deeeeep.
@@sheregenerated13 I failed as well...I mean, I first heard of thasmin in s11, and I honestly thought 'why on earth people should ship them? I don't see them together at all', and to some extent it still applies to s11 because I think they never developed the characters in that way, aside from a couple of 'heart-eyes' glances from Yaz in the direction of the doctor. But boy was I wrong. In s12 and ROTD it became more and more obvious that Yaz is deeply infatuated with 13, and in my head 13 is very well aware of this (well, she is oblivious most of the time, but I feel that she knows) so she's trying to keep herself emotionally detached from Yaz. Even though I changed my mind about them, I still think that they shouldn't make them a couple, because realistically they can't have a 'happy ending' or whatever, and the doctor has already suffered too much. I feel this is a halfway situation between the ten/rose relationship (Yaz has a lot of elements in common with rose) and the one sided attraction of martha/ten

For me, it's less about them "being a couple" because honestly, everything depends on how you define "thasmin happening" and your definition of "canon" and "couple" -- this is Doctor Who XD So in human terms or whatever, no, but I love the pining and the long looks between them. How the Doctor looked at her lips in Kerblam! and how she mirrored the movements, like they were having a little silent conversation (almost certainly due to the actors' chemistry, but they do have amazing chemistry). I think there's certainly feelings there from the Doctor's end too, so many similarities/parallels to her and Rose, and how the Doctor was willing to basically break time for her like how 10 did for Rose. Something she'd almost certainly tell anyone else no, but for Yaz, it's "always." How they had that girlfriends on a roadtrip bickering thing in Can You Hear Me was pretty funny too, but yeah I think the Doctor might reciprocate in her own way (we shouldn't hold the Doctor to any human rules or labels really, imo). As for where they go, they've got a lot of recovery and processing to do with their mental health and trauma, that's got to be a priority. And even though I know it's likely Yaz will have a tragic ending (as do most companions who love the Doctor) I agree with the Doctor's sentiments that it's good to be happy now because you'll be sad later. Yes, I know it will hurt when she leaves, one way or another, but if the Doctor doesn't have love or happiness and gave in to the "professional detachment" ... it would be a dark day for the universe.
@@sheregenerated13 agreed, Jodie and Mandip have crazy chemistry, and yeah, I guess it would be nice if the doctor allowed herself to be happy for the moment... let's say I'd settle for a love confession from Yaz 😁🙈

I rarely comment, but I truly wanted to tell you that this edit is absolutely beautiful. Since 2021 when I first saw this video till now I must admit I have watched it at least 10 times. I completely associate this song to 13, you introduced me to this song and I am so thankful to you for it. Many slander on 13 and her story but I love and adore her.
