That kind of escalator is very usual for grocery stores so people can just wheel their shopping cart easily
The "flour" Ken used is actually an all purpose mix, which already has A LOT of seasonings. There are already spices in it. Like helluvah lot of spices.
The 'flat escalator' is called walkalator here. It's for your carts or whatever that has wheels so you can easily ride one.
I remember when I watched this, I got so frustrated with Ken and Justin's cooking 😂 I want to get into the screen and do it for them.

Malls in the philippines has everything you need. There's the grocery, a cinema, a karaoke rooms, a lot of food courts and tho I have never into one, I heard at some malls there's happen to have a church as well 🤷♀

Some filo culture notes that will add to ur repertoire & laughter:
1. Fried chicken & spaghetti is staple for any Filipino children's party especially with the Jollibee combo. Since Josh is known to be the secret SB19 Maknae/bunso the menu implied that this was a children's party. And that he didn't get a bday party when he was young make this all the more special.
2. 1000Pesos is around 20USD. So given that they were cooking for 5, this is pretty cheap 🤭
Hi Kpopsis and int'l fans! Just wanna share a bit of our ways here in PH. Like what you saw in the vid, we don't often marinate fried chicken before cooking (at least in my family). We have a pre-seasoned breading mix, though. I bet that's what Ken used for coating the chicken.
Also, when this video came out. There was a heated debate among Filipino A'tin about washing ground pork like what Justin did. 🤣🤣🤣 Apparently, not everyone washes ground pork before cooking. It really differs from one family to another. All this time, I thought all people wash ground meat before cooking like what we do at home. 😅
This New Year Eve I asked my Mom if she wash the ground meat. She said it should cause the meat weren't washed after being ~~ basta diretso na raw yun sa palengke o sa mga mall kaya dapat hinuhugasan (hirap i-english! Haha!)
That part where Justin was washing the ground meat sparked a debate on Twitter when this vlog first came out, especially among those who know how to cook. 😂
Hahahaha yeah I remembered that day ...and we consumes that whole night debating in Twitter haha
Philippine mall is like a one go to place where you can find everything in one location. There is even a church inside a mall. And we have one of the biggest mall in asia which is sm mall of asia or MOA. Our hotdogs are red but we do have the brown one. You should try dried mangoes they really are so good. Just this NYE I asked my mom if she wash the ground meat, we had spaghetti (on new year's eve **haha**). She said it should cause the meat is ground as is and being sent directly to wet markets or groceries and wasn't washed. I don't know other households though.
I can relate to Justin as I don't know how to cook too but I can cook the simple ones like frying.

malls in the Philippines has grocery stores inside, another on the outer part called "palengke"(public market), and there goes minimarts too, but mostly if you live in the province part you're most likely to go to the "palengke".
