I would have loved to see a live view of an oscilloscope to see the waveform and Vpk-pk. Transistors ussually need to switch fast. So a slow wave to turn them on and off would cause huge losses due to heat dissipation or even blow them up. And a lamp usually runs on DC too. Perhaps show a device that truly needs AC to run. Perhaps an AC motor.
I'm assuming that using a 5A 100v NPN would be alright, and that I could probably get away with using something even less powerful. But I just wanna make sure, would that work for this circuit?

he's just switching directional flow. Making a square sine wine at a natural oscillation based on the resistor between the two switches. Then using the transformer to bump up the 12volt to 120. And because 60hz is just code for electrical it doesn't actually influence the amount of light produced just the frequency of the strobe from the AC current. I can only make software powered switch to alternate closing circuit to generate low ac voltage and current and using transformer to low ac to high ac. Software based switching make me sense and fit in logic easily. But this circuit not fiting in logic and event not fiting in sense how it will swap line path at constant frequency. 😅 Can I assume it's fake.
This thing is not converting DC to AC since there is no existence of an oscillator anywhere in the video. In fact, I suspect the power supply already AC and all the circuit is doing is stepping it up using the transformer.

BS. There is no timer IC or capacitor to generate the 60Hz.
AC current does not have to be 60 Hz. It can be 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or even a couple kilohertz.
